"See you then." Sira said as she headed toward the arena. She figured that both Lanor and Jessam would be in there practicing their skills and she slipped into the spectator's box to watch them practice.

Lanor was tired. He had been helping train the younger men and they had been learning well. He sat on the bench and drank deeply of a canteen of water. The young guard glistened with sweat and he grabbed a towel to wipe it off, watching Jessam with his usual amount of awe.

Mandi with the help of several other palace personal had the room ready for the surprise party. She nodded her head in approval and thanked everyone for their help. They said they were all looking forward to the party so that was all the thanks they needed. She smiled brilliantly.

Jessam continued on for a few more moments before dismissing everyone and grabbing a towel for himself. He had noticed Sira enter the spectator's box and looked over at Lanor before saying teasingly, "Looks like you've got someone waiting for you, Lanor."

Lanor looked up and grinned when he saw Sira. He waved at her. "So it seems... what's up with you and Tahlee, Jessam? You've been like a bear with a thorn in his paw for the last two days..." Lanor decided to confront him about the strain everyone could see.

Jessam took several minutes to answer as he wiped the sweat off of his face and satiated his thirst. He knew that Tahlee went to the Healer's Guild that day to tend to Balathas, and he idly wondered what she had found out. "Nothing really." he finally said, taking another drink of water. "Just some differences about Balathas..."

Sira waved back and then settled down to wait for Lanor.

01-11-2009, 07:26 PM
Mandi was now impatient for two o'clock to get here. She thought they would be busy all the way up to that time but they were done a little early. Maybe she should seek out Sira and move the time up she thought. But then she thought that would be slightly suspicous since she's with Lanor. She will just have to be satisfied with the two o'clock start she decided.

Besides, she still needed to bring in the cake she bought earlier. She thought the huge Chocolate cake would be a favorite with everyone. So she headed back to her room where she'd hidden it and then checked to make sure no one was in the hall then brought it and took it to the room. She placed it on the huge table where cousin Lanor would be sitting

01-11-2009, 07:40 PM
Tahlee went to clean up and get ready for Lanor's party. She wondered if Kelphir would make it in. Their cousin Mandi had been trying very hard to make it a special day for him. Tahlee sighed, she really did not like it when Jessam was upset with her. Her whole world just was out of whack when he was angry with her. Her heart ached in deep places when he was distant or unhappy. She selected a gown and then gathered her things to go to the baths. Jessam was late. She wondered if perhaps he would rather not be around her. Finally she gave up waiting and hurried off.

01-11-2009, 07:43 PM
Jessam finally noticed the time and realized that he was late for meeting Tahlee to get ready for the party. Beginning to head toward the locker room, he glanced back at Lanor and said lightly, "Better not keep Sira waiting TOO long, Lanor." He then disappeared into the locker room and grabbed the change of clothes he had brought with him before heading into the palace and toward the baths. Finding Tahlee in one of the private baths, he entered and dropped his clothes onto the bench before hurrying over to her and wrapping his arms around her. "I'm sorry I'm late, my love." he said softly, hesitating for a few moments before saying, "I'm sorry for my distance as well."

01-12-2009, 07:34 AM
Tahlee broke into a brilliant smile. All of the ill feelings and depression disappeared in an instant. "It's okay Jessam. I was trusting my dragolians over the Stone. This time though, they were right. We found a very LARGE metallica worm embedded in Balathas. Odd but Sira's Stone did NOT react to the worm! Once removed Balathas could talk about Quentin sending him here. So we need to stay alert, Quentin is at it again." She took the cloth and began to scrub gently at his back.

"Sira said Chisk is flying here and bringing our little snow dragon. I find Quentin's timing uncanny..."

01-12-2009, 12:15 PM
Jessam only nodded as he listened to what Tahlee said. "Quentin's found a way to get around the Stone's detection?" he asked in shock. He sighed softly and once again apologized. "I'm sorry for not believing you..." He turned and wrapped his arms around Tahlee, pulling her close again. He was silent for a few moments and then pulled away slightly so he could look at Tahlee. "Chisk is coming down? Do you think Quentin knows about that?" A more troubling thought came to mind, but Jessam was loathe to say it out loud.

01-12-2009, 12:58 PM
"He couldn't possibly know about Chisk coming down. Chisk just told Sira..." Tahlee shrugged. She was glad her husband didn't think her insane anymore but she did miss her babies. This was torture being away from them and yet it had to be this way to protect them.

01-12-2009, 01:04 PM
Jessam only nodded and said, "I wouldn't put anything past him though..." He hugged Tahlee close again and asked softly, "How are you faring?"

01-12-2009, 01:14 PM
"I'm trying not to think about how much I miss them..." Tahlee replied softly, biting at her lower lip. Jesse and Samuel were with the dragons and then Jessam had been angry with her. Life had NOT been pleasant for Tahlee but she had continued to trust in EL that all would be satisfactory in the end.

01-12-2009, 01:22 PM
Jessam tightened his hug again and then said softly, "Maybe Chisk will bring news of them as well." He lapsed into silence for a few moments and then said, trying to change the topic to something more pleasant, "Do you think Kelphir will be able to make it for Lanor's party?"

01-12-2009, 01:35 PM
"I hope so for both of their sakes." Tahlee replied as she thought about her own sons, Samuel and Jesse.

01-12-2009, 01:38 PM
Jessam nodded and then released Tahlee before dunking himself and swimming a few feet away. He looked over at Tahlee mischievously and gently splashed her before assuming an innocent expression.

01-12-2009, 04:59 PM
Tahlee was very uncharacteristically quiet and did not rise to Jessam's teasing. She finished her ministrations and got out. She wrapped up in the thick robe and sat waiting for her body to dry enough she could get warm as her mind went over the day.

01-12-2009, 05:52 PM
Jessam frowned slightly and continued to wash off the sweat and grime that had accumulated during his teaching and practice in the arena, all the time wondering if he had done something wrong. When he had finished getting cleaned up, he climbed out of the pool and dried off before wrapping the towel around his waist, suddenly uncertain as to what he should do.

01-12-2009, 07:01 PM
Tahlee looked up distractedly. "Oh sorry are we ready to go get dressed for the party?"

01-12-2009, 07:19 PM
Now with everything in place, Mandi went to her room to get ready for the party. She went and took a quick bath and then returned to get dressed and get her brown hair right. She was satisfied with the hair and moved to her closet and looked between her dresses. She sighed looking at the black, blue, and red. She decided to go with the black dress and got dressed. Then headed for the banquet room with her present to Lanor. It was nearly time and she was ready.[attachment=0:3merw9ed]mandi.jpg[/attachment:3merw9ed]

01-12-2009, 07:39 PM
Tahlee looked up distractedly. "Oh sorry are we ready to go get dressed for the party?"

"Yes." Jessam said, looking over at Tahlee. He offered his arm to Tahlee and asked, "May I have the honor of escorting you m'lady?"

Sira met Lanor after he had finished changing and did her best to distract him until it was time to take him to the surprise party. "So do you have any plans for this afternoon?" she asked, looking up at Lanor.

01-13-2009, 03:09 AM
"I dunno, think I may just go rest for a while. Those elflings were wild this morning!" Lanor grinned and chuckled.

"Ummm yes..." Tahlee took Jessam's arm and walked with him back to their suite.

01-13-2009, 04:54 AM
Sira laughed as well and said, "Well...you looked good from what I saw. Want to go for a walk?"

Jessam frowned slightly at Tahlee's distractedness, still wondering if he was to blame for it. Once they arrived, he opened the door for Tahlee and then followed her inside.

01-13-2009, 10:19 AM
While those at the palace prepared for a surprise party for Lanor, Balathas remained at the healers guild. He was sleeping but he dreaming about the beatings that he received as a boy that broke him to do Quentin's will. He mumbled in his sleep crying for help but the words only were sounds to anyone walking around. Suddenly he sat up and looked around.

Just a dream...

He touched the amulet he was wearing. He didn't remember this amulet. Odd he thought. Wonder when he got it. Maybe it will return to him like his other memories.

He sighed and laid back down.

01-13-2009, 01:45 PM
"Do we have to? I'm very tired. How about we go to the gardens and lay down on the grass to watch the butterflies?" For Lanor that meant a nap.

01-13-2009, 02:09 PM
"That works...for a litle while at least." Sira said with a slight laugh. "Chisk is coming down with Chaya this afternoon, so we can't stay in the gardens for TOO long."

01-13-2009, 07:59 PM
"How long?" Lanor asked eagerly, wearing his lop-sided grin.

01-13-2009, 08:24 PM
Sira laughed and said, "Not that long unfortunately. We can go for a little bit at least."

01-13-2009, 09:26 PM
Lanor groused, "Ahhhhh, I'm so tired... maybe I should just go back to my quarters and sleep."

01-13-2009, 09:35 PM
"Not yet you're not." Sira replied, grabbing Lanor's hand and dragging him toward the gardens.

01-14-2009, 05:05 AM
"But Sira...." he protested wearily.

