Molly Haron

::Molly speeded to the hosptial. She parked right in front of it, not caring about tickets or being yelled at. She quickly opened her door and went to Frank's side. She opened his door.::

Let's get you inside.

Jason Sanborn
06-28-2004, 12:39 PM
A paramedic was nearby when Molly sped up. Even before they got out of the car, he knew something was wrong, from the bullet holes he saw in the car, and the broken windshield. He shouted for assistance and ran up to the car.

Don't move him too quickly, ma'am.

The paramedic ran up, and two other emergency room nurses ran out with a gurney.

He's lost a lot of blood. What happened?

He asked as he was helping the nurses carefully pull the barely concious Frank onto the gurney.

Molly Haron
06-28-2004, 12:41 PM
::Molly watched as they took Frank from her. She was about to cry and looked to the paramedic.::

He got shot in the stomach. Please don't let him die...

Jason Sanborn
06-28-2004, 12:44 PM
The doctors will do what they can.

The paramedic replied as the nurses ran into the emergency room with Frank on the gurney. He notices the wound on Molly's shoulder.

Were you shot as well?

Molly Haron
06-28-2004, 12:47 PM
Frank...

::Molly watched, feeling helpless, as they took Frank into the emergency room. She wanted to follow them. She looked to the paramedic and then looked at her wound.::

Yeah...But it does not hurt much.

::Not as bad as the when she got shot in the leg. Her wound was nothing compared to Frank's.::

Jason Sanborn
06-28-2004, 12:49 PM
The paramedic takes a look at the wound on the shoulder.

Looks like the bullet passed through. You'll need to get that stitched up. Come inside, and we'll get you admitted right away, before you lose too much more blood yourself.

Molly Haron
06-28-2004, 12:51 PM
I don't care about that...I want to be with Frank...He needs me with him.

::Molly told the paramedic. But she knew they wouldn't let her do that. The paramedic would see to her as doctors tried to save him.::

Jason Sanborn
06-28-2004, 12:53 PM
The paramedic nodded.

I understand, but they need to take Frank to emergency surgery. You'll be able to see him when they are done. Right now, we need to take care of that bullet wound in your shoulder.

Another male nurse had come out to escort Molly into the emergency room.

Molly Haron
06-28-2004, 12:59 PM
::Molly wanted to scream that he didn't understand, but that would do no good. Afterall she was sure the paramedic was going to call the cops. All of the police department could come and Molly wouldn't care right now. She just wanted to know Frank was okay. She lost Justin, she couldn't lose Frank.::

But...

::Molly tried to protest but she knew she had no choice. She didn't argue as she was escorted with the male nurse.::

It's really not that bad. Honest. It doesn't hurt much.

Jason Sanborn
06-28-2004, 01:03 PM
The paramedic and the male nurse walked Molly into the emergency room. The male nurse answered Molly's statement.

It might not hurt, but you're bleeding heavily. We need to stop the bleeding.

The nurse pointed to a chair.

Please sit here.

He didn't even look to see if Molly listened to him. He just went to a cabinent to pull out some gloves, anitseptic, and gauze.

Molly Haron
06-28-2004, 01:13 PM
I know...

::Molly sat in the chair as asked but she really could not stop shaking. The thought of Frank alone with those doctors bleeding to death.::

Jason Sanborn
06-28-2004, 01:17 PM
As the male nurse began to clean Molly's wound, the paramedic pulled out a form and a pen.

I need to get some information from you. Let's start with the easy questions. What is your name?

Molly Haron
06-28-2004, 01:19 PM
::Molly looked at the paramedic. She would say she was Frank's wife. It be the best way.::

Molly Knome.

Jason Sanborn
06-28-2004, 01:20 PM
And the man who was with you? His name?

Molly Haron
06-28-2004, 01:22 PM
Frank Knome. He is my husband.

::She then gave their ages and their address, which was her old place. She didn't live there anymore but the paramedic didn't need to know that. Some stuff was lies and things like Frank's age was the truth. She was a cop so she already knew the easy questions he was going to ask anyway, but she still answered as best she could.::

What else do you need to know?

Jason Sanborn
06-28-2004, 01:25 PM
The paramedic wrote all the information down as he was given it.

For my report, I need to know what had happened.

He knew he probably wouldn't get the whole story. Most people didn't give a paramedic enough information. Regardless, though, he had to get something, so he could report it to the police, so they could come out and get more detailed information on what had happened.

Molly Haron
06-28-2004, 01:28 PM
::"Great." Molly thought. She looked to him.::

Frank and I were...We were doing a job and I don't know...All the sudden people were shooting us...We had to get out of there and we both got shot...

::She took a deep breath.::

When can I see my husband?

Jason Sanborn
06-28-2004, 01:33 PM
The paramedic wrote down the information.

After they get his condition stablized. It will be alright.

The paramedic put his pen back in his metal clipboard.

Thank you, Mrs. Knome. Please do what the doctors and nurses say. It's for your benefit.

The paramedic smiled and walked out of the room, leaving Molly with the male nurse who was finishing putting some gauze to keep the bleeding at a minimum until the doctor could stitch the wound closed. Outside the room, the paramedic walked to the nurses' station and picked up the phone to contact the police.

Molly Haron
06-28-2004, 01:36 PM
::Molly looked at the paramedic.::

I'm sorry I can't be more help for your report right now. I can't think straight worrying about Frank...

::She nodded her head to him. "Frank please be okay..." She hoped he was stablized soon. She didn't know what she would do if he...Molly watched him leave the room and looked to the nurse.::

You wouldn't happen to know what they are doing to my husband right now would you?

Jason Sanborn
06-28-2004, 01:41 PM
The nurse lookd at Molly after attaching a plastic bracelet with her name on her wrist.

He would be in emergency right now, and the doctors will be checking the extent of his injuries. The lead doctor will see you as soon as they know more. For now, you should come with me. This gauze is only temporary. I will get a doctor in to stitch your wounds as soon as possible.

The nurse led Molly into the emergency room further, and motioned to a bed.

Please lie here and I'll get the doctor for you.

Molly Haron
06-28-2004, 01:43 PM
::Molly just wanted to know Frank was okay. She hated how hospitals worked. She rather be bleeding than have Frank die. She followed the nurse and laid on the bed. She looked around the emergency room and wondered why she and Frank thought it be a good idea to see Mr. Monet. It had been crazy and Frank could die because of it.::

Detective Jenkins
06-29-2004, 05:32 AM
He felt bad about leaving Angela.

Not so much leaving her at the club but more about leaving her presence. Ever since he met her, she's brought a sense of adventure into his life. An almost wild and erotic excitement that he never knew he missed. Although some of those times have led to some strange situations regarding a certain zombie arm, he truly was a bit enthralled by her.

But duty called yet again. And he answered.

That is why he is here at this hospital. To follow up on a person he had met once before. After flashing his badge at the appropriate personnel, he made his way to the room where he was and knocked on the door.

Molly Haron
06-29-2004, 08:41 AM
::Molly hated waiting. She could care less about her wound needed stiched up. She wanted to know if Frank was okay. He had to be. He was her best friend. She would never forgive herself if something happened to him...This was the second time they got shot. Frank again getting the worser injuries. She hated this. Molly remembered how she been acting to him for the last few weeks and wanted to hit herself. She been so focused on Ulfric instead of Frank. Frank could die and....She shook her head.::

Frank please don't die...I'm sorry....

::Molly didn't know what she would do if he did. He had to live. He just had too. She heard someone knocking on the door. Maybe it was the doctor. The doctor who was going to tell her about Frank.::

Hello?

Detective Jenkins
06-29-2004, 12:12 PM
He entered the room after someone answered his knock and found a woman inside.

"I'm looking for Frank Knome. Do you know where I can find him?"

Molly Haron
06-29-2004, 12:15 PM
::Molly looked at the man. A detective. She could tell.::

He is in surgery. And if they won't let me in, I know they sure as heck won't let you.

Why do you want to see him?

::That was Molly always protecting Frank.::

Detective Jenkins
06-29-2004, 12:56 PM
He raised both his eyebrows at her surprising tone. He glanced around the room as if he was looking for something while he answered her...

"Ma'am, I'm here on official business. Name's Detective Jenkins. Mr. Knome helped me out some time ago by passing me a disc. I'm here to check up on him."

Molly Haron
06-29-2004, 01:23 PM
I'm very sure it is official business.

::The police department must have sent him here. She saw him looking around and she looked to see if that head doctor was coming. She looked at him. Funny Frank never mentioned meeting a Detective Jenkins before...::

Well that check up will have to wait.

Jason Sanborn
06-29-2004, 03:17 PM
A grey haired doctor walked into the room.

Mrs. Knome? I'm Doctor White.

He noticed Detective Jenkins standing in the room as well.

And you are?

Molly Haron
06-29-2004, 04:49 PM
::Molly looked at Jenkins.::

He is a detective but he'll have to wait until later to do his job.

::Molly then looked to the doctor. She hoped this was the one who tell her about Frank.::

Doctor White, please tell me how my husband is doing. When can I see Frank?

Jason Sanborn
06-29-2004, 05:58 PM
Your husband is in critical condition. There isn't much more I know at this point. I am here to sew up that hole in your arm.

The doctor walks up to Molly to take the gauze off her arm.

Now let's see what your shoulder looks like.

Detective Jenkins
06-30-2004, 05:53 AM
He stayed there silently as their exchange was going on. Already he learned that this woman was Mr. Knome's wife, though he found that kind of odd. Married couples have certain telltale signs. Though this woman was exhibiting the normal signs of concern for the man, something didn't ring true. Like say, her lack of wearing a ring on the appropriate finger. Or the fact that when he visited Mr. Knome's house there lacked a definitive female touch to the decorating. She went through this for a reason though and so he figured that he would play along for now. He was patient...

"All the same Mrs. Knome, I'm gonna hang around until I get some questions answered. Unless you want to answer them for me?"

Molly Haron
06-30-2004, 07:55 AM
::Frank was in critical condition....Molly had to see him. See for herself how he was.::

But I don't care about my shoulder! I just want to see Frank. Why don't you go help the other doctors with him instead of worrying about me?

::Molly looked to Jenkins. How did Frank know him? He would stick around and he knew that she wasn't really Frank's wife.::

Why don't you answer something for me then if you want to stay so bad? How do you know Frank? He never mentioned you before.

Jason Sanborn
06-30-2004, 09:13 AM
The doctor looked at Molly.