01-14-2009, 05:22 AM
Once Jessam was finished getting ready, he waited for Tahlee and then escorted her to the room that the party was going to be held in.

"Please Lanor? Can't you hold out for just a little while longer?" Sira asked, looking up at him, knowing that it was almost time for the party to begin.

01-14-2009, 07:10 AM
Mandi smiled when she saw Jessam and Tahlee. "Yay! You made it! They should be here soon. Does Lanor suspect anything Jessam?" she asked hopeful as she took Jessam by the arm and then took Tahlee's with the other. "Tahlee! It seems like ages since we got together." Then she added with a bright smile, "But I know you got a little bit busy with the married life and don't have as much time to hang out with us single gals." She chuckled.

01-14-2009, 08:31 AM
Lanor's grin faded and he sighed deeply. "Oh okay..." He yawned.

"It's having children Mandi. They take a lot of your time."

01-14-2009, 08:50 AM
Mandi smiled, "I suppose they do. But I wouldn't know since no one's been able to hold me." She giggled. Then added, "But you could get a babysitter every once in a while couldn't you? Or your really handsome husband could watch the kids for you so we could get together with Sira like we used to." Her elbow bumped Jessam in the ribs gently and smirked. "You'd do that for Tahlee, wouldn't you handsome?"

01-14-2009, 12:29 PM
"Yes I would." Jessam said with a laugh. "And no, I don't think Lanor suspects anything. They should be here soon though, so we best get ready."

"C'mon Lanor. It'll be fun." Sira said, entering the gardens and sitting down next to the pond. There was only a few minutes before they had to be at the party, and she was having a deuce of a time trying to think of ways to keep Lanor occupied without him falling asleep.

01-14-2009, 01:11 PM
She smiled brilliantly at Jessam, "I was sure you would Jessam." and then said to Tahlee, "See Tahlee? You have a handsome and wonderful husband here." Her hands clapped together. "Okay everyone! Jessam says they should be here any minute so get into your spots to surprise him." She chuckled. She grabbed Jessam and Tahlee's arms again and escorted them to her place to jump out of. "We can stay here."

01-14-2009, 01:14 PM
Lanor leaned over on Sira's shoulder. "Now stay right there for a while..." he murmured sleepily.

01-14-2009, 01:24 PM
"Come on, Lanor." Sira said, shifting slightly so she could stand up and pull on Lanor's arm. "There's somewhere that we need to be..." Once she was sure that she had Lanor's attention, she started to pull him back toward the palace, heading toward the room the party had been set up in.

01-14-2009, 05:50 PM
"Why are you being such a pest Sira?" Lanor looked over at her sleepily.

01-14-2009, 05:57 PM
((Mandi takes note... next year, sleeping pills, smelling salts, and a stretcher are needed))

01-14-2009, 06:30 PM

I can't tell you why. Sira thought as she continued to drag Lanor inside. She slowed slightly once they got inside and headed toward the room that the party was being held at. "You can nap later Lanor." she said, looking up at him with a smile.

01-15-2009, 06:51 AM
Lanor groaned with exaggerated frustration at Sira for not letting him rest when he was SO tired. 'Why do I always let her do this to me?' he thought grumpily.

01-15-2009, 07:07 AM
Sira knew that Lanor was getting frustrated with her, but she only hoped that he would enjoy himself at the party. When she arrived at the room, she paused momentarily before opening the door and stepping inside, pulling Lanor after her.

01-15-2009, 07:18 AM
As Sira dragged Lanor in, Mandi jumped out and so did those paying attention and they all shouted "SURPRISE!!!!!!!" And then started singing happy birthday to him. Mandi had a brilliant smile on her face and was hoping Lanor was truly surprised.

You didn't expect a thing, did you?

01-15-2009, 07:29 AM
Lanor jumped back and his hand went instinctively for his sword. It took him a second or two to realize they were not under attack and relax. He shook a finger at Sira but smiled at everyone. He let his heart settle a little from the terrified thumping of a few seconds earlier. Taking a deep breath he nodded at Mandi. "No Mandi, I didn't suspect a thing."

01-15-2009, 07:32 AM
Sira only looked at Lanor with an innocent expression. She then kissed him on the cheek and said softly, "Happy birthday, Lanor."

01-15-2009, 07:40 AM
Mandi grinned merrily when he said he didn't suspect a thing, "I'm so glad, Lanor. Come sit here." She took his hand and Sira's and led them to the guest of honor position and in front of the cake that was ablaze with the number of candles representing Lanor's age and on the cake it read 'Happy Birthday Lanor! Honored guard of the Palace' in the icing. Mandi then said for everyone's benefit "Okay everyone the birthday boy needs to make a wish and blow out the candles." She eagerly waited for him to do so.

01-15-2009, 09:27 AM
Lanor blushed and leaned over to whisper to Sira. "I'm sorry about what I said before. I really AM tired..." He did as directed by Mandi if for no other reason than to get her to stop embarrassing him!

01-15-2009, 09:50 AM
Mandi was having fun and got the knife to cut the cake. "What'd you wish for? And what piece do you want Lanor?"

01-15-2009, 10:52 AM
Sira smiled up at Lanor and said, "It's alright, Lanor. You could always nap after the party though."

01-15-2009, 04:36 PM
Lanor grinned at Mandi. "You know better Mandi, it's bad luck to tell your wish!"

01-15-2009, 04:55 PM
Sira laughed and said, "Well...do you think it's gonna come true?"

01-15-2009, 05:15 PM
Mandi pouted when Lanor wouldn't tell her the wish. "Well okay then, do you want the slice with your name on it?" She had the knife ready to cut and start dishing out the cake.

01-15-2009, 05:23 PM
"That one with the big icing rose..." Lanor pointed to it and grinned.

01-15-2009, 05:39 PM
((hehehe that's what I always go for as well. I love the icing balloons and flowers...))

Mandi starting cutting his slice and said, "Okay, here you go cousin. Oh do you want some ice cream with it too?" She got out some vanilla and chocolate ice cream from under the table.

01-16-2009, 05:55 AM
"Not for me... the cake is sufficient. Thank you for all of this Mandi, Sira." Lanor grinned and dipped his head in appreciation.

01-16-2009, 06:42 AM
[i]Mandi winked, "You're welcome Lanor! It was fun. And after you finish your cake we have presents to open!" She smiled brilliantly and showed him the wrapped gift from her, "I think you're going to love it."

01-16-2009, 11:28 AM
"This party was enough of a gift Mandi, thank you." Lanor grinned and his blonde curly hair gave him a rather angelic look.

01-16-2009, 11:37 AM
Mandi laughed. Sorry Lanor but you're going to have to open it. She winked at him.

01-16-2009, 12:12 PM
Lanor did as he was told. He really would rather be in bed sleeping but he did not want to appear ungracious to his cousin or Sira.

01-16-2009, 12:24 PM
Mandi watched as Lanor opened the gift to discover a leather edition of Lord of the Pearl. The letters were embroidered with gold. She looked at his face, "Do you like it?"

01-16-2009, 01:21 PM
"Oh yes indeed Mandi! Thank you!" Lanor grinned and gave his cousin a hug.

01-16-2009, 01:26 PM
Mandi was all smiles when she saw his face. She could tell he was thrilled with the gift. "I'm so glad you like it! I had the bookstore order it special!" She waited to see what everyone else got her cousin.

01-16-2009, 02:05 PM
Sira stood up and went over to where she had hidden her gift earlier that day. Returning to the table, she handed the gift to Lanor and then said, "I hope you like it..."

((cyberwing, my brain suddenly just died. make it be something that Lanor wanted...but it can be whatever  :P ))

01-16-2009, 06:46 PM
Lanor unwrapped it and stared at the gift. "Thank you Sira." He was so embarrassed. He really did not enjoy his birthday for this reason. He did not feel he deserved any gifts.

01-16-2009, 07:14 PM
"Everything alright, Lanor?" Sira asked softly, with a slight frown.

01-17-2009, 07:02 AM
Mandi could also tell there was something wrong with Lanor and thought it was because he didn't like the party. She sighed wishing she had done it better.

01-17-2009, 07:16 AM
"No, nothing. Sorry ladies I'm just very tired." Lanor heaved a heavy sigh, then yawned.

01-17-2009, 07:38 AM
Mandi walked off and mingled for a little bit. Then came back to Sira and whispered in her ear.

Well the party's winding down. He can probably get his wish now. Probably more sleep.

01-17-2009, 10:02 AM
Sira nodded and then looked over at Lanor. Leaning toward him, she whispered, "You could probably sneak out now if you want. The party's winding down." She lapsed into silence for a few moments and then said, "By the way, I was telling the truth earlier. Chisk and Chaya are coming down sometime this afternoon if you'd like to meet our little Snow dragon."

01-17-2009, 01:43 PM
Scorch yawned and stretched her limbs. She had been grateful for the short nap, it had helped her to settle down enough to try and find her way out of this maze of caverns. But she was still agitated over the events that brought her here and she showed it as she let out a fiery snort. She would show them, every single one of them. She would work on her temper, she would become the best flier and fire breather out of the Fiery Dragons that they've seen. She'd show them all, including Chisk, and he would be so proud of her.