There are doctors handling Frank's situation right now. I would only get in the way. You will be able to see him as soon as his condition is stabilized. Now please, let me tend to your shoulder.

Molly Haron
06-30-2004, 09:26 AM
Well it better be soon.

::Molly sighed. She was getting so stressed out, she didn't care about her wound she just wanted to know if Frank was okay. She hated hospitals.::

Go ahead and tend to it then...

::Molly said to the doctor.::

Detective Jenkins
06-30-2004, 11:43 AM
Reaching into his jacket pocket LJ pulled out a toothpick and placed it in his mouth. He fiddled with it for a few seconds while the doctor was trying to help out Mrs. Knome and her injury as well as coping with her sharp but understandable attitude.

"They'll get you word as soon as they're able to, I assure you ma'am. And as I said before, he gave me a disc that helped an investigation I was on. It was a brief encounter so I'm not surprised that he hasn't mentioned me. What happened to him?"

Molly Haron
06-30-2004, 12:18 PM
I know that...It's just....Frank and I have been through so much together. I can't picture my life without him in it.

::Molly frowned a moment and thought back. The last few weeks she had been terrible about paying attention to Frank. Ulfric had been on her mind. Funny, right now all she wanted to do is be at Frank's side and Ulfric was the last thing on her mind.::

Wait you are that detective? He mentioned you a little....My mind isn't thinking straight right now...

::She looked at Jenkins.::

Frank was shot in the stomach.

Detective Jenkins
06-30-2004, 12:43 PM
He softened his tone a little.

"So he did mention me. Hmmm. Look, that's not important right now. What's important is finding out if he's alright. Now I'm sure that when the doctors find something out they'll come right out and tell you. BUt what I need you to do right now is calm down a little. Just a little bit. No need to work yourself up, he's got the best care in there taking care of him. It will be fine, you'll see."

Jason Sanborn
06-30-2004, 12:47 PM
Dr. White removed the blood soaked gauze from Molly's arm. Her wound was still bleeding heavily.

Looks like the bullet passed clean through your arm. That is good.

As he was speaking, a female nurse entered the room pushing a cart of medical supplies and surgical equipment. The doctor looked at Detective Jenkins.

Would you mind waiting outside while I stitch up Mrs. Knome?

Molly Haron
06-30-2004, 12:48 PM
::Molly felt bad for blowing up at the detective he was doing his job.::

I'm sorry...It's just that...I know Frank is good hands but he needs me.

::Molly's anger was pretty much spent and she was about to cry. She looked at Jenkins.::

Detective, after I find out how Frank is and I see him...I'll answer your questions. I can't think straight worrying about him...Not knowing what is happening.

::Molly looked at the doctor.::

I'm sure I'm lucky.

::Frank wasn't lucky right now.::

Detective Jenkins
06-30-2004, 12:54 PM
"No apologies needed ma'am. Frankly I'd be suspicious if you hadn't reacted the way you did. But look, I'll be just outside making some calls. If you need anything, let me know."

Molly Haron
06-30-2004, 12:59 PM
::Molly nodded her head to him. It's was kind of funny how quickly Molly took to people saying she was Frank's wife. It seemed almost natural...::

I will.

::She watched the detective leave and looked to Doctor White.::

Are you almost done stitching it up?

Jason Sanborn
06-30-2004, 01:02 PM
Once Detective Jenkins had exited the room, the doctor returned to Molly.

I'm going to cut away part of your shirt and, if your bra has straps, I will be cutting it as well. I need to make sure the area is clear of any obstruction so I can stitch the wound closed. Pam here will be putting an IV in for the pain medication and to put blood back into your body.

The doctor took a pair of scissors from the nurse, Pam.

Molly Haron
06-30-2004, 01:05 PM
Do whatever you have to do.

::Molly was wearing one of the expensive shirts she had bought with Ulfric's money the time she and Frank had gotten makeovers. Oh well.::

You will give me another shirt to wear when you are done right?

::She didn't care about the IV she had one before. She held out her arm for the nurse to put it in.::

Detective Jenkins
06-30-2004, 01:06 PM
He nodded back at her and left her room. In the hallway he took a deep sigh and looked around out of habit. He didn't take too well to hospitals. It had an eerie sanitary aura about it. He calmly walked over to the waiting area and pulled out his cellphone to talk to some of his contacts. Maybe they could tip him off to whatever happened to Mr. Knome.

Jason Sanborn
06-30-2004, 01:14 PM
We'll worry about that later.

The doctor said with a smile. Pam put in the IV and began asking Molly questions about her allergies and her blood type. When the doctor was satisfied that Molly had enough morphine in her system to deaden the pain, he began to stitch up the bullet wound. The entire process lasted about two hours. When he had finished, the nurse made sure her bandages were on securely, and replaced her torn shirt with a standard hospital gown.

Ok, the wound is closed. The doctor told her as the nurse was securing the bandages. You will need to have your regular physician remove the stitches in two weeks. In the meantime, try not to move that arm too much. You don't want to break a stitch. Absolutely no lifting of any kind.

Molly Haron
06-30-2004, 01:22 PM
::Molly answered all the needed questions and looked off into space as the doctor stitched her up. It took forever and still no word of Frank. God...what could be wrong with him...She looked to the doctor who was done.::

Yes, I promise. No lifting. Is there any word on Frank yet? I've been waiting forever...

Jason Sanborn
06-30-2004, 01:25 PM
Well, after Pam is finished in here, she can check for you. Now, I have to get to other patients. Good evening, Mrs. Knome.

With that, Doctor White exited the room, leaving Molly in the room with the nurse, Pam.

Molly Haron
06-30-2004, 01:26 PM
Good bye doctor.

::Molly looked to Pam.::

I'll be fine. Please see how Frank is.

Jason Sanborn
06-30-2004, 01:34 PM
I know you'll be fine, but I have to finish making sure everything is in order before I leave. Just give me a couple minutes.

Pam changed a couple bags on the end of the IV and made sure that all the monitors were giving correct read-outs. Once that was done, she walked out of the room and into the waiting room where Detective Jenkins was waiting.

Detective, Mrs. Knome can take visitors again. Let her know I will check on the status of her husband.

Molly Haron
06-30-2004, 01:39 PM
::Molly just sighed. Frank wasn't okay, she knew that. Why else would it be taking so long for them to tell her anything. What happened to him? He already had OCD, what other curve ball did life decide to throw his way? Whatever it was, Molly would stay by his side and help him. He wouldn't be able to function with out her. He saved her life again today, but that wasn't the only reason she wouldn't leave him.::

Detective Jenkins
06-30-2004, 07:47 PM
"Thank you miss. I'll go right in."

He walked back up to the door and knocked again.

Molly Haron
07-01-2004, 07:59 AM
::Molly looked over to the door. She didn't have to ask, the only visitor she had was Detective Jenkins.::

Come in detective.

::Molly looked off and told him.::

If you want to know, I'm fine. Well physically anyway. Emotionally that's a little...different. I don't know if Frank told you when you first met him that he has obsessive compulsive disorder. I don't know if you ever been around someone with that disorder but it is very stressful. I'm supposed to be his psychiatrist, but I'm more of his nurse or if you want to say caretaker. He depends on me so much...I don't think he could function without me. He always complains about little things that only he could or would complain about. It drives me crazy at times....But right now I'd give anything to hear him complain. At least then I know he's okay.

....I miss hearing him complain.

::Molly said and looked at the ground.::

Detective Jenkins
07-01-2004, 10:01 AM
He was moved by her words of concern for her partner. She was obviously trying her best to cope. He walked closer to her and pull up a chair beside her. He bent his head down a little so that his eyes could meet her downward gaze.

"Hey. Sounds like he's a very lucky man to have someone like you looking after him. If there is any justice in the world, you'll get to hear his complaints once again. Come on. Let's see what we can find out about his status. And if they give you the runaround THIS time, I'll beat the information out of them. Ok?"

He flashed a small smile and winked at her hoping that the little joke would cheer her up some.

Molly Haron
07-01-2004, 10:07 AM
::Molly met his gaze and smiled back to Detective Jenkins. He was a good cop. She and Frank were good cops too when they were on the police force. Good cops were hard to find.::

Okay.

::Molly said as she stood up.::

Detective Jenkins
07-01-2004, 10:13 AM
He nodded his head in agreement and helped her up. They left the room and went to the first operations desk in the busy hallway. Flashing his badge, he says...

"I'm Detective Jenkins with the Police Dept. If you could help me, I'd want to know the status of a patient you have here by the name of Frank Knome. Can you give me anything besides a fake smile that says "Please wait some more"? We've waited long enough, somebody knows something."

Molly Haron
07-01-2004, 10:19 AM
Thanks.

::Molly said as he helped her up and the walked to the operations desk. She didn't mean just thanks for helping her up either. She was really saying thanks for helping her try to get the hospital to pay attention to her and her requests about Frank. She stood next to him and just waited to see what they would say to Jenkins.::

Jason Sanborn
07-01-2004, 10:20 AM
The nurse at the operations desk gave Detective Jenkins a shocked look. She was about to respond when another male voice was heard behind Molly and the detective.

I was just on my way to meet with you about Mr. Knome.

When the two turned around they saw a doctor in his mid-fourties. He had a serious look on his face.

I am Doctor Williams. I was the lead doctor working on Frank. Please, come into my office and we can talk about Frank's condition.

Detective Jenkins
07-01-2004, 10:22 AM
He gave off an uneasy sigh and walked with the doctor to his office.

"What's going on Doc?"

Molly Haron
07-01-2004, 10:26 AM
::Molly didn't like the doctor's expression. His look was worser than the one her doctor gave her about her leg. Telling her she always walk with a limp. This was worser when she found out Frank was shot in the head, which caused him to develop OCD. Molly didn't like this. She walked into his office.::

What is it?

Jason Sanborn
07-01-2004, 10:30 AM
Doctor Williams walked behind his desk and took a seat.

Please sit down.

He motioned to the two chairs opposite his desk.

Molly Haron
07-01-2004, 10:35 AM
::Molly knew she wouldn't like it now. Didn't doctors always tell you to sit down before they gave out bad news? She sat down and couldn't help but blurt out.::

He isn't dead is he?

::Molly prayed he wasn't.

Jason Sanborn
07-01-2004, 10:43 AM
No, ma'am. He's not dead.

The doctor sat forward, leaning on the desk, his hands folded in front of him.