Scorch let out a sigh that reverberated throughout the cave. Who was she kidding? Chisk had no use for her other than to keep her far away from the forest. It would be better to stay in the cave, that way she wouldn't destroy anymore of the forest in a fit of rage over the teasing of the others. She couldn't figure out why they disliked her. Scorch thought the difference in her scales made her more attractive. All she wanted to do was find a mate and do as the other dragons did, was that so bad? Instead she only got grief and the reputation of gaining the quickest ill temper amongst her kind.

She didn't move for quite sometime, but the rumbling in her stomach told her she needed to get some food. For some odd reason, Scorch felt as if she hadn't eaten in centuries. Standing at her full height, which surprisingly seemed a little larger than last time, she began to work her way out of the maze and to the surface. Scorch was not yet aware just how long she had slumbered and she was in for quite a surprise.

She was rather pleased when she walked out of the mouth of the cave and into the fresh air. Maybe she was onto something when she thought about working on her temper. Now if she could only do that when dealing with the others. While Scorch was deep in thought she failed to notice immediately the changes to her environment.

01-17-2009, 01:57 PM
One of the hatchlings was playing nearby and saw the Fiery dragon emerge from one of the caves. Cowering behind a tree for a few moments, the young dragon scampered off, heading toward Chisk's home. "Chisk! Chisk!" the young dragon called when she saw the elderly Snow dragon with Chaya. Chisk looked over at the hatchling and listened as the hatchling explained what she saw. Chisk rumbled thoughtfully and then asked the young Green dragon to bring the newcomer to his home.

The hatchling nodded and then scampered off again to where she had left Scorch. Coming up behind her, she said, "Hi!"

01-17-2009, 02:12 PM
Scorch had begun to look around her and she noticed something odd. The trees, and the rocks, just about everything was oddly changed. She hadn't noticed the little green dragon spying on her and when she returned and suddenly shouted out hi in mind speak, Scorch about lit a tree on fire. She hadn't been expected it and when she turned, she was shocked to see a hatchling. Her eyes, a mixture of the bright and dark shades of her scales, fell upon the young green dragon.

"Hello young one, who do you belong to?"

01-17-2009, 02:15 PM
The hatchling only cocked her head at Scorch in confusion, not understanding what the Fiery dragon meant. After several minutes of silence, the young Green dragon finally spoke up and said, "Chisk wants to see you!" She then immediately scampered off, not waiting for a reply from Scorch, heading in the direction of Chisk's mountain home.

01-17-2009, 02:23 PM
Scorch's heart about dropped into her feet. What had she done now that would have Chisk wanting to see her? With an inward sigh, she followed the little green dragon. She stood before the great Snow Dragon, uncertain of what she had done. She bowed her head awaiting her punishment.

"You wished to see me Chisk?"

Why did he look so much older, was he sick? Scorch wondered what had happened in the last few hours that would make everything seem so strange.

01-17-2009, 06:58 PM
Chisk turned when he heard the strangely familiar voice and he just looked at Scorch silently for a few moments. The Fiery dragon standing before also looked familiar and he was trying to place where he had seen her before. His mind finally returned to the time of peace before Minok used the Stone and he remembered why this dragon looked familiar. "Scorch?" he asked in surprise. He only continued to look at the other dragon in shock and murmured, "Everyone thought you were dead..."

01-17-2009, 07:09 PM
Scorch's eyes slowly came up to regard Chisk with confusion.

"Dead?" "Why would they think me dead?" "I was only gone for a day."

Scorch groaned inwardly, this is what he wanted to see her about. She was in trouble for causing the others to think she had died within the caverns. What punishment would Chisk decree for her? Would she be banished?

01-17-2009, 07:15 PM
Chisk wondered what had happened to Scorch and he slowly shook his head. "Scorch... It's been 400 years since you disappeared. Everyone thought you had died with Minok's deception." Chisk said patiently, realizing that this would be a lot for the younger dragon to process.

01-17-2009, 07:28 PM
Scorch was speechless. She felt light headed and realized she was holding her breath. She let it out followed by a nervous set of hiccups.

"400 *hic*hund*hic* red years!" "Mi *hic* nok's de*hic*cep*hic*tion?"

01-17-2009, 07:31 PM
"Yes. Minok had found the Stone and used it against everyone. He nearly wiped out our entire race..." Chisk replied. He was quiet for a few moments and then asked kindly, "Where have you been?"

01-17-2009, 07:39 PM
It took Scorch several moments to get the hiccups under control. She had a hard time not averting Chisk's penetrating gaze. There was something about the Snow Dragon that made her want to be better. She felt ashamed at what she had to tell him, but she had never lied. Her gaze fell to the floor.

"I became angry with the others and I went into the caves to get away."

Scorch slowly looked back at Chisk.

"I got lost and became angry."

Her voice became even softer.

"I knew that I would never find the exit when I was that angry. So, I slept for what I had thought was only a day."

01-17-2009, 07:43 PM
Chisk listened silently and then nodded. "You showed great restraint by leaving instead of letting your temper control you. You did well young one, and I am glad that you survived Minok's deception." he said with praise. He was quiet for a few moments and then said, "Perhaps you should come with Chaya and me when we go down to Esgalostia later this afternoon."

01-17-2009, 07:51 PM
Scorch had wanted all of her life to feel accepted. I was hard to believe that Chisk would want her to join him in anything. But at the moment, her insecurities about herself were superseded by then need to be with the remainder of her kind. But how many were left, dare she ask? She never wanted anything to happen to any of them, she just wanted them to stop teasing her. She looked at Chisk.

"Ca...can I come with you?"

And then she asked a little more sadly.

"How.....how many of us are there?"

01-17-2009, 07:56 PM
"A lot more than there was thanks to the efforts of Tahlee and Sira. Thanks to them, we've gotten quite a few hatchlings running around. As for adult dragons...I'm afraid that there's only me, you, Salni, Miok, and Lukai. Everyone else was killed by Minok's deception." Chisk replied softly, looking around at the numerous hatchlings that were running around, playing.

"And yes. You are more than welcome to come with me and meet some of the elves in the city." He spotted a lone elven woman come out of one of the smaller tunnels and excused himself from Scorch for a few moments and walked over to her. He listened silently for several moments and then nodded before returning to Scorch.

01-17-2009, 08:02 PM
Tahlee and Sira, Scorch wondered who they were. Her heart sank when Chisk revealed the adult dragons that were left. All she had ever wanted was to be accepted and to find a mate, and now, how foolish had those dreams been. Scorch sighed, what was the purpose of her having lived then? If Scorch had ever felt really insecure about who she was and what she would be, it was right now. Not even Chisk's assurance of her going with them to some of the elves lifted her from the dark gloom that surrounded her, but she would go because she didn't want to be alone.

01-17-2009, 08:06 PM
Chisk sent some comforting thoughts to Scorch and then went with Chaya to get some things prepared. They returned several minutes later and Chisk said, "It is time to leave. Scorch, do you remember how to fly? Your wings may need some reminder after being dormant for so long."

01-17-2009, 08:16 PM
Scorch appreciated Chisk's attempt at comforting her, and she tried to not show that it was not helping much. When he returned, she stretched her wings in response to Chisk's question.

"I remember." She replied softly.

"We will find out if my wings do as well."

01-17-2009, 08:17 PM
Chisk nodded and then said, "Follow me." Leading the way out of the cavern, he paused in a clearing and then turned to look at Scorch. "Let me see you fly."

01-17-2009, 08:25 PM
Scorch followed Chisk to the clearing and nodded her head at his command. She unfurled her wings again and gave them a good stretch. With a mighty leap and a strong pump of her wings, she caught the current and began to climb. She was a little shaky at first and unsure if she would stay aloft, but she was determined. Within a few moments it was if every part of her remembered and she began building speed and challenging herself with various acrobatics. This small accomplishment was enough to give her a little moment of joy as she came in and landed next to Chisk.

01-17-2009, 08:27 PM
Chisk nodded approvingly and said, "Very good. Okay, now we are ready to leave." He unfurled his own wings and took to the air with Chaya following. Once he had gained some altitude, he banked and started to head toward Esgalostia.

01-17-2009, 08:31 PM
In days past, Scorch would have lived for the praise from Chisk, but as he took flight and she took her place along side him her heart still remained sad. What happens now? What would she do now that her life has so drastically changed.

01-17-2009, 08:37 PM
Chisk knew that Scorch was troubled, but he also knew that there wasn't much he could do about it. The other dragon would just have to figure out things for herself. The flight to Esgalostia only took a few minutes and soon he was landing in the palace of the courtyard. "Sira, Chaya and I have just landed in the courtyard." He told Sira as he folded his wings back against his body and nodded a greeting to Lukai and Miok, who were napping in the courtyard. Lukai and Miok looked at Scorch with curiosity, wondering who she was and why she looked somewhat familiar.