He is still in critical, but stable condition. Fortunately, the bullet missed all his major organs. The bullet lodged in his spine. It was very difficult to remove the bullet, but we managed to do so. The damage to the spine, though, was extreme. He may never walk again.

Molly Haron
07-01-2004, 10:46 AM
::Molly's eyes got big as she heard this. She covered her mouth with her hand her in reaction. She wasn't expecting this...::

Oh my God...

::She took a deep breath and looked at the doctor straight in eyes and put her hands on her lap.::

Does he know?

Detective Jenkins
07-01-2004, 10:47 AM
All LJ could do was close his eyes, drop his head and shake it slowly at hearing the news.

Jason Sanborn
07-01-2004, 10:51 AM
He's still sedated. He'll probably be asleep until sometime tomorrow. Right now we are keeping a close eye on him. With injuries that severe, and the amount of blood he lost, things could change.

Molly Haron
07-01-2004, 10:53 AM
Can I see him?

Jason Sanborn
07-01-2004, 11:42 AM
Dr. Williams nodded.

Yes, but only for a moment. Since his condition is still critical, we have to keep his visits very limited. I'm sure you can understand that.

Molly Haron
07-01-2004, 11:46 AM
Yes of course.

::Molly said and waited for the doctor to show her where Frank's room was.::

Jason Sanborn
07-01-2004, 11:48 AM
Detective, would you mind waiting here while I take Mrs. Knome to see her husband? We will be back here in a few moments.

Molly Haron
07-01-2004, 11:51 AM
::Molly looked to Detective Jenkins.::

I'll be back in a little bit and I'll answer those questions I know you want to ask me.

::She stood up and headed towards the doctor's office door. She waited at the door for him to show her where Frank's room was.::

Detective Jenkins
07-02-2004, 02:53 PM
"Take your time. I'm in no rush. Make sure he's alright, I'll be right here."

...said LJ as he took the toothpick out of his mouth and put it in the garbage in the office. He folded his arms as they left and mulled on a few things. Before long, he noticed that the hospital surroundings were dampening his mood. So he allowed his mind to wander back to Angela and her smile, which eventually lightened his mood considering the current circumstances.

Jason Sanborn
07-02-2004, 03:06 PM
Doctor Williams led Molly to the ICU where Frank was. Frank was being kept sedated and was sleeping. A number of tubes and IV's were attached to him, pumping his body with pain killers, blood, water, and nutrients essential for survival. Doctor Williams looked at Molly.

I'll give you five minutes. That's about all I can do.

Molly Haron
07-03-2004, 06:59 AM
::Molly smiled to the detective and followed the doctor to ICU. She hated this area of the hospital, but she would go because she had to see Frank for herself. She looked at all the machines hooked up to Frank, keeping him alive and felt so sad to see this. She nodded her head to the doctor.::

I understand Doctor Williams.

::Molly walked farther in the room, to the bed. She looked down at Frank's face. He was sleeping. That was good, so he wouldn't get upset yet. About all the stuff hooked up to him, that he might never walk again. She touched his hand.::

Oh Frank....

Jason Sanborn
07-03-2004, 09:28 AM
Frank lie in the bed silently. His breathing was being assisted through the oxygen being fed through his nose. He was in a deep sleep, unaware of events transpiring in the real world. He could hear and feel nothing. The monitors near him beeped along with the beating of his heart. The pulse was slightly elevated and his blood pressure was a little low. Fortunately, Frank didn't know any of this. In his deep sleep, there was nothing. No light, no sound, no sense of touch, not even dreams.

::Molly looked at Frank silently lie in the bed. It saddened her to see him like this. She looked at the machines that she really couldn't read and hoped Frank would pull all of this.::

You'll be okay. You have to be.

::Molly said quietly to Frank. More to herself than him because she was sure he didn't really hear her.::

Molly Haron
07-06-2004, 11:30 AM
:: Dr. Williams looked at the clock and cleared his throat.::

"Mrs. Knome I'm sorry but your five minutes is up."

::Molly looked up at him surprised. She nodded her head.::

Yeah I did promise just five minutes.

::Knowing that she was pretending to be Frank's wife, Molly bent down and lightly kissed Frank's forehead. It was what a wife would do.::

Be safe Frank. I'll come back and visit as soon as they let me.

::Molly followed the doctor out of the room.::

When can I see him again?

"Mrs. Knome we need to keep watch over him tonight and see how it goes. Maybe tomorrow you can visit him longer."

::Depending on how tonight went...Molly hoped it went well.::

Yes of course. Here's my number. Please call me if anything happens.

"We will ma'am. I believe Detective Jenkins is still waiting for you."

I almost forgot about him. I did promise to talk with him. Good night Dr. Williams. I'll be back in the morning to see my husband.

"I'm sure you will be. Good night Mrs. Knome."

::Molly was shocked how late it had gotten. This had been a long day. Her stomach growled a little. She couldn't remember the last time she had eaten anything. She went to find Jenkins. A nurse told her the direction he went and soon she found him.::

Detective Jenkins are you ready for that talk we are supposed to have?

Detective Jenkins
07-06-2004, 01:40 PM
He saw Mrs. Knome come to him and ask a question. His first reaction was to start off with the questions and piece together this puzzle that formulated in his head. But then he considered what type of state she must be in after seeing her husband for so little time while he was still in critical condition. With a releasing sigh he looked at her intently and placed his hands in his pocket before saying...

"Yeah, I'm ready. But maybe this isn't the best place to do this. Is there somewhere that I can take you? We could talk on the way."

Molly Haron
07-06-2004, 01:44 PM
I'm hungry so getting something to eat would be nice. I don't want to leave Frank but they won't let me visit him again until tomorrow. I hate hospitals anyway...

::She really didn't want to leave Frank but the doctors and nurses wouldn't allow her in his room again until tomorrow. She had a lot of things to do anyway. After she ate and talked with the detective, she would head back to his apartment and clean it up. It was still a mess. Funny it seemed like a lifetime ago when they decided to see Mr. Monet. Too much happened.::

Is that okay with you?

Detective Jenkins
07-07-2004, 08:33 AM
He nodded his head at the thought of grabbing a bite to eat.

"Getting something to eat is a good idea. I know this diner that we can go to. Best coffee around."

As they left the hospital and stood outside the front door, he fiddled with his car keys then asked her...

"Do you have a car to travel or do you need a ride?"

Molly Haron
07-07-2004, 09:54 AM
That sounds good. I need some coffee.

::Molly walked out of the hospital but felt terrible about leaving Frank there. She wanted to stay with him but knew she couldn't. She looked over to where the car she had been driving was left. Still there and still ruined. She owed Ulfric money for that. She pointed to the car.::

Frank and I were driving that. But as you can see it's no good now. I'll have to get it towed. So if we are going, we'll have to use your car.

::Molly looked at herself and realized she was still wearing a hospital gown. The IV had been taken out and all she had was a mark on her arm from it, but the nurses never gave her a change of clothes. She was dressed in a hospital gown and black pants. Pants stained with blood...mostly Frank's. She reached in her wallet and saw she had some money left.::

Before we eat, I hope you don't mind if we stop in a store so I can buy a change of clothes.

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 07:17 AM
"Wow. The both of you weren't in that when that happened, were you?"

He looked at the damaged car and made a call to a towing company he knew. After a short conversation, he turned to her and said...

"Don't worry about the towing. Somebody's on their way to take care of it at no expense. He owed me a favor anyway."

But when she mentioned her clothes he shook his head.

"I'm sorry but I have to apologize for not picking up on that sooner. Of course we can go get you something. Where would you like to go?"

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 08:51 AM
::Molly sighed as she looked at the car.::

We were...It's amazing we got here alive.

::She watched him make a call to the towing company.::

Thank you.

::Molly thought of a store nearby that she could afford to buy new clothes at. She named the store.::

Is going there okay? I won't take long.

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 08:55 AM
"Going there is fine. I can have us there in a jiff. Get in."

As they entered the vehicle he started up his car and drove off towards the place she mentioned. On the way, he asked her...

"So how long have you known Mr. Knome?"

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 09:11 AM
Frank and I've know each other a very long time. I was about 24 when I met him....Wow that was 6 years ago...I'm getting old.

::Molly said with a small laugh as they drove to the store.::

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 09:25 AM
"Hey, watch out now. I'm in my mid thirties and I don't feel old at all. And to tell the truth, you don't look a day over 20."

He said smiling while keeping his eyes on the road. They pulled up to the store and found a parking.

"Well, here we are. Curbside service and all."

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 09:37 AM
::Molly laughed.::

It's good to know I don't look my age.

::When they pulled up to the store, she opened the door and got out.::

This was great service, I'll have to request it more often. I'll be back in a few minutes.

::Molly closed the car door and walked into the store. She noticed some older woman was looking at her funny for wearing a hospital gown. Molly didn't care and headed for the clothes. She found a medium sized black shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans with the flare cut. The doctor had cut her bra, so she got a new one. She also decided to grab a pair of sneakers and a baseball cap that was black also. Molly felt her hair and thought she could spare a few moments to wash it. She grabbed shampoo and remembered she still had some of that red hair dye from the makeover in it. She would take the time to wash it out, the makeover really did them no good. Mr. Monet still knew who they were. When Frank was well enough she let him wash out the hair dye in his hair too. She paid for the items and went into the bathroom. She changed her clothes and threw away the ruined pants and the hospital gown. She then washed her hair and once she was happy that all the hair dye was out and her hair was back to its light brown color, she put the baseball cap on and put on the new shoes. Pleased and feeling a little better, she went back outside to where Detective Jenkins parked his car. Getting in to the passenger side.::

There, now we can eat.

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 10:23 AM
He was just sitting there and flipping through the radio stations while he waited for her to return. Sadly enough, nothing good was playing so he was left to his own thoughts for a while which seemed to drag the time out forever. Still, after a while had went by Mrs. Knome came out the store and sat back in the car...

"Great. Cause I could use a good cup 'o joe right now."

As they pulled off he tried fiddling with the stations again and still couldn't find anything. After a short while later, they pulled up to the Camden Diner and went inside to sit. A waitress came to them and asked them what they wanted. LJ just extended his hands and said...

"Ladies first."

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 10:29 AM
::Molly liked the diner they ended up at it. It was nice. She would have to take Frank here sometime. Even though they lived in Metro City a year, they hadn't found some of the nicer places to go. She smiled to the waitress.::

I'd like a cup of coffee, a cheeseburger, and fries.

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 10:47 AM
"I'll have what she's having."

Said LJ as he took out another toothpick. The waitress nodded her head and told them that she'll be right back with their food and coffee. Once LJ placed the toothpick in his mouth he struck some more conversation...

"Always did like this place. Not fancy, but not bummish either. It's just the right type of atmosphere for being comfortable. So Mrs. Knome. What happened earlier on that would put you and Mr. Knome in harm's way?"

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 10:51 AM
You can call me Molly.

::She told the detective.::

This is a nice place. I'll have to take Frank here once he gets out of the hospital.

::Molly sighed and knew it was just a matter of time before she would have to tell why they were shot. Frank had talked to this detective before, but Molly didn't know how much he told them about the things they were finding on John Ibets.::

Frank and I were on an assignment. The case we are working on took us to the home of Mr. Monet. He is deeply connected to our client's brother and what happened to him. We went there to ask him some questions. Looking back it was stupid for us to do, but there is nothing to change that now. He had his guards shoot us. We were lucky to get out alive. Trust me, he didn't want us to get out alive.

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 11:00 AM
"Okay....Molly."

He listened to the events that lead up them getting to the hospital and tried soaking it in. Rubbing his chin he continued...

"Mr Monet, huh? Would there be another reason why he had his guards try to kill you both other than because he wa asked questions?"

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 11:04 AM
We went into his home. We were told to wait for him in the library, some words were said and he has his guards shoot at us.

::Molly looked at Detective Jenkins straight in the eye.::

Maybe he thinks Frank and I were on to something big he was trying to cover up. Maybe he wanted us out of the way, fearing we know too much. I don't know. You could ask him, but I do know you wouldn't get the whole truth from him. Men like him think telling the whole truth is above them.

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 11:10 AM
The more he heard, the more it sounded like this Mr. Monet was a lot like Ignatius, the man he's been trying to overthrow most of his career. Men like them were plagues in the otherwise peaceful city.

"Do you have an idea of what he could be covering up?"

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 11:16 AM
That I'm not sure about. Frank might have a theory on it though.

::Molly frowned.::

He did say the man we were looking for was nothing but a "scape goat" passing money through for him. I think Miss Capshaw and her law firm are connected to this. The first time we met Mr. Monet she was there and she told us the man we were looking for was a "nobody". It troubled me and Frank why she went to a length to tell us that if the man meant nothing.

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 11:22 AM
:eh: "Wait. Did you say Miss Capshaw's law firm??"

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 11:25 AM
Yes...Miss Capshaw was in a meeting with Mr. Monet the first time we met him at his bank.

::The waitress brought their food. Molly thanked her and took a drink of the coffee. She wondered why Detective Jenkins had that look on his face.::

Is something wrong?

::She asked as she started to eat her food.::

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 11:38 AM
"Yeah."

He leaned in and started whispering...

"There might be a connection after all. There aren't too many people on the force who will admit to it but that law firm is bad in my opinion. It's been mixed up in a bunch of illegal mess that nobody's ever been able to pin on them. Right now, I would say that you and your friend are not out of the woods yet as people have a tendancy to "expire" whenever they are involved."

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 11:42 AM
::Molly's eyes got big as she heard what the detective said. She didn't like this, but instinct had told her that the law firm wasn't on the up and up. But this wasn't the kind of thing she and Frank were looking for when they moved here. They found corruption once and it almost killed them both. Molly had hoped to get it away from it in Metro City but no such luck.::

Great....To think Frank and I left our old home to get away from those kind of things...We ended up back in the center of it again.

::She just shook her head.::

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 11:50 AM
Just as he was about to talk some more, someone walked through the diner doors and looked in his direction. It was Angela. And she did NOT like what she saw. She screamed out for everyone to hear...

"Going on a job, huh LJ?! More like leaving to be with some BIMBO!!"

She turned around and put her hands to her face as she left the diner. When she did that, LJ jumped up and said...

"Waitaminute! It's not what it LOOKS like! Come back here! Hold on Molly, I'll be right back. Angela!"

He went out of the diner after her after she made that embarrassing scene.

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 11:58 AM
::Molly turned just to see a pretty woman get very angry at Detective Jenkins. Must be his girlfriend, although Molly glared when she got called a bimbo.::

"Bimbo?"

::That was one thing Molly wasn't, she looked to the waitress and at her mostly eaten food.::

I'll be right back.

::The waitress nodded, her mouth wide open at the scene, as was most of the people who were eating too. Molly followed them outside as fast as limping could take her. Normally she would not interfere, but no one called her a bimbo. She looked at Angela.::

Excuse me lady, but I'm no bimbo.

::She sneered as she used that word.::

Detective Jenkins was asking me some questions as to why my husband and I got shot. He was the officer called to the hospital.

::She knew Jenkins didn't think she and Frank were married, but his friend didn't know that. To prove her point, she moved her shirt a little to show the stitches on her shoulder from her wound.::

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 12:08 PM
:eh:

...this accurately depicts the emotions that Angela went through in her mind when confronted with the evidence that this woman gave her. LJ wasn't cheating on her at all. He was just doing a job. She felt so embarrassed that her face went red.

"I'm....so sorry about that. I.....I..."

LJ on the other hand was a bit irritated by the accusation and the scene she caused.

 "Is this how you're going to be whenever I get called out? Is this what I've got to look forward to? Cause if it is then I don't want to do this anymore..."

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 12:21 PM
::Molly watched Angela's face and could tell she deeply cared about Detective Jenkins. She adjusted her shirt and then felt she shouldn't be here now, since the detective was irritated and let Angela know it. She set the record straight and she didn't want to listen to their private conversation, or more like it, fight. Molly did understand why he was mad though. Angela cared about him, but he had a job to do. He couldn't always be there with her and she had to trust him or their relationship would never work out. Maybe it was good thing that the only serious relationship Molly was ever in was with Justin and they were both cops. They undertstood how the job worked and never acted liked this with each other. Molly could tell Angela was not a cop though and let her feelings get in the way. Molly wasn't mad at the woman. She looked to Angela.::

It's okay, but I'm not the one who has to forgive you. He is. A cop's life is not easy and it often takes that person away from the people he or she loves the most. But you just have to trust him if you want to be with him.

::She looked to the detective.::

I'll be inside.

::Molly walked back into the diner and went to finish her food. She then called the waitress and ordered a piece of cheesecake as she waited for Detective Jenkins to return after talking with his girlfriend.::

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 12:47 PM
He nodded to Molly as she went inside. Once she left, LJ looked around and saw that this wasn't the time or place to do this. He looked at Angela with a much calmer look and said...

"How about this? I'll give you a call later on tonight. We're gonna talk about this and see what we need to do, alright? This isn't the time or place. I'm working. I'll call you around 9pm."

He gave her a small kiss on her lips even though he was still irritated. As they waved each other bye he entered the diner all over again and flashed a corny smile to everyone who was looking at him funny before sitting back down at the table. Taking in a deep sigh, he looked at Molly who was eating and asked...

"Please pardon that whole scene. That normally doesn't happen."

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 12:51 PM
::Molly looked up and took a drink of coffee.::

It's okay and I'm sure it doesn't. She just cares a lot about you. That I can see.

Detective Jenkins
07-08-2004, 01:11 PM
"Yeah, she does. But the scene was still uncalled for. It would have been messed up if someone would have called the cops. That's the last thing I need, for all the guys at the station to harrass me over something like that. I'd never hear the end of it."

He looked at his food and started eating the fries...

"But back to what we were talking about. I'm sorry that you both are mixed up in this. I wish I had a good lead to go off of, maybe continue the work you two were doing while Mr. Knome is still recovering..."

Molly Haron
07-08-2004, 01:22 PM
I'm sure that is the last thing you would need.

::Molly dated a detective and knew what it was like. When she dated Justin he had left to be a detective and she became Frank's partner. It seemed like a lifetime ago it all happened. She looked at him.::

It would be good if you could continue to work on it. With Frank's condition I don't think he and I can work on it for some time.

::She grabbed a napkin and asked the waitress for a pen. She wrote down her cell phone number and returned it to the waitress.::

Here this is my number, you can keep in touch of me with it.

I wish I could tell you were to start, Frank and I ended up in the mess by accident. This young woman hired us to find out why her brother was at the diner explosion and what he wanted to tell her. We never realized he was involved in all of this...

Molly Haron
07-12-2004, 09:16 AM
::After a little while Molly realized she should get back to Frank's apartment. She had to call Ulfric to get her car back and tell him what happened to his. She wasn't sure what else she would tell him. Suddenly just seeing Frank seemed more important and helping him. However, Frank was in ICU and they wouldn't let her see him in while. She could clean up his apartment though. She looked to Detective Jenkins and realized she could trust him. He was an honest cop, so hard to find in this town or any town.::

Detective I think there is something I should show you at Frank's apartment. We should leave now though.

::Jenkins should see the "mess" someone or someones did to his apartment. She have to see about finding a new place for her and Frank to live. They couldn't stay at his apartment. It was too dangerous. Actually Frank staying Metro City was dangerous. Getting a new car with new plates was important thing to do too.::

Detective Jenkins
07-12-2004, 01:58 PM
After receiving her number, he reached in his jacket pocket and pulled out one of his cards with his office and cell number on it.

"...and here's my number as well. For the most part you can catch me on my cell. But concerning that diner explosion, we've got a couple of people on that already. Only problem is, I don't know how much I can trust them as a possible source of information since I suspect that some of my fellow police are just as corrupted as this city."

He had put her number inside his jacket pocket when he sensed the urgency in her voice about visiting Frank's apartment.

"Really? Alright, let's go then."

...said LJ as he placed a few dollars on the table to cover the meal and stood up to get ready to go.

Molly Haron
07-12-2004, 05:40 PM
Thanks. I'll make sure I don't lose this.

::Molly said taking his number and putting it in her wallet. Later she would probably program it into her cell phone. Molly nodded her head when Detective Jenkins mentioned that his fellow cops were corrupted.::

It is sad that there are police who are supposed to protect the city who are worser than the criminals they arrest.

::Molly and Frank knew all to well about that. It cost them their careers on the police department.::

Yes really. It'll probably be of a lot of interest to you.

::Molly said and followed the detective outside to his car. Once inside it, she gave him directions to Frank's apartment.::

Detective Jenkins
07-13-2004, 10:03 AM
They drove up to Frank's apartment and got out the vehicle. Looking up at the building, he said to Molly...

"Here we are. Lead the way."