Sira brightened up at the news that Chisk had arrived and left the library, where she had been since Lanor's party had ended. Deciding to not bother Lanor just yet, she went in search of Tahlee and Jessam and let them know that Chisk and Chaya had arrived before hurrying out to the courtyard. She skid to a stop when she saw Scorch though, unsure of how to react since her only encounter with a Fiery dragon had been from Minok. She still had the scar from his claw as a reminder of that encounter. "Hello." she said with a slight smile before turning toward Chisk and Chaya. "You must be Chaya." Sira said to the smaller Snow dragon. Chaya only nodded a greeting, suddenly shy.

01-17-2009, 08:45 PM
Scorch landed softly next to Chisk and Chaya. She did not recognize Lukai but Miok looked familiar although she had a hard time placing him. Her insecurities were beginning to crowd in on her when Sira came into the courtyard.

"Hello." Scorch replied rather sad and withdrawn.

Perhaps coming was not such a good idea after all she thought.

01-17-2009, 08:48 PM
Sira looked over at Scorch and walked over to her. "I'm sorry if I offended you. You're just the first Fiery dragon I've seen since Minok." she said, initiating contact with Scorch as she tentatively reached up to rest her hand on Scorch's neck.

01-17-2009, 08:56 PM
How very unlike her, she knew that had this overwhelming grief not been consuming her she would likely have snapped at Sira. But had she not been earlier today, before the truth was revealed, talking to herself about being better? Scorch sighed, but for a dragon it was like a great groan. She did not want to cry in front of the others, but she was burdened with so much grief.

"You did not offend me." Scorch replied quietly.

01-17-2009, 09:00 PM
Sira smiled at Scorch and said softly, "That's good to know." She dropped her hand back to her side and then asked with a smile, "I'm Sira. What's your name?" Lukai decided she wanted some attention at that moment and stood up before walking up behind Sira and laying down again, wrapping her tail around the girl and pulling her close. Sira only laughed and playfully smacked Lukai's shoulder before looking over at Scorch again.

01-17-2009, 09:03 PM
Scorch was a little hesitant of saying her name. It had always been more of a badge of shame, but it had been used for so long, she couldn't recall her real name. She used her nickname as a way to try to show those that teased her that she was above their teasing.

"I am called Scorch." She replied almost ashamed.

01-17-2009, 09:07 PM
Sira smiled and said, "Nice to meet you Scorch." She wondered what was taking Tahlee and Jessam so long and glanced back toward the palace to see if they were coming yet. Shrugging, she looked back at Chisk and Scorch and asked, "Do you live with Chisk too, Scorch?" Chaya had wandered over to Miok and greeted him before continuing to explore the courtyard.

01-17-2009, 09:14 PM
Such a simple question and Scorch had no simple answer. Her home at been in the Himacha Mountains, but that home was probably no longer there. She had been building and caring for a nesting area in hopes of one day having a mate. The thought brought another great sigh from her.

"No." "My home had been in the Himacha Mountains near the valley."

But she had no home at the moment and she found that it was difficult to say.

01-17-2009, 09:16 PM
"So where do you live now?" Sira asked curiously, just lounging against Lukai.

01-17-2009, 09:17 PM
"I....I don't know." She answered quietly.

01-17-2009, 09:22 PM
"You can stay with me. I have plenty of room." Chisk said from where he had lay down. Chaya had completed her exploration of the courtyard and then came to lay down next to Sira and Lukai. Chaya felt a slight connection with Sira from the time that Sira had held her egg after they had found her in the small clearing near the human city.

01-17-2009, 09:25 PM
Scorch turned to regard Chisk, her eyes dropping to the floor.

"Thank you Chisk."

There was a strange sense of comfort being surrounded by the few dragons that were in the courtyard. She was used to the teasing and being alone, but this, this felt good.

01-17-2009, 09:32 PM
Chisk nodded and then said, "You're welcome." He looked over toward the palace again and contacted Tahlee. "I have some news for you, Tahlee." he told the healer, refusing to say anything else until she and Jessam were outside.

01-17-2009, 09:35 PM
Although Scorch had spent the last 400 years in slumber, she laid down beside the others. It was amazing how weary one can feel after such an emotional shock. But Scorch was gripped with the fear of sleeping for another 400 years, so she kept her eyes open and alert to her surroundings.

01-18-2009, 08:49 AM
Tahlee came hurrying out of the palace to see what Chisk wanted. He rarely spoke directly to her so when he did it had concerned her. Now she was filled with anxiety over her twins as she rushed toward the dragons.

01-18-2009, 03:01 PM
Jessam followed after Tahlee and then came to a stop next to her, waiting to see what Chisk had to say. Chisk looked at Tahlee and said, "Don't look so distressed, Tahlee. Ellethwyn wanted me to let you know that the twins are fine." He continued on with what Ellethwyn had told him about what the twins had been up to.

01-18-2009, 03:47 PM
When Tahlee went up to hug the big white dragon she saw the fiery dragon beyond and gasped.

"Is this one of the hatchlings? Already so big?" Tahlee asked, casting an admiring glance over the red dragon.

01-18-2009, 03:55 PM
Mandi followed Tahlee out of the palace after seeing her look of anxiety and out of concern came behind her. She knew something was wrong. When she saw the red dragon. She stopped for a second and swallowed. She had not seen this dragon before and she was nervous. Actually all the dragons made her nervous but she at least knew Chisk.

01-18-2009, 04:04 PM
"This is Scorch. She was around before Minok's deception, but only recently came out of where she had been hiding." Chisk said.

01-18-2009, 04:13 PM
Mandi was trying to remember when the deception of Minok occurred. It seemed like it was a long time ago. In a rather low voice, she asked, "How long ago was that?"

01-18-2009, 04:32 PM
"400 years." Chisk replied, looking over at Mandi. Chaya stood up to her full height and walked over to Tahlee and Jessam. Sira smiled slightly and said, "Tahlee, this is Chaya. The little Snow dragon we found near the Southern Sea."

01-18-2009, 04:41 PM
Mandi shook her head, "That's a really long long time to stay hidden." She wondered what she did for 400 years that kept her hidden.

01-18-2009, 06:02 PM
"400... then she is one of the original dragons?!" Tahlee gasped out. She looked shocked, awed and a little unsettled. The fiery dragons had caused a lot of trouble led by Minok... before he killed all of them. She wondered how Scorch managed to evade Minok's evil plans but made no mention of it. She would not be here with Chisk if she were evil.

"Chaya...it is an honor to speak with you. You were very small when last I saw you." Tahlee smiled warmly at the hatchling.

01-18-2009, 06:13 PM
Mandi finally asked the question that she was curious about, "How did you stay hidden for 400 years and how did you not get found by Minok?"

01-18-2009, 06:22 PM
Scorch lifted her head to look at Mandi. She really didn't feel like talking and she wasn't really sure she had an answer for her. There was a bit of apprehension from those around her, like Sira had shown. Scorch wondered what had happened while she slept. What had been Minok's Deception?

"I do not know. I went into the caves and laid down to rest. I only thought I had slept for a day." She replied quietly.

01-18-2009, 06:28 PM
Mandi's eyes widened and said, "You were asleep for 400 years and only thought it was a day? Wow. That was quite a nap." She laughed a little bit but it was hinted with nervousness at addressing the dragon.

01-18-2009, 06:34 PM
Scorch let out a sigh. A nap that had changed everything she had known. Again, she wondered what her purpose was in having survived.

01-18-2009, 06:38 PM
When the dragon sighed, Mandi put her hand over her mouth because she thought she upset the dragon by laughing. "I didn't mean to upset you by laughing. I do that when I get nervous. And I get nervous talking to dragons I don't know."

01-18-2009, 07:03 PM
"Oh my... how disoriented you must feel... almost all those you knew were slain by Minok... you poor thing..." Tahlee felt sorry for Scorch. She was probably very confused right now and feeling like she had lost her best friend and in a way... she had.

"I'm Tahlee of the Great Forest Gray Elves. I am an elven healer. This is Eltron and Neutron, Aura...Aura? They are dragolians we have only just now rediscovered. Aura, where are you?" The small golden dragolian landed on Scorch's head and chirped happily.

Tahlee gasped. "Oh Scorch I'm so sorry... Aura is a new hatchling and not the best judge of what to do and when. She must have thought she could restore some of your energy..."

01-18-2009, 07:18 PM
Scorch did not know if she was ready to deal with all of this at once, but she had no where to go. And how silly it seemed that one would want to be alone after having been alone for the last 400 years. She nodded her head toward Mandi and Tahlee in silent greeting.

It was then that the small golden dragolian landed on her head. It was not planned, but Scorch laughed slightly as Aura chirped away on top of her head. It was as if she were in the forest laying on the grass while the birds and smaller animals of the forest used her as a play ground.

"No, she is fine Tahlee of the Great Forest Gray Elves."