Molly Haron
07-13-2004, 10:09 AM
::Molly nodded and led Jenkins to Frank's apartment. She picked up the mail and unlocked the door with her key. She opened it and closed it behind them. The apartment was still a mess.::

We found it like this. It is what gave us the idea to see Mr. Monet.

::The place looked terrible, all ruined. It would take Molly a while to clean it up.::

Detective Jenkins
07-13-2004, 10:40 AM
:eh: "Whoa."

...was LJ's initial response to seeing the trashed apartment. It was in stark contrast the last time he saw it when it was immaculately clean. As he carefully tried to step over certain items he asked her...

"Any ideas of who could have done this? Any clues?"

Molly Haron
07-13-2004, 10:47 AM
I think Mr. Monet or Miss Capshaw's hired hands had something to do with this.

::She looked around at the trashed apartment.::

We didn't find any clues yet. To be honest I think Frank and I should leave Metro City. Clearly someone doesn't want us around.

Detective Jenkins
07-13-2004, 11:17 AM
"I think you're right. And given Mr. Knome's present state, he would be easy pickings if someone was after him. This isn't good."

Several thoughts zoomed by in his head regarding the situation and how dangerous things could be for them if they stayed. He then came to the same conclusion that Molly did. But how to go about it?

"Tell you what. Get some items that you think you or Mr. Knome will absolutely need. Pack light. You can't come back here."

He then took out his cellphone and made a call in a hurry.

Molly Haron
07-13-2004, 11:35 AM
Yes, they might already know he is in the hosptial.

::Fear took over her that Frank was in danger. She was worried sick about his condition but the fact someone could go there...He wouldn't stand a chance.::

Right.

::Molly hurried off to the guest room where her things were and to Frank's room. She grabbed some clothes and essential things. She grabbed her grandmother's ring it had been her wedding ring. That might be good to have on her if she is going to be Frank's wife. She pulled out her cell phone and called Ulfric. She didn't get him though but a woman.::

"Hello. This is Constance, Ulfric isn't in right now."

Hi, umm...This is Molly Haron. Ulfric and his friends were fixing my car for me.

"Of course. Do you need it back?"

Yes I do.

::She then told her what happened with Ulfric's car and where it was towed.::

"Don't worry, I'm sure Ulfric will not be too upset. Cars aren't as important as people. I'll send one to get his car and I'll send someone to bring you your car. Are you at Mr. Knome's?"

Yes.

"Good, the driver will be there in no time."

Thank you.

::Molly hung up and hoped Ulfric would not hate her. She did like him but...She couldn't worry about that right now. She took the makeover clothes, figuring she could return them and get some money back. A lot of their things were ruined and Molly didn't have the time to sort it out. It was sad to see things you held onto like this. Maybe Detective Jenkins could have someone clean the place and let her sort through the stuff later. She would ask him. Carrying two backpacks.::

I think I got it all. I called my auto shop for my car. They'll be sending it soon. You wouldn't happen to have a friend who would clean this place up and let me and Frank sort through our things later? It is hard to part with stuff. With Frank's OCD it'll probably be hard for him.

Detective Jenkins
07-13-2004, 11:59 AM
While Molly went to go get some things, LJ was busy on the phone with a contact he had at the station. After an in-depth conversation with his contact he hung up the phone just as Molly came back outside. He helped her with the backpacks and told her...

"I'm pulling some strings in the department and at the hospital to facilitate Mr. Knome's move out of Metro to Springfield. It's the closest city that I could think of that has the proper medical facilities to give him the best care. It will take a few hours but the evac should happen before tonight is through. Until then, I've got men posted at Mr. Knome's door to protect him in case someone tries to get him tonight."

Molly Haron
07-13-2004, 12:30 PM
Thank you. Frank will be far safer in Springfield.

::Molly said and she meant it. She was glad she could trust Detective Jenkins. She looked out and saw her car being driven up the curb. The driver came out and went to meet Molly.::

"Miss Haron here is your car. It's better than ever."

Thank you. Tell Ulfric I'll pay him back.

"There is no need. He is not worried about money. Oh and he wanted me to give you this."

::The man reached in his pocket and handed her back her silver necklace.::

"He told me to tell you thank you for letting him borrow it. It kept him safe and he wishes for you to have it back so it can keep you safe again. Good luck to you and Mr. Knome."

Thanks...

::Molly didn't know what to say as he man walked off leaving her with her car and her necklace. The last thing Justin had gave her. She put the necklace on and looked around the apartment, to see if she forgot anything. She saw off in the corner there was a picture. She went over to it and carefully picked it up. The frame it was in had broken glass. She smiled when she saw the picture. It was of her, Justin, and Frank. They were dressed up, it must have been taken at a policemen's ball. She was wearing the same necklace, so it had to be one of the last pictures taken of Justin before he died. Justin was in the middle, his left arm was around Molly's waist and his right arm was around Frank's shoulders. They were all smiling. Molly looked at it and wondered how life went from that to be so complicated now. She stood up with the picture in hand.::

Detective I think I got everything I need for right now. I do hope though you can some how get this place cleaned up so I sort through these things later in Springfield.

::She was going to say she was ready to go, but then she remembered Tiffany.::

We'll have to get a hold of Tiffany. She is the woman who hired us to find out about John Ibets.

::And got them involved in all this...::

Detective Jenkins
07-14-2004, 11:56 AM
"I might have someone in mind who I trust enough to get the place cleaned up. But that all depends on his mood and how much he'll charge me. Let me make that phone call on the way..."

Then she brought up Tiffany.

"Tiffany, huh? Let's go then. But I have a question. Just how involved do you think this Tiffany is to all of this? Who's to say that we may not find her pushing up daisies already?"

Molly Haron
07-14-2004, 12:00 PM
Okay thanks. I know there are things here Frank would hate to never see again.

::Molly put the picture in her pocket and frowned.::

I haven't talked to Tiffany since she hired us...So I don't know.

::Actually Molly didn't know what to think anymore. Life went crazy. She found Tiffany's number.::

I have her number, so I'll give her a call.

::She dialed it.::

Jason Sanborn
07-14-2004, 02:59 PM
Tiffany Ibets

On the other end, the phone rang several times. After a moment, a woman's voice could be heard on the other side.

Hi. This is Tiffany. I'm not home right now, but if you'll leave your name and number, I'll call you back. Bye now!

The message was followed by several sets of short beeps, followed by one long beep.

Molly Haron
07-16-2004, 08:32 AM
::Molly groaned when she got the answering machine.::

Tiffany this is Molly Haron. Please call me back, I have some important information to tell you.

::She left her number and hung up. Molly wondered when was the last time Tiffany checked her messages. There were several beeps before Molly left hers. She looked to Detective Jenkins.::

She isn't home. Although I wonder if she is okay. It seems she hasn't checked her messages in a while or she is very popular today...Do you think we should go to her home?

::Molly was worried sick about Frank and if he was safe. Although she wondered if Tiffany was okay...She hadn't talked with that woman in a while.::

Detective Jenkins
07-19-2004, 08:55 AM
He looked at his watch and considered the situation...

"Let me call the department first."

As he got on his cell phone, he coordinated a couple of things with whoever was on the other line. The back and forth conversation went on for a while but he soon hung up and turned back to Molly...

"Alright. For now, it looks like we still have some time on our hands to look into this. Frnak is still being guarded and nothing has gone down yet. Tell me where Tiffany lives on the way to her home. Take a last look around. Anything else you think you'll need?"

Said LJ as he opened the front door for Molly.

Molly Haron
07-19-2004, 09:05 AM
::Molly watched him talk on the phone. She hoped Frank would be okay in the time it took for her and the detective to head to Tiffany's. When he was talking on the phone, she grabbed a phone book to find Tiffany's address. She didn't remember it, but she did find it. Writing it down, she looked to him.::

No...not right now. Some things can be replaced. Although I hope you can get a friend to clean it and allow me to look through the things later.

::She said as she walked out the door and into his car. On the way to Tiffany's Molly gave him the address she found.::

I do hope she is okay.

::Molly felt bad she hadn't kept in touch with the woman sooner. So much happened that she kind of forgot. She wondered if Frank would be okay while they made this stop. "Frank please hang on. I'll be there soon." Molly thought as they arrived at Tiffany's home. She waited for Jenkins to take the lead.::

Detective Jenkins
07-19-2004, 09:09 AM
"I think my contact will come through and help clean the apartment up. Just gotta wait for it to cool down some. And I hope Tiffany's alright also. Anything she might be able to tell us could give us a clue about what's really going on."

They made it to Tiffany's door and he knocked on it three times to see if anyone was home...

Molly Haron
07-19-2004, 09:18 AM
That's good. Thank you.

::As Molly waited with Jenkins at Tiffany's door, she said to him.::

I don't think Tiffany knew how deep in corruption her brother was involved in. Maybe she will have a clue to help us now though...

::She wondered if Tiffany would answer as they waited at her door or if they would to force their way in.::

Jason Sanborn

Tiffany's home was and apartment, in a lower-middle class section of town. She apparently wasn't in bad shape, but neither was it a comfortable living. Tiffany's apartment was on the third floor of the apartment building.

As LJ and Molly waited for Tiffany to answer the door, the elevator bell chimed, and the doors opened. An elderly woman emerged from the elevator with her small dog on a leash. She apparently just returned from walking the dog.

Hello there!

She said with a smile to Frank and Molly as she walked to the door right across from Tiffany's door and began to unlock the door. The dog ran up to LJ and started barking.

Now Misty! Don't bark at the nice man.

She told her dog as she pulled on the leash trying to pull the dog away from LJ.

I'm so sorry. She doesn't like men too much. She's harmless, really. Her bark is worse than her bite.

Molly Haron
07-19-2004, 11:06 AM
::Molly waited for someone to answer Tiffany's door. She was about to suggest to Detective Jenkins that they might have to open it themselves when the old woman and her dog came by.::

Hello.

::Molly's eyes got big as the dog barked at the detective. It was good Frank wasn't here he would probably run off screaming at the dog. She looked at the elderly woman.::

Excuse me. Do you happen to know the woman who lives here?

::She said nodding her head to Tiffany's door.::

Jason Sanborn
07-19-2004, 11:21 AM
The elderly woman managed to pull her dogg away from LJ and picked the dog up.

Hush, Misty!

The woman looked at Molly and LJ again.

I don't know what has gotten into her tonight. She's not usually like this.

The woman smiled.

Tiffany lives in that apartment. She is such a sweet girl. She always would help me with my groceries or the garbage when she saw me.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen her in a couple of days. Not since those other men came to see her. She is usually home. She told me that she worked from home.