01-18-2009, 07:34 PM
The little gold dragolian scrunched her eyes shut and hummed. Waves of energy shivered downward into Scorch. She was indeed sending energy to the dragon. She didn't get much sent before she collapsed in an exhausted heap on top of Scorch's head with a slightly off key chirrup. Tahlee giggled.

"Aura, you are very small to tackle restoring a dragon... Eltron I think you may need to take her bug hunting..." Tahlee smiled at the comical little dragolian and shook her head. She looked more like a piece of gold jewelry perched on top of Scorch's head the way she was.

01-18-2009, 07:57 PM
The little red dragolian Ruby came flying by awkwardly. Rascal had been teaching her to fly and she was being forced to fly solo right now. She looked pretty pathetic. She swung around by Sira and suddenly flew straight at the stone again and bounced off it. She shook her head and chirped that her head hurt.

01-18-2009, 08:23 PM
Scorch felt the little dragolian's efforts to restore energy to her, it felt like a small tickle throughout her body. She laughed again. If nothing else, the little creature had made her feel better. Scorch had a weakness for the smaller creatures, perhaps one of the reasons why she had worked so hard at building her own nest. It was a motherly instinct she hid deep within her that most did not ever see. If those dragons that had teased her then could see her now, they would have either laughed or been shocked. Scorch was not known for her soft side, but then again, she had never really shown it to anyone.

01-18-2009, 08:30 PM
"Thank you, Tahlee. It is an honor to meet you as well." Chaya said politely. Chisk glanced over at Scorch and then said to Tahlee, "Yes, Scorch is one of the original dragons. But her temper issues were usually provoked by others. She is nothing like how Minok was."

Sira smiled when Scorch laughed and suddenly Rascal zoomed out from behind a tree and did several aerial tricks before landing on Scorch's snout. The dragolian cocked his head at Scorch and chirped a greeting, content to just sit there. When Ruby bounced off of the Stone again, Sira looked down at the little dragolian and then knelt down to pick her up. "Why do you keep on bouncing off of me, little one?" she asked softly, gently rubbing Ruby's head.

01-18-2009, 08:45 PM
Ruby chirped back at Sira telling her the stone calls to her. She purred as Sira rubbed her head. It felt good and she chirped contently. Now able to avoid the stone's pull since she wasn't caught unaware by it.

01-18-2009, 08:51 PM
Scorch stood very still, as Rascal landed on her snout. If the little dragolians purpose was to make her feel better, they were doing a good job. She had sat in the meadow's of the forest and felt this very way. It was therapeutic to her and she often did it after she had been angered by the others. Needless to say, she had lots of practice at this very thing and although she probably looked funny with the dragolian on her head and one on her snout, it was nothing compared to what she looked like in the forest covered with birds and small critters.

"Hello little one." Scorch replied to Rascal.

01-18-2009, 09:14 PM
Sira smiled down at Ruby and continued to gently rub her head. Looking up, she noticed Rascal on Scorch's snout and shook her head before saying, "The dragolian on your snout is Rascal, Scorch."

Rascal enjoyed the greeting and chirped again before starting to bounce, still on Scorch's snout.

01-18-2009, 09:21 PM
"Well hello there Rascal."

Scorch replied as he bounced on her snout. She tried to make sure she kept her head still enough to keep Aura from tumbling off.

01-18-2009, 09:25 PM
Soon Ruby was curled up in Sira's hand purring and slowly going to sleep. She was content with Sira's rubbing her head. Her tail had rapped around Sira's pinky.

01-18-2009, 09:26 PM
"Rascal, stop that!" Sira told her little dragolian. Rascal only chirped and continued to bounce, enjoying how "springy" Scorch's snout was.

01-18-2009, 09:29 PM
Scorch gave another chuckle.

"He is fine Sira." "A refreshing distraction from a 400 year old nap."

01-18-2009, 09:31 PM
Sira smiled slightly and said, "If you insist, Scorch. He can sometimes be a pest..." She knew that Ruby was going to sleep and stopped rubbing her head for a moment so she could stretch out her hand.

01-18-2009, 09:34 PM
Scorch lowered her head slowly to the ground, so as not to loose either dragolian.

"He is young, he will more than likely loose interest and move on to something else." She chuckled.

"And if he doesn't, I'll nap and he can bounce until his heart is content."

01-18-2009, 09:36 PM
Sira only laughed again and said, "You don't know Rascal. Bouncing on someone else is his favorite game. But he will soon decide to nap right where he is."

01-18-2009, 09:41 PM
"Then he can join Aura." "They are safe where they are, I will not move." She replied to Sira.

01-18-2009, 09:43 PM
Sira nodded and returned to rubbing Ruby's head. Rascal bounced for several more minutes before stopping and curling up on Scorch's snout, promptly falling asleep.

01-18-2009, 09:45 PM
Scorch laid still content for the moment to be the resting place of the tiny little dragolians.

"What are these little creatures?" "I don't recall ever seeing them before." She asked Sira.

01-18-2009, 09:47 PM
"Dragolians. They were once thought to be extinct... In fact, they're your smaller cousins and they have healing gifts." Sira explained to Scorch.

01-19-2009, 07:22 AM
Ruby continued to purr happily in her sleep as Sira continued rubbing her head.

Mandi was laughing at Rascal's mischief. "He likes to do that to my cousin Lanor too."

01-19-2009, 07:47 AM
"Dragolians." Scorch said as if testing the word.

She gave her first contented sigh since her awakening, as she had come to think of it. She laughed slightly, so as not to disturb Aura and Rascal when Mandi spoke.

"Will they grow much larger than this?" Scorch inquired.

01-19-2009, 08:02 AM
"Aura will grow more but Rascal is full grown, like Eltron here." Tahlee rubbed Eltron's head with a forefinger. "Aura is an energy restoration dragolian, Eltron here is sleep and rest, Neutron, the blue one on my shoulder can neutralize poisons. Prota is lavender, she's my pain relief dragolian, she is watching over my children while they are in hiding."

"So looks like little Ruby here is a red dragolian like Crimson... she would most closely be related to you Scorch. She has the healing power over blood..."

01-19-2009, 08:12 AM
Scorch listened thoughtfully to Tahlee. She grinned in understanding and appreciation of her little cousins. So little, but they held great power.

"Well, l will have to make sure that little Eltron knows I have had plenty of rest for awhile." Scorch laughed.

01-19-2009, 09:33 AM
Eltron let out a huge sigh and looked depressed. Tahlee laughed lightly and rubbed his head again. "You will be needed when the time comes Eltron. Don't be disappointed..." She tried to reassure the little dragolian.

01-19-2009, 03:37 PM
Mandi was still finding the antics of Rascal to be hilarious and was laughing. Then she realized she was the only one without a dragolian. She wondered why she never had one. Maybe she needs to correct this oversight.

01-19-2009, 04:51 PM
Rascal chirped when he heard Mandi laughing and took to the air, landing on Mandi's head. He mussed up her hair, like he always did with Lanor, and then returned to his perch on Scorch's snout. Curling up, he chirped again and then promptly went to sleep.

01-19-2009, 04:56 PM
Mandi hollered, "Hey stop that!" She reached up to grab him but he had already returned to Scorch's snout. She frowned at him and mumbled to herself, "Maybe I don't want a dragolian after all."

01-19-2009, 05:08 PM
Sira couldn't help but laugh and said, "Now you know how Lanor feels, Mandi."

01-19-2009, 05:14 PM
Scorch laughed. Her little cousins could be very mischievous.

"Perhaps he is just showing his affection for you." Scorch replied with laughter.

01-20-2009, 04:42 AM
Mandi looked at Sira, "I guess so." She look up at Rascal and shook her head. No wonder he hollers at him so much She tried to fix her hair.

01-21-2009, 01:39 PM
Tahlee started laughing at Mandi's situation so similar to her cousins! "Don't worry about it Mandi, Scorch is right, Rascal does that to make you laugh. It's just his way of showing affection."

01-21-2009, 02:11 PM
Mandi started to laugh.

He is a jokester isn't he.

She looked up at the snoozing dragolian.

So Scorch, you're not going to be doing any sleeping for a while right. We'd hate to lose you after just meeting you.

01-21-2009, 02:23 PM
Scorch took a deep breath, not so deep that it disturbed the her little cousins and thought about what Mandi has said.

"I don't plan on closing my eyes anytime soon. I am almost afraid of what will happen.I had not planned on sleeping for 400 years. I should be...." Dead was what she was thinking, but couldn't bring herself to say.

"Let's just say I don't understand how I slept that long."

01-21-2009, 02:30 PM
[i]Mandi laughed at her response and then suddenly it dawned on her. What if... Wouldn't that be something. Then she said,. " Maybe the cave you stayed in was magical and that's why you slept so long."

01-21-2009, 02:38 PM
Scorch really hadn't set out to want to dwell on the last 400 years of a life she had never lived. But she knew that she couldn't run from it forever. But she was sure that the cave wasn't magical, at least she couldn't tell if it was.

"I don't know. Maybe it had something to do with what Minok did all those years ago. I really don't have an answer right now Mandi." Scorch replied.

01-21-2009, 02:42 PM
"Oh well I was just thinking out loud." She shrugged and winked at Scorch.

01-22-2009, 06:06 AM
"Minok was controlling a great deal of power at that time. He could have done something to Scorch to seal her away for a later date and for an ulterior motive..." Tahlee replied.

01-22-2009, 06:41 AM
Tahlee's words brought Scorch's head up off the ground. She tried to be careful with her little sleeping cousins when she did, but Scorch was too struck by her words to not respond.

"Why would Minok......what purpose would he have for me?"

It was obvious that this thought did not sit well with Scorch.

01-22-2009, 09:18 AM
"You are quite the attractive dragoness Scorch... he may have desired you as his consort..." Tahlee tried to explain diplomatically'; her cheeks coloring a lovely pink as she did.

01-22-2009, 09:44 AM
Scorch was momentarily stunned by Tahlee's response. She never would have imagined this to be a reason why she had slumbered for 400 years. Minok never paid attention to her, let alone showed any interest. And considering Scorch's history with the other dragon's it seemed highly unlikely to her that this would be the reason. It had to be something else, but Scorch was obviously affected by Tahlee's words. No one, especially anyone of her kind had ever called her attractive.

"Thank you Tahlee, but I find that reasoning highly unlikely." Scorch replied solemnly.

01-22-2009, 10:51 AM
"Modesty becomes you Scorch but you are a fine specimen of a dragon. I think you may be underestimating yourself." Tahlee smiled at the shimmering, red dragoness.

01-22-2009, 12:57 PM
Mandi shook her head in agreement with Tahlee. "It wouldn't surprise me if Malak had designs on you. As she looked over Scorch.

01-22-2009, 01:28 PM
If only Tahlee knew just how her words sounded, if she had been there over 400 years ago to see how she was treated, she would understand.

"If this is what you believe, then I will trust your words."

Scorch's head shifted toward Mandi, her poor sleeping cousins being moved up and now to the side as she regarded the woman. If dragons had eyebrows, Mandi would see it arched out of questioning surprise.

"If he knows anything of my history, then I would be surprised if it even crossed his mind." Scorch replied to Mandi.

"Scorch is the name I remember, it is not my given name." "It was given to me as...." Scorch was ashamed to say.

"..as a way to tease me about my temper." "I kept it out of spite and I have lost my given name forever."

01-22-2009, 01:39 PM
Mandi's eyebrow did go up in surprise at that tidbit of information. "Really? You seem nice to me now that I got over my initial nervousness. So your nap must have changed you." She said with a smile.

01-22-2009, 01:48 PM
Scorch's head finally found the ground again. She had no explanation for her actions, other than she had always felt justified in her anger at the others. She never meant to burn down a portion of the forest, and all of the other destruction that had happened. The very thought of her past was starting to depress her.

"It has changed a lot of things." She replied sadly to Mandi.

01-22-2009, 02:02 PM
Mandi looked at Scorch sadly. "I didn't mean to make you depressed. I'm glad you're not destroying stuff in anger." She looked down thinking and said, "I like you and want to be your friend."

01-22-2009, 02:24 PM
Most of Scorch's reasons for being angry were all dead, but she was so used to that emotion that it might easily be be a natural response for her. Yet, here she was and there wasn't anything she could be angry about at the moment. In truth, she was still in shock at all that had happened. How do you get use to the fact you've been asleep for the last 400 years and then wonder if it was done to you for a reason. No, there were too many other emotions competing for release and anger wasn't one of them. Scorch could only hope that it stayed that way. She was a Fiery Dragon after all, her kind were known for their tempers.

"It will just take me some time to adjust is all, and I will be honored to be friends with you Mandi." "I've never really had one before." Scorch replied silently.

01-22-2009, 02:45 PM
Mandi smiled, "Well I'm pleased to be your first."

01-22-2009, 04:22 PM
Sira gently cupped Ruby in her hand and then walked over to Scorch and rested a hand on Scorch's neck. Rubbing the scales gently in a spot that she knew the dragons enjoyed she said softly, "We're your friends, Scorch. Nothing will change that."

Chisk looked over at Scorch and told her, "The little one is right. Other than the ones who teased you long ago, the rest of us liked you. Myself included, even when I had to reprimand you for something."

01-22-2009, 05:23 PM
"There you see Scorch you have awakened to a NEW life! Maybe you should have a new name as well...Garnet, Agate, Cuprite, Carnelian, Chalcedony, Red Beryl, Tourmaline... these are all gemstones with brilliant reds. So you have awakened to friends and a new destiny." Tahlee smiled at the dragoness encouragingly.

"Salni and Lukai both will welcome the company of another female dragon I'm sure! Especially with the eggs we found!"

01-22-2009, 05:29 PM
Lukai only snorted from where she lay and trained an eye on Tahlee. "You're forgetting about Chaya, Tahlee. But yes, we will enjoy the company of an other female."

01-22-2009, 06:08 PM
Mandi looks over at Lukai and frowns. She's being harsh tonight, she thought.

But then looked at Scorch, "I think a new name would be good so it fits the new you."

01-22-2009, 07:20 PM
Balathas opened his eyes at the Guild and sat up. He looked around the room he was in and wondered if anyone would come tell him to lay back down. He also wondered how much longer he was going to have to stay here. He really has no idea if its been a day or a week. He sighs. When did they say they were coming back? He couldn't remember.

01-22-2009, 07:24 PM
Sira noticed Mandi's frown and asked, "What's the frown for, Mandi?"

01-22-2009, 07:26 PM
[i]Mandi started to blush and barely above a whisper said, "I thought Lukai was a little mean to Tahlee there for forgetting Chaya."

01-22-2009, 07:36 PM
"Lukai was just teasing Tahlee. She wouldn't hurt a fly." Sira said with a smile. Lukai only snorted again and said, "No, I wouldn't. Flies are too small.

01-22-2009, 07:42 PM
Mandi looked relieved for a second, "Oh okay." But then Lukai said it was because flies were to small and her eyes widened again. "Um... you... um... wouldn't be upset with me would you Lukai?"

01-22-2009, 08:41 PM
Lukai only snorted again, a small puff of flame escaping from her mouth. Sira only laughed and said, "That's her way of joking with you, Mandi. She wouldn't hurt anyone unless someone hurt someone she cared for. Isn't that right, Lukai?" She walked over to Lukai and affectionately rubbed the dragon's neck.

01-22-2009, 08:48 PM
Mandi's eyes widened further in alarm with the puffs of fire. But she sighed in relief with Sira's assurance. But she looked at Lukai who didn't look like she was joking. "I hope you're right"

01-22-2009, 08:53 PM
Deciding to tease Mandi even more, Lukai yawned widely and took a deep breath like she was going to shoot out a jet of flame. Instead, she let the breath out slowly and just looked at Mandi smugly.

01-22-2009, 08:59 PM
Mandi swallowed hard at what Lukai was doing and thought she was going to be a roasted marshmallow until she didn't shoot the flame. Seeing that look, Mandi looked at the others, "I'm going to go back inside.. I'll see you all later"

She turned to go back to the palace.

01-22-2009, 09:05 PM
Sira shot Lukai a disapproving glance and then said, "Lukai was just fooling you, Mandi. She really wouldn't hurt anyone. Right, Lukai?" Lukai nodded and said, "Don't worry, Mandi. I really wouldn't hurt anyone unless it was Quentin. Honest."

01-22-2009, 09:11 PM
Mandi turned back and looked at the dragon and decided she was telling the truth. And said, "Okay. I believe you. I'll stay out here." She laughed nervously.

01-22-2009, 09:18 PM
"Thank you Mandi." Scorch replied

This was certainly not what Scorch had been expecting when she woke up, but if this was the results of sleeping for over 400 years, she liked it. She sighed happily as Sira rubbed her scales and she was deeply moved by Tahlee and Chisk. She had always looked up to the wise old Snow Dragon, and to hear that he liked her, it did something to Scorch, it made her feel good about herself. And then of course Tahlee brought up choosing a new name, this intrigued Scorch.

"Yes, a new name would sound appropriate for this occasion." "I shall have to put some serious thought into it."

01-23-2009, 05:57 AM
Mandi smiled up at Scorch and said, "you're welcome!" She was glad to make Scorch feel better. She looked over at Sira and winked. She was getting more at ease again now that Lukai wasn't threatening to roast her.

01-23-2009, 06:54 AM
Tahlee turned a serious expression to the great Snow Dragon.

"Chisk... I hate to bring up bad tidings at this meeting but we have discovered a spy from Quentin. He had a very large metallica worm. That's been removed but you know that means Ulcoquen is snooping around again. I thought you should be aware of it especially with Chaya here. Since he was after Chaya in the egg."