Molly Haron
07-19-2004, 11:29 AM
::Molly eyes widened in shock...Was she and Detective Jenkins too late?::

Other men? What other men?

Jason Sanborn
07-19-2004, 11:33 AM
The elderly woman thought for a moment.

They said they were Metro City Detectives. Misty didn't like the smell of them. She barked at them just like she did to you. But she does that to every man she sees.

Tiffany let the men into her apartment, and the men left a couple hours later.

Notices the look of shock on Molly's face.

Why? Is Tiffany in some sort of trouble?

The woman asked with a look of concern on her face.

Molly Haron
07-19-2004, 11:41 AM
::Molly wondered if they were really detectives. They might have been, but then again Jenkins did tell her that fellow members of the police department were not on the up and up. She could see the concern on the older woman's face.::

She might be. I'm not sure...

::She looked to the detective to see what he had to say and what they would do now.::

Detective Jenkins
07-20-2004, 09:55 AM
At first the dog's bark startled him though he calmed down when the old lady picked it up and told them what she saw and heard. This didn't sound good at all. He reached for his holster and told the both of them with a tone of urgency...

"Step away from the door."

From inside the apartment, the door was kicked in and LJ stepped in slowly but on guard to investigate what happened inside...

Jason Sanborn
07-20-2004, 10:01 AM
The lights were out in the apartment and the curtains were drawn. The light that did filter in from the hall cast long shadows in the living room. A small blinking red light could be seen on the other side of the room, about 3 feet off the ground. In the shadowy light, LJ and Molly could barely make out the shape of the phone and answering machine. There was no other sound or movement coming from inside the apartment.

Outside the apartment, Misty, the old woman's dog, began to bark more furiously, and the old woman struggled to hold her dog. The woman had a look of shock on her face at LJ's actions.

Wh-- What are you doing?

Detective Jenkins
07-20-2004, 10:28 AM
As LJ went around the apartment trying to secure each room, he told the old lady...

"Ma'am, I'm a detective from Metro City PD. We have reason to believe that something may have happened to Tiffany. Outside of the two cops visiting her, have there been anything else of suspicion going on here or with Tiffany?"

Jason Sanborn
07-20-2004, 10:34 AM
N..No. Nothing out of the ordinary. She told me she was concerned about her brother.

The old woman answered.

As LJ and Molly secured the apartment, they noticed it was completely empty. The bedroom was in disarray. Clothes were scattered on the bed, and empty hangars were tossed carelessly on the floor. A few dresser drawers were left open, and those that weren't, had clothing sticking out of them. It didn't look like someone had looked through here, instead, it looked like Tiffany left in a hurry.

As they were looking through the apartment, the phone began to ring.

Detective Jenkins
07-20-2004, 11:07 AM
When he was certain that the area was secure, he put his gun away and observed the scene. If it was Tiffany that made this mess, then she left in a grand hurry. That much was obvious. And before he could ask the lady another question the phone rang. He looked at Molly with a look that wondered if he should pick it up, but he reached down to pick up the receiver and said...

"Who this?"

Jason Sanborn
07-20-2004, 11:11 AM
There was silence on the other end of the line for a second, then a male voice came back through the phone.

Who's this? Where's Tiffany?

Detective Jenkins
07-20-2004, 11:14 AM
Unsure of where this would lead, he decided to be truthful and see where it went...

"This is Detective Jenkins, Metro City PD. Who am I talking to?"

Jason Sanborn
07-20-2004, 11:17 AM
There was silence again for a moment.

This is... uh... a friend of Tiffany's.

His voice was slightly shaky and uncertain.

Is she there?

Molly Haron
07-20-2004, 11:21 AM
::Molly followed Detective Jenkins, unsure what was going on with Tiffany. She didn't like this. She just remained quiet and waited. She hoped Tiffany was okay. She left fast and in a hurry. Although she wondered if the people who were after Molly and Frank found Tiffany what was to stop them from finding Frank at the hospital. She wondered who was on the phone.::

Detective Jenkins
07-20-2004, 11:23 AM
LJ read the silence and the preferred anonymity the caller remained to keep. So he continued...

"Nice to meet you Friend of Tiffany's. She's currently not here right now but maybe we can help each other out since it looks like we're both looking for her. Would you know where she could be? It's very important that we find her."

Jason Sanborn
07-20-2004, 11:26 AM
Silence again.

She isn't there? Why are you looking for her?

Detective Jenkins
07-20-2004, 11:38 AM
Still sensing the tension on the line, LJ continues to talk in a cool manner...

"I can't go into the details but I think she may be in trouble. I want to find her before something bad happens to her. Look, I've answered your questions as a show of good faith. I think the least you could do is tell me something that might help save her."

Jason Sanborn
07-20-2004, 11:40 AM
There was silence again on the other end of the line.

How can I trust you?

Detective Jenkins
07-20-2004, 11:52 AM
This was puzzling. But he needed to know if this person could give him a lead...

"How would you like for me to demonstrate that I can be trusted?"

Jason Sanborn
07-20-2004, 12:52 PM
There was no silence this time. The voice answered immediately.

Tell me what you know about my si... I mean... my friend.

Detective Jenkins
07-20-2004, 07:41 PM
He thought he caught him almost calling Tiffany his "sister". This may be the lead he was looking for...

"Tell you what. I'm not comfortable going over this on the phone. Enough weird things have been happening lately. Maybe we should meet. At a place and time of your choosing, of course."

Jason Sanborn
07-20-2004, 10:36 PM
There was silence again.

Meet me at Metro City Hospital. Front lobby. Read the sports section of a newspaper, leave the rest on the floor at your feet.

There was a click on the other end of the line as the man hung up the phone.

((Metro City Hospital is where Frank is.))

Molly Haron
07-21-2004, 08:47 AM
::Molly listened to Detective Jenkins' side of the phone conversation. After it seemed the other person hung up.::

Well now what?

::She wanted to get to the hospital. She wanted to make sure Frank was okay.::

Detective Jenkins
07-21-2004, 01:06 PM
He hung up the phone and gazed outward for a second before turning to Molly and said...

"I think we might have a lead. What's interesting is that this person wants to meet at the hospital. The same hospital Frank is in. This sounds too strange to be coincidence."

He stood up and spoke to the old lady.

"Do me a favor. Try to keep an eye out for whoever comes to this apartment, alright? Don't confront anyone, just be on the lookout ma'am. I'll call you in a few days to see if a hunch I have is right. But in case you do see something before I call you, here's my cell number."

He passed her his card and looked to Molly.

"We need to get back to the hospital."

Jason Sanborn
07-21-2004, 01:10 PM
The old woman took the card and nodded.

Of course officer. I do hope Tiffany is ok. She is a sweet woman.

Molly Haron
07-22-2004, 07:26 AM
I see.

::Molly had a bad feeling about this. Why did this lead want to meet where Frank was? Something about all this wasn't right. Maybe it was time for answers. She looked to the older woman.::

Yes Tiffany is a nice lady. I hope everything works out for her.

::She looked to Detective Jenkins.::

Yes we do. Let's go.

::She said goodbye to the woman and walked out the door.::

Detective Jenkins
07-23-2004, 10:00 AM
As they made it to the car, LJ started it up and said...

"This is getting weird. Why would this guy want to meet at the same hospital that Mr. Knome was in? Coincidence, maybe?"

Molly Haron
07-23-2004, 10:05 AM
I don't think so....Everything seems to be connected.

::Molly said as she went into his car.::

Did he say or almost say anything odd?

Detective Jenkins
07-23-2004, 10:11 AM
He drove off and headed down the street. He reflected back on the conversation and replied...

"Yeah, it sounded like he wanted to call her his sister but stopped himself. Can't ignore the possibility if this is the guy we're thinking of. Plus, he sounded very scared on the phone."

Jason Sanborn
07-23-2004, 11:23 AM
As LJ and Molly drove down the street, LJ's cell phone began to ring. LJ would easily recognize the number as one of the direct lines from the precinct, but he wouldn't know who the number belonged to.

Molly Haron
07-23-2004, 01:02 PM
Sister? I checked into the Ibets family. Tiffany only had one brother...John and he is supposed to be dead.

::Molly frowned. She and Frank assumed he died in the explosion. He had, hadn't he? But Jenkins said the man sounded scared. As they got closer to the hospital.::

This is weird...

::She heard his cell phone ring and looked at it.::

Do you know who that is?

Detective Jenkins
07-27-2004, 08:58 AM
He was temporarily in a daze ( :p ) trying to put together certain facets of what was happening when he noticed that Molly was telling him about his phone...

"Mmm? Oh yeah, let me get that..."

Looking at the number, he recognized that it was a direct line from the precinct. But who would be calling him? He answered it as such...

"Detective Jenkins here. Who this?"

Jason Sanborn
07-27-2004, 09:09 AM
The voice on the other end was speaking just above a whisper. Barely loud enough to be heard.

LJ, it's Steve. I tried to arrange the transfer of Mr. Knome like you requested, but there's been some complications. IA is coming down on me about you. Something about skimming. The Captain wants you as well. He's already sent Sergeants Kols and Hahn to arrest you. I don't have to remind you that those two are on the take. Be careful.

Steve quickly hung up the phone before LJ could say a word edgewise.

Molly Haron
07-27-2004, 09:13 AM
::Molly looked at Jenkins.::

What's going on?

Detective Jenkins
07-27-2004, 09:14 AM
In anger he clapped his phone together and slammed it next to him on the seat while yelling out certain unmentionable expletives. He slammed on the breaks and said to Molly...

"I've had it up to HERE with all the mess going on in my precinct. Now I'm to be arrested for something that I haven't even DONE! THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!"

He said as he slammed his hands on the steering wheel in repeated fashion.

Molly Haron
07-27-2004, 09:23 AM
::Molly's eyes got big at his outrage.::

I'm sure it is, but right now we have to get to Frank.

Detective Jenkins
07-27-2004, 12:44 PM
After getting in a couple more slams on the steering wheel he paused for a second and took in a deep breath. As he exhaled he would say...

"Woo-sah."

...almost in a mantra. He did this for a couple more times before he got himself centered again.

"You're right. Lets get to the hospital."

He turned the car back on and started driving again.

"There's a WHOLE lot more going on here than I originally thought. Frank's position may be compromised. I need you to stay alert once we get there, alright?"

Molly Haron
07-27-2004, 01:28 PM
Don't worry about me. I used to be a cop. I can handle whatever comes at us tonight. I won't let anyone else hurt Frank.