01-23-2009, 07:00 AM
"Thank you for telling me, Tahlee." Chisk said solemnly, looking over at the healer. "We shall be on the lookout for Quentin." Sira suddenly remembered something else and she looked over at the Snow dragon. "Chisk, there's something else. When the spy first infiltrated us, the Stone didn't detect anything out of the ordinary. So if Quentin's found some way to mask his character..." She left the sentence unfinished, unsure of how to continue. Chisk only looked at Sira silently and thoughtfully.

01-23-2009, 07:40 AM
((Balathas is feeling the unlove here))

Mandi looked at Chisk and wondered if he would have any ideas on how the spy fooled the stone. She was glad she wasn't inside the palace now or she'd miss it. But she also wondered, "So what's going to happen to the spy?"

01-23-2009, 08:21 AM
Scorch laid her head back down gently, and listened to the others. Having been asleep for over 400 years, she had missed a lot and she had no idea who or what they were talking about.

01-23-2009, 11:18 AM
"It is not his fault Quentin used him... if you must condemn him then you must condemn me, Jessam, Sira and Lanor for we have all been controlled by his horrible methods before ourselves." Tahlee reminded everyone.

Suddenly she looked up at Scorch for an idea had struck her. She moved over to the dragoness and whispered another name suggestion into her ear.

01-23-2009, 11:26 AM
Mandi blushed. "I didn't mean to condemn him. I just wondered." She looked down embarrassed at how her question had been taken.

01-23-2009, 11:35 AM
Scorch perked up at Tahlee's suggestion.

Scorch literally looked as if she had blushed as her scales darkened slightly.

"You would think such a name would be fitting for me?" She replied humbly to Tahlee.

01-23-2009, 12:32 PM
"Yes I do... for I see a newly awakening heart. What better name to celebrate it? I may not be able to speak to dragons like Princess Sira but I know the dragons have been important to Elves for millennium." Tahlee replied and reached up to gently stroke Scorch's scaled shoulder, looking her evenly in the eye.

01-23-2009, 12:37 PM
"I do not not what to say." Scorch responded.

"But I do like the name." She added.

01-23-2009, 06:55 PM
Mandi smiled brilliantly. "That is a wonderful name Tahlee. I like it!" She turned to Scorch, "I think it suits you too."

01-23-2009, 07:23 PM
Sira smiled over at Scorch and said, "I agree with Tahlee. That would be a nice name for you." She lapsed into silence for a few moments and then asked, "Tahlee? What about Balathas? How long will he be staying in the Healer's Guild?"

01-23-2009, 07:53 PM
Meanwhile at the Guild, Balathas sighed. He wondered when mealtime was. He felt like he hasn't eaten in weeks. But he didn't want to complain about it. Not after what they did for him.

01-24-2009, 11:19 AM
"It depends on how quickly he regains his strength. Where should he stay Jessam? Don't you think he should come to the palace where we can keep an eye on him?" Tahlee asked.

01-24-2009, 11:50 AM
Mandi listened to the conversation about the spy and when Tahlee asked for Jessam's opinion she looked at him and waited to hear what he thought.

01-24-2009, 02:31 PM
Lenya came into Balathas' room carrying a tray of luscious smelling food. "Hungry yet?" She asked cheerily. "How are you feeling now? Shall I call one of the rest and sleep dragolians for you this evening? They are a great help! If you are feeling better you may be out of here by tomorrow... just depends on how well you are doing."

01-24-2009, 02:37 PM
Balathas grinned broadly, "I'm famished. I was just wondering when I would get something to eat. " He thought for a second and decided that he would like that. He's like to see the dragolian in action, "Yes. I'd like to see what the dragolians do. So definitely yes I'd like you to call one for this evening."

He smiled again, "I still feel a little weird around my ear but I think I feel better. That was another thing I wondered about. Do you know if Tahlee and Sira will be returning?"

01-24-2009, 04:30 PM
Lenya laughed. "I think you can count on it."

01-24-2009, 04:36 PM
Balathas smiled, "Thank you Lenya.I'm looking forward to seeing them again now that I'm not so tired." He looked up into her eyes and smiled, "I really appreciate the treatment you're giving me." He eyed the tray of food she was carrying. There was so much there. "Is that all mine?"

01-24-2009, 06:48 PM
Jessam was silent for a few moments as he thought. Finally, he said to Tahlee, "I'll have to speak things over with Alyan, but yes, I think that having Balathas stay with us in the palace will be the best course of action. Especially if there's any chance that Quentin is on the prowl again. I'll send a message over to the Guild later for Balathas, letting him know what we've decided. Unless you and Sira would like to deliver it yourselves?"

01-24-2009, 08:07 PM
Mandi looked at Jessam and asked, "What if he's still an agent of Quentin? He fooled the stone once and he hasn't told us how. Should we be worried about about that?"

01-24-2009, 08:11 PM
"Another reason to keep him close by." Jessam said, looking over at Mandi. "But I don't think that he'd still be an agent of Quentin since we've removed the metallica worm."

01-24-2009, 08:13 PM
Mandi nodded, "Okay. I just wondered. " She was silent as she thought and then said, "I wonder if his story about the dragolian egg cave was true."

01-24-2009, 08:18 PM
"No idea. It might be...but there's really no way to know for certain without questioning him more." Jessam replied.

01-24-2009, 08:42 PM
Mandi nodded. "I suppose not. But it should be an interesting time in the palace as we try to determine if we can trust him." She smirked at some of the things that they might do to question him without him knowing.

01-26-2009, 07:11 AM
Lenya laughed at Balathas' reaction. "Yes Balathas, it's all for you. If you are still hungry afterward we will see about finding more. I thought this would be a good healthy start."

Tahlee nodded, "Yes Jessam I agree. Lanor and the other guards can keep tabs on Balathas' whereabouts much easier if he is here. I just feel like Quentin will be nearby... he is plotting something. We know from what Balathas said he IS after the twins. You know Quentin does not give up easily." She frowned unhappily.

01-26-2009, 07:28 AM
Balathas grinned, "Wow. This looks wonderful. Thank you." He took the tray from her and started eating. It was delicious and his eyes showed his enjoyment. It was really filling. He patted his stomach and sighed contently. He looked at Lenya and tiled his head. "So how did the Guild find out how to use the dragolians at the guild?" He waited with curiosity at how the guild found out about the dragolians powers.

01-26-2009, 07:42 AM
"Actually it was Tahlee. She figured out the large pearl-like stones everyone was using as jewelry were actually dragolian eggs. Thinking them extinct we had no idea. She seemed to be ultra sensitive to the tiny things when she was pregnant with the twins. She hatched the first one and figured out what they were. Then we started digging for information and found some ancient text hidden with Sira's mother Queen Melena," Lenya explained.

01-26-2009, 07:59 AM
Balathas was amazed, "This was all built up recently? I thought it had been here always..." He looked around at everything that had been built up. "I was expecting a legend from long ago. Tahlee did all this? Wow. It makes sense though. When I found the cave filled with the eggs there was rumors that Tahlee wanted any information she could get on them. They were the perfect way inside according to Quentin." His face blushed as he would rather forget about the past.

01-26-2009, 08:05 AM
Jessam wrapped an arm around Tahlee's shoulders and hugged her close. "We won't let him find out where they're at, Tahlee." he told her softly. Returning to his normal tone, he said, "Have you decided if you and Sira want to deliver the message personally, or should I send a messenger?"

01-26-2009, 11:49 AM
"I should probably go check on him and see if he has remembered anything." Tahlee looked up at Jessam with questioning eyes. She did not wish to make him unhappy so if he objected she would not go.

01-26-2009, 11:57 AM
Jessam nodded in agreement and then said, "Just take someone with you. I don't want you going about by yourself just in case Quentin is here and we don't know it."

01-26-2009, 05:10 PM
Tahlee's face fell, her heart aching. "Yes... I will do that..." She turned back to Scorch.

"I'm so glad you came with Chisk and Chaya, Valentine!" She smiled at her and winked. Eltron hrm'd and grunted at Tahlee from the top of Scorch's head.

01-26-2009, 05:20 PM
"Yes the Healer's Guild was always here... we used herbs but have found the dragolians are a very big help to us. We can heal more efficiently with their aid." Lenya explained.

01-26-2009, 05:21 PM
Jessam was quiet for a few moments and then bent down to whisper in Tahlee's ear, "Perhaps I will accompany you to the Healer's Guild, my love."

01-26-2009, 05:24 PM
Balathas suddenly looked like it all dawned on him and he understood. "Ah I see. That would explain why it looks so well established and doesn't seem like something that just started. So its sort of a reforming of the guild. Was Tahlee in the Guild when she made her discovery?"

01-26-2009, 05:43 PM
"Yes she was a member of the Healer's Guild but since she was being hunted by Ulcoquen and at the time his general, she could not stay with us and went into hiding."

Tahlee turned back to look at Jessam. "Are you sure?" she asked, but the hope in her eyes was hard to miss.

01-26-2009, 05:55 PM
Balathas frowned when she said she had to go into hiding because of Quentin. He replied, "Poor Tahlee. She's had to deal with him so often. Its just ridiculous that he won't leave her alone." He shook his head. "Something needs to be done about him. Something permanent so that everyone can live their lives without fear he's going to show up."