::Molly meant it too, she would make sure nothing else happened to Frank. She was glad they were almost to the hospital now. Tonight she was sure would be a night where all the things that had happened to her and Frank would finally make sense. At least she hoped so. She also hoped she and Frank would make it through the night.::

Detective Jenkins
07-28-2004, 12:02 PM
With a bit of surprise in his voice he asks...

"You used to be a cop? Good. Look in the glove compartment. In there you'll find an extra revolver. I've got a sneaky suspicion that things are about to get very hairy."

Molly Haron
07-29-2004, 07:20 AM
::Molly wondered why he was surprised she had been one. Now wasn't the time to ask. She looked into glove compartment and pulled out the extra revolver. She checked the bullets and took off the safety. It been a long time since she had to hold a gun like it was attached to her, but Molly never forgot how to use it. She looked to the detective.::

I believe so too. Are we there?

Detective Jenkins
07-29-2004, 09:46 AM
They pulled up in the parking lot of the hospital as he replied.

"Yep, we're here."

Exitting the car, they started walking towards the entrance when he said...

"I don't need to tell you but I'll say it anyway. Lay low. Stay covert. Whoever "they" is, they'll be after Frank. Stands to reason that they'll be after you too. I'll be down here trying to catch up with our lead from the phone. Contact me in fifteen minutes from the time we split up. If I don't hear from you, I'm going to assume that something is wrong and will search for you. Got it?"

Molly Haron
07-29-2004, 09:50 AM
::Molly nodded to him and turned on her phone. She put the gun in the waistband of her jeans.::

Got it.

::Molly looked at her watch to know what time it was right now. 15 mintues. She prayed this would all be over by then. She hoped Frank was okay and they people after them didn't know where he was yet.::

Detective Jenkins
07-29-2004, 09:59 AM
He let Molly go in first and observed her walk from the outside to see if she would be tailed. After a minute, he walked in and made his way to the lobby.

Molly Haron
07-29-2004, 10:02 AM
::Molly made sure her shirt covered the revolver. Molly then made her way down to Frank's room.::

Detective Jenkins
07-29-2004, 12:06 PM
As he slinked his way into the front lobby, he looked around to see if there was a newspaper around for him to read per the stranger's request. His search actually turned up well for him as to there was a used newspaper laying a little ruffled in a seat next to an old man. Picking it up and sitting down, he did what he was instructed to do by reading the sports pages and putting the rest at his feet. And there, he waited...

Jason Sanborn
07-29-2004, 08:18 PM
The hospital was quite busy when LJ and Molly arrived. A lot of people were in the waiting room. The seat that LJ chose to sit at had an elderly man to his left, with a middle-aged man next to her. The two were engaged in a conversation. Apparently the elderly man was the one needing to be seen, and the other man was either a son or a friend.

To LJ's right was an overweight man that appeared to be extremely pale and sweating. He was holding his stomach, as if it was in pain, and his eyes were closed. There really was no other place for LJ to sit at the moment.

The wait lasted about 10 minutes before another man approached him. The man was in his late 20's, and looked like he hadn't shaven in nearly a week. His dark blonde hair was matted and disheveled. His clothing appeared to be very expensive, but were so dirty and wrinkled that it appeared he had been sleeping in them for at least a week. LJ could see the obvious look of fear in the man's expression.

Man: Detective Jenkins?

<hr>
Molly, after she let the receptionist know that she was here to see her "husband," was allowed to head into the back towards the ICU. Molly was able to follow the nurse through the hospital to the room where Frank was being kept. Two uniformed police officers were standing, guarding the door. Molly saw the sergeant stripes on the sleeves of their shirts. The name plate on one read "Kols" the other was "Hahn." Both officers moved their right hand to their side-arm, instinctually. Kols held up his hand in an indication to stop.

Kols: Hold it right there. Only approved medical staff is allowed in this room. Absolutely no visitors.

Molly Haron
07-30-2004, 08:55 AM
::Molly looked at them. She wondered what she should do. She couldn't say she was a doctor or nurse. She wasn't wearing the right clothes or have an id. Maybe she should pretend to be dumb for a moment.::

If that is true, why did the nurse lead me here?

Jason Sanborn
08-01-2004, 07:42 PM
The nurse smiled at the officer.

Nurse: It is okay, Officer. This is Mrs. Knome.

The two officers looked at each other, a sly grin appeared on Sergeant Hahn's face.

Hahn: Mrs. Knome, you say? You know, we've been waiting for you "Mrs. Knome."

Both officers pull out their guns and aim them at Molly.

Kols: Molly Haron. You are under arrest. Get on the floor with your hands behind your head now.

The nurse, confused as to what was going on, quickly backed away from Molly.

Molly Haron
08-02-2004, 10:51 AM
::Molly glared that the nurse left her. She looked at the officers. Dirty cops. What else did she expect to find here. She backed away, wanting to get the gun she had with her. She wanted to have some protection. But she was outnumbered and she wouldn't want to start a gunfight in public. Innocent people would get hurt. She hoped Detective Jenkins would find her soon....She looked to Frank's door. God...what if these jerks did something to him. She held her hands up but didn't get on the floor.::

Unless you have an arrest warrent I'm not doing anything you want.

Detective Jenkins
08-02-2004, 11:04 AM
LJ looked up at the dishevelled man and answered him cautiously...

"Yes. And you are...?"

Jason Sanborn
08-02-2004, 11:17 AM
((Officers don't physically carry arrest warrants on their person. :whaat:))

Kols: We do have a warrant for your arrest, now I suggest you get on the floor with your hands behind your head now.

<hr>
The man looked around the room. He was clearly paranoid of who might be there. He looked back at Detective Jenkins.

Man: (Slightly hushed tone.) My name is John. I need help. I don't know who to trust.

Molly Haron
08-02-2004, 11:22 AM
((Molly is trying to buy herself time. I hope you don't mind my saying Molly found a supply cart. I think it might help her get away from the cops. ;)))

::Molly glared and moved back. Her hip bumped a medical supply cart.::

No. I'm not doing anything you want until I see it. I know my rights.

Detective Jenkins
08-02-2004, 11:37 AM
He scrunched his eyebrows together and looked at him skeptically for a second. Then he looked around also and determined that they needed to move. He stood up and spoke softly to him...

"John...... let's take a walk. What can I help you with? How do you know Tiffany?"

Jason Sanborn
08-02-2004, 11:46 AM
Sergeant Kols was getting angry. He saw her bump into the medical cart. Too many things on that cart could be used against them. His finger twitched, ready to fire the gun, but wasn't willing to start shooting in the middle of a hospital. Not unless absolutely necessary.

Kols: Move away from the cart and lie on the floor, now!

At the same time Kols was barking his orders to Molly, Sergeant Hahn pressed the button on his radio clipped to his left shoulder.

Hahn: SAM-19 requesting immediate backup at Metro City Hospital.

A male voice could be heard on the other end of the radio.

Dispatcher: Roger, SAM-19. Any units in the area, please respond Code-2.

Molly could hear the announcements of other officers over the radio. It would probably be 5 to 10 minutes before the other officers get to the hospital.

<hr>
John shook his head.

John: I need a crowded public place. Safer. I think they're trying to kill me.

Detective Jenkins
08-02-2004, 11:52 AM
He gave a small nod to indicate that he understood his reasoning...

"Makes sense. Listen, I can protect you if need be, but I'll need some answers. Who are "They"? And what does this have to do with Tiffany?"

Jason Sanborn
08-02-2004, 12:02 PM
John looked around. So far, no one appeared to be paying them much attention. The old man had been called into the back, and John was able to take the seat next to LJ.

John: I don't know who they are. I discovered I was being used by the bank I worked for to launder dirty political money. I didn't know who to trust, so I called Tiffany. Then there was the explosion at the diner we were supposed to meet at. I thought she was dead, but found out differently yesterday. I've been trying to get in touch with her sinee I found out, but haven't been able to. Do you know where she is?

Detective Jenkins
08-02-2004, 12:15 PM
He sat back down and continued to speak just above a whisper...

"Right now, no, I don't know where she is. But I'm looking for her, that's why I was at her apartment when you called. From the look of things she was in a hurry to leave. Do you know where else she could have gone if she was in a hurry to leave this city?"

Jason Sanborn
08-02-2004, 12:24 PM
John hesitated and looked around. He was clearly frightened.

John: I don't know. Maybe she went to our folks. I haven't tried to call them, since they told me they never wanted to see or talk to me again.

Suddenly, John turned and stared at the sliding doors into the waiting room from outside. LJ saw two men in suits walk in. LJ could tell by the way they walked and the way their suits looked that both had side-arms hidden under their jackets. The two scanned the people in the room, and stared right at John.

John: Oh no!

John jumped up onto the chair and jumped over the back of the chair running farther into the hospital. The two men began to run into the waiting room, intent on following John.

Detective Jenkins
08-02-2004, 12:41 PM
"They never want to ....???"

That's when he saw the two men coming in and obviously packing some heat. He was then caught off guard when John sprung up and bolted like someone lit a fire in his butt. What was he going to do? He had to think quick....

So he just sat there and picked up the Sports section and played like he was reading it until the men passed him by. Once they did, he got up and followed behind the two men hoping that they would focus on John and not notice that they had someone tailing them.

Jason Sanborn
08-02-2004, 12:47 PM
The men ran into the hall after John. They were not paying attention behind them, so LJ was able to chase after. Nurses and doctors shouted at John, the two men, and LJ to stop running through the hall. John grabbed a food cart and pushed it towards the two men chasing him. One of the two men easily avoided the cart and kept running after John. The other man was hit by the cart and fell to the ground. Food trays fell out of the cart onto the man, who appeared to have been caught off guard by John's action. The man cursed, shaking some of the food off his suit as he sat on the floor.

Detective Jenkins
08-02-2004, 01:06 PM
And as he sat on the floor LJ ran up to him and pulled out some handcuffs. He quickly handcuffed the guy to a railing and told him...

"Stick around."

Before running after the second guy still in pursuit of John.

Jason Sanborn
08-02-2004, 01:13 PM
The man LJ cuffed to the railing shouted angrily after LJ, and tugged at the cuffs, to no avail. John, still being chased by the other man, turned a corner and ran straight into a male nurse, both the nurse and John fell to the floor. The man quickly caught up to John and lifted him off the floor, pinning him against the wall.

Man: John Ibets. Thought you could escape, did you?