01-26-2009, 06:10 PM
"I know a whole city full of elves that will agree with you!" Lenya laughed.

01-26-2009, 06:20 PM
Balathas laughed, "I suppose so. Hopefully I'll be a help in helping that happen."

Mandi chirped in when Tahlee said she was happy Scorch came with Chisk and Chay. "I'm glad too. I've enjoyed talking with you Valentine and hope to keep talking to you in the future. So no long naps any time soon."

01-26-2009, 07:06 PM
Jessam nodded and said, "Of course I'm sure." He lapsed into silence for several moments, a plan forming in his mind. "In fact...how would you like to get away for a few hours?" he asked, looking down at Tahlee again.

01-26-2009, 08:20 PM
Valentine, she would have to get used this new name, but Scorch knew that she liked it. There had been a lot of pleasant surprises today and it helped to offset the terrible one. Valentine let out a contented sigh as her little cousins made themselves comfortable a top her head and snout.

"Thank you Tahlee and Mandi it has been a pleasure to meet you both."

01-27-2009, 05:30 AM
Mandi smiled at Scorch and then heard Jessam's question to Tahlee and gave him a smirk.

01-27-2009, 06:59 AM
Tahlee gasped and looked back at him. "Truly? You can break away? That would be wonderful!"

Eltron was very happy on his new perch and began to hum until Neutron whacked him with his tail. Eltron looked over at the blue dragolian indignantly and blew out his throat latch making him appear bigger and more menacing. Neutron matched him and began to bounce on his front legs letting Eltron know he was ready to take him on.

"Eltron! You will put Valentine to sleep and she doesn't WANT to go to sleep right now. Neutron was trying to make you remember that..." Tahlee giggled at the two dragolians who looked like they were about to get into a dragolian fight. "Now you two STOP that!" she scolded them gently and they both looked at her contritely.

01-27-2009, 07:03 AM
Jessam nodded and said, "Yes, I can." He lapsed into silence as he mulled over the plan and said, "We can either go tonight and stop by the Guild with the message or we can go tomorrow. Your choice my love." He would need a few minutes to make some preparations, but then he would be free for several days.

Rascal opened his eyes from his perch on Scorch's snout and grumbled at Eltron and Neutron, scolding them for interrupting his nap.

01-27-2009, 07:13 AM
"Valentine you don't have to put up with these ornery dragolians if you don't want to..." Tahlee replied with a laugh.

"How about tonight then?" Tahlee responded quickly.

01-27-2009, 09:04 AM
Jessam nodded and then said, "Then I'll go get things prepared. I'll meet you at the stables in an hour." He then kissed Tahlee and then excused himself from the others before heading back inside to get things prepared. Heading upstairs, he went to their suite and packed a bag for each of them before heading toward Alyan's office to get the message prepared. Once that was ready, the last thing he needed to get was the food he had asked the cook to prepare for him and Tahlee.

Jessam had known for several days that he would be able to get away for a few days, but it only occured to him that morning on what he wanted to do. I hope she likes it... he thought as he shouldered the bags and picked up the basket that had the food. He then went to the stables to get their horses prepared so that everything would be ready for when Tahlee arrived.

01-27-2009, 01:46 PM
Mandi looked at the gate, "Hey I wanted to head back to the market and pick up some things. Anybody need anything or want to come too?" She looked at those around.

01-27-2009, 02:12 PM
Tahlee excused herself from the dragons, then she headed off to go check on Balathas.
"Come on Mandi, I'm going to go check on Balathas. Sira? Did you want to come with us or do you want to stay with Chaya?"

01-27-2009, 02:16 PM
Mandi nodded, "Okay. Great its nice to have someone to go with. Maybe I'll just go all the way to the Guild with you. I haven't met the former spy yet."

01-27-2009, 02:18 PM
"I'll come." Sira said as she hurried to follow Mandi and Tahlee. Jessam appeared at the door of the stables and walked over to Tahlee. "Here's the message for Balathas." he told her. "I just have a few more things to prepare, so I'll catch up with you in a few moments. We should be ready to leave as soon as we return to the palace grounds."

01-27-2009, 02:38 PM
"I can wait Jessam... I just want to check on his progress. That metallica worm was truly the largest I have EVER seen. It's a wonder he is not mad from the size of its tentacles..." Tahlee shivered remembering the hideous thing.

"Come on Eltron, you better come with me. I need to watch you and Neutron..." Tahlee rolled her eyes at the two dragolians and they both snuffed as if insulted.

01-27-2009, 02:53 PM
Mandi smiled and waited for the the dragolian to come down to Tahlee. "I think they're upself" and she laughed.

01-27-2009, 03:32 PM
Valentine laughed. She loved her new name and she loved hearing it. Her little cousins amused her, it was like living a 400 year old dream, except these were dragolians. But it didn't bother her, in fact it put her at ease and she liked the idea of being the nesting area of her little cousins.

"They are not a bother Tahlee."

01-27-2009, 03:55 PM
Jessam nodded and then said, "I'll be back in a few minutes then." Returning to the stables, he quickly finished saddling the horses and set them aside with the rest of their stuff for when they returned. Returning to the courtyard, he walked over to Tahlee's side and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "I'm ready when you are, my love."

01-27-2009, 06:40 PM
"I hope you will stay with us Valentine." Tahlee called to her and waved. "I have a job for Eltron. Balathas probably will be in need of rest."

Neutron however refused to budge. He was staying with Valentine and snuggled down for a nap. Eltron flew around Tahlee's head and landed on her shoulder chirping happily.

When Jessam came up to her Tahlee turned a brilliant smile to him. "Okay then let's go check on the patient!"

01-27-2009, 06:58 PM
Valentine laughed.

"I will not be going anywhere anytime soon with these little ones making themselves at home." Not that it bothered her at all. Valentine was right where she wanted to be at this moment.

01-27-2009, 07:00 PM
Mandi nodded her head, "I'm ready to go if you are" She had enthusiasm in her voice.

01-27-2009, 07:05 PM
"Me too." Sira chimed in. Jessam nodded and then started to lead the way out of the courtyard and into the city, heading toward the Healer's Guild.

01-27-2009, 07:32 PM
Mandi followed out of the palace grounds behind Jessam and Tahlee. As she went out of the gate she winked at the guard and looked around. She almost felt like someone was watching her but that was impossible. No one was expecting her to go back to town. She sighed and laughed to herself and continued on with the others. Its nice out here today isn't it?

01-27-2009, 07:35 PM
"Yes it is." Sira said with a smile. She always enjoyed getting away from the palace, and this time was no exception.

01-28-2009, 07:06 AM
Mandi rode the horse provided by Jessam but she looked very uncomfortable and her body looked like it fought with the horse the entire time because of how she sat so stiff. She simply was not used to riding and walked most of the time and really didn't know what she was doing.

She stayed with them as the reached the marketplace, "I'll get my things later. I want to meet this spy."

01-28-2009, 11:04 AM
Tahlee walked into the front hallway of the Healers Guild and met Lenya on the way out.
"Ah Tahlee, I was just going to have dinner with Alyan. Balathas has awakened, had a big dinner and seems to be feeling much better. He has been asking when you and Sira might come visit. I'll be back in a little while. Oh I see you brought Eltron! Good, I was going to have to find someone with a green dragolian to bring him rest." Lenya chatted with Tahlee as she got on her cloak.

"See you all later!"

"Bye Lenya!" Tahlee led the way toward Balathas' room.

"Well, good evening how are you feeling Balathas?"

01-28-2009, 11:48 AM
Balathas smiled when Tahlee entered, "I'm feeling much better. Oh the food here is wonderful. I don't think I've ever eaten so well. And I've found out about the history of this place and that you were the one to figure out what the dragolians eggs were. It was fascinating.

And Lenya thinks I might be well enough to leave tomorrow." He was enthusiastic and it could be seen on his face and heard in his voice.

01-28-2009, 12:55 PM
Tahlee smiled. "That was just a fluke. I heard the wee voices calling out to me for help."

01-28-2009, 01:00 PM
Balathas blinked, "Really? You heard them through their shells? I bet they weren't to happy to be worn as jewelry."

01-28-2009, 01:56 PM
Jessam had stopped at the doorway when they entered Balathas' room and was just observing things silently. When Balathas said that he might be able to leave the next day, he finally spoke up with, "We would like to extend you an offer to stay with us in the palace. Arrangements are already being made and all that would need to be done is to move your things from the inn to your new quarters in the palace."

01-28-2009, 02:42 PM
Balathas was shocked when Jessam made the offer, "Really? Wow thanks. That would be great. I don't have much. Just the things in my saddle bags and the the books I bought at the book store. I wanted to learn more about dragolians and found a book there. Something tells me that I'll have a better source from all of you." He grinned.

01-28-2009, 03:57 PM
Jessam nodded and said, "Very well then. We can have someone move your stuff over to the palace for you either this evening or in the morning. So all you'll have to do is come to the palace when you get out."