The man stopped talking and spun his head in the direction of LJ.

Man: Who are you? This doesn't concern you. Be a good boy and walk away now.

The man was of average build, yet he appeared to have lifted John over a foot off the ground with little effort.

John: (Gasping for air.) Help me.

He needed to handle this as delicate as possible...

"Sorry to disappoint, but this does concern me. Don't do anything foolish. Put him down. This is my only warning."

The man narrowed his eyes and glared at LJ.

Man: You are the only foolish one here. If you don't turn around right now, you will be hurting.

This statement was followed by a growl. The man appeared to actually be growling at LJ.

Detective Jenkins

As soon as he heard the growl something clicked inside of LJ. Repressed memories started flooding up within and spilled out of him as his eyes took on a crazy look. Inside his head, the tune of "Throw ya guns" by Onyx played as he unholstered his gun, pointed it at the man and yelled out something very weird...

  "I ...am NOT..... A SISSSSSSYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!"

He fired two shots that were aimed at the guy's head.

<hr>

::"Great...." Molly glared at the cops.::

Sure I'll move away from it.

::She said and pushed the medical cart right at them, she turned down and a hall and tried to run. It was hard with her leg. She saw a fire alarm and grabbed it to start of the alarm. Before long everyone would think there was a fire in this wing. Maybe because of the confusion she would be able to get to Frank. She started trying doors and found one that was open. She went inside it, a closet. She hoped to find a disguse.::

((Jason if you don't like that Molly turned on the fire alarm, I can change the post.))

Jason Sanborn

((Works for me. ;)))

As Molly pushed the cart, Sergeant Kols pulled the trigger. The bullet narrowly missed Molly as she quickly turned the corner. The cart struck him in the leg causing him a slight amount of pain, but not enough tom stop him.

Kols: (Rubbing his knee.) You go after her, I'll stay here and guard Knome!

Hahn nodded and immediately began to run after Molly. At that moment the fire alarm was sounded in this wing of the hospital. The nurse had already fled, seeking more help from the hospital security. It wouldn't take long for hospital security to arrive to help Kols and Hahn.

All the doors in this section were unlocked, many were open. Molly found a room where a woman was in bed. She looked at Molly in fear, wondering what was going on.

Woman: Who are you? What are you doing in my room? What's going on?

Hahn turned the corner and looked down the hall. Molly was nowhere to be seen. Some nurses came into the hall trying to find the source of the gunshot and the firealarm.

Hahn: Get out of the hall!

Two more shots followed by an unusual howl were heard not far away. Too far away to be either Kols or Molly. Hahn paused, looking down the hall, holding the gun ready. He reached for his radio and called into it.

Hahn: We have shots fired. All available units to respond to Metro City Hospital.

Dispatcher: Roger SAM-19. All available units to Metro City Hospital, Code-1.

Sergeant Hahn carefully began walking into the hall, checking every room for Molly.

<hr>
The bullets found their mark. The man gave a howl in pain and dropped John to grab hold of his face. Red blood was puring through the man's fingers as he howled. The howl could be heard clearly above the fire alarm that just started. The howl was definately not human, almost like a wolf. John ran up to LJ.

John: (Panting) Thanks. I need to get out of here. They know I'm here.

Jason Sanborn

The woman looked at Molly with a frightened look.

Woman: Is there a fire? What is that howling? I heard gunshots too.

The room had a single bed, which the woman was lying in. She had many tubes and wires connected to her body. It was clear that the woman was very sick, probably just recovering from a surgery.

There was a small bathroom attached to the room, and a curtain, currently open, that divided the room between the bed and the bathroom. There were no other doors in the room.

<hr>
Sergeant Hahn walked into the first room, which was two rooms down from Molly's room. An elderly man was heavily sedated, and unaware of his surroundings. Hahn checked the bathroom, and secured the room, before moving towards the next room. He knew that Molly had escaped into one of the rooms, and knew that she had nowhere to go. He would find her soon enough.

<hr>
John looked at LJ with a look of fear mixed with concern.

John: Detective? Are you alright?

The man LJ shot pulled his hands away from his bleeding face and turned towards LJ and John.

Man: That was the last mistake you'll ever make!

The man had claws grow on his hands as he ran towards LJ and John. John saw the man coming and shouted out in fear and began to run away back down the hall towards the waiting area.

::Molly heard the gunshot but assumed it was targeted it at her. She was a very sick woman and Molly didn't want to worry her. But she couldn't stay and talk all day. She knew the cops were probably checking the rooms as she thought of it. It wouldn't be long before one of them found her.::

To be honest I'm not sure. I think you will be safe though. How about I get you a glass of water.

::Molly saw the bathroom's door and quickly went in it and closed it. She ran water and wondered if there would be something here to use. She didn't want to fire her gun, someone could get killed. There was no way out the room except through the door she entered. Bad thing was she was sure the officers weren't dumb enough not to check the bathroom. She looked around the small bathroom. Hoping to find something she could use.::

LJ woke up when John asked if he was alright. He was in a deep daze...

:eh: "Huh? Um..... where??"

He saw the wolflike man coming after him and John and could only do one thing. He screamed...

Sergeant Hahn opened the door to the room that Molly was in. He immediately noticed that the bathroom door was closed and water was running inside. He held his gun with both hands pointing at the door and kicked the bathroom door open.

Hahn: Get your hands up!

<hr>
John ran into a room and waited just long enough for LJ to get in behind him. Once they were both in the room, John slammed the door shut and leaned against the door with all his weight. They were in a lab, currently empty as a result of the fire alarm that was still sounding.

John: (trying to catch his breath) What... is... that... thing?

Suddenly there was a crashing sound against the door. John knew there was no way he could hold it, the man on the other side was way to strong.

John: Help me! I can't hold it!

Detective Jenkins
08-03-2004, 02:56 PM
"CRAP!"

Exclaimed LJ as he threw his bodyweight against the door to help John keep whatever it was OUTSIDE. The force behind the door was still unrelenting which made LJ every bit as frightened as John.

"That .....THING..... is the reason why I want a transfer OUT OF THIS GODFORSAKEN TOWN! I mean first Zombie arms come crawling up my thigh, now THIS? Why can't I get normal assignments like single murders or cats getting stuck in trees?? Is that too much to ask for NOWADAYS?! Come on LJ, think of something!"

Detective Jenkins
08-04-2004, 07:22 AM
He frantically looked around to see if there was anything that they could use against the apparent monster on the other side of the door. Over on the other side of what appears to be a labroom was a table that held some instruments on it. From where LJ was, he thought his saw a scalpel and a syringe which gave him an idea.

"John ....UNGGH ......I need you to hold the door for a second. Can you do that?"

Sergeant Hahn opened the door to the room that Molly was in. He immediately noticed that the bathroom door was closed and water was running inside. He held his gun with both hands pointing at the door and kicked the bathroom door open.

Hahn: Get your hands up!

<hr>

::Molly heard Hahn open the door. She dumped the liquid soap into the cup and when he entered the bathroom she threw the soap in his eyes. She shoved a towel in his mouth, hoping to block off his screaming and push him out of her way and towards the toliet. She closed the door and grabbed a chair and stuck it under the doorknob. It was a chair for visitors to sit in. Molly then rushed out of the room knowing Hahn wouldn't be out of action for too long. In the hallway the nurses were running around upset about the patients' safety and why the fire alarm went off and where the gunshot came from. She saw a room marked supplies and went inside. Oddly enough no one was in here. She saw 2 needles and grabbed them. She looked at the cabients and recognized the name of a sleeping medicine. When she had been in the hospital when she was shot in the leg they had given it to her. The cabinet was locked but she picked the lock on it. She filled up the needles and grabbed a lab coat that was on a counter. She put it on and hoped she would looked more like a nurse or doctor then someone avoiding the cops. Funny when Molly was young all she wanted to be was a cop, because she respected them so much. Now she was running from them. She put the needles in one of her pockets and the revolver in the other. She took a longer way back to ICU. Towards Kols.::

John looked at LJ in shock.

John: You gotta be kidding me. This thing is breaking through the door with both of us!

John repositioned himself to get a better hold on the door, in case LJ ran off anyways. Outside, the sounds of sirens could be heard as the first of the backup units arrived.

<hr>
Hahn dropped his gun and grabbed his eyes. The soap stung his eyes. He was about to shout out in pain, but the sound was muffled by the towel that was lodged in his mouth. The last thing he felt was ais head hitting the edge of the toilet, then blackness as he slipped into unconciousness.

<hr>
At ICU, Kols was standing guard next to the door to Frank's room, his back to the wall. The radio on Kols shoulder was loud enough that Molly was able to hear the radio communications. From the sound of it, the first backup unit had arrived. They wouldn't take long to get to ICU. Other backup units won't be far behind, either.

"Look, it's either we do something or hand this monster a fork and napkin because he looked REAL primed to eat us, don'tcha think?! Me? I'd rather NOT be anyone's main course at least not today, thank you very much."

He bolted over to the table as quick as he could and grabbed a handful of medical tools and made it back to the door in a hurried scramble. Breathing very hard, he opened his hand which had about three syringes, one scalpel and a whole bunch of gauze.

"What the hell am I gonna do with GAUZE?! Crap! Here, choose your weapon!"

Jason Sanborn

The needle hit the wall next to Kols and shattered. He looked in the direction of the sound, then looked on the floor. He saw the broken needle on the floor and bent down to examine it.

<hr>
John braced himself against the door as LJ ran into the lab.

John: I don't know how long I can hold it!

John was losing ground as the door was slowly being forced and beat open. At that moment, LJ returned, preventing the door from opening any further.

John: (confused) My weapon?

He looked at the empty syringes, the scalpel and the gauze.

John: What do we do with these?

John grabbed a syringe and some gauze.

::Molly smiled as Kols bent down. She quickly came up behind him and shoved the other needle into his throat, pressing the sleeping medicine it him. She took his gun and pushed him out of her way, towards another hall. She knew should have taken the time to pick up the broken needle, but she couldn't afford to. She quickly went in Frank's room and closed the door. Taking a chair that visitors could sit in, she set it against the door, knowing it wouldn't block out unwelcome cops for long. She aimed Kols' gun towards the door. She looked to the bed.::

Frank?

He continued to stuggle with the door when he looked over at a glass medicine cabinet.

:eh: "John! Look over there. Go see if there is something in there is some poison or something we can use to put in these syringes. I'll hold the door this time."

Then he heard his cellphone ring. So naturally he picked it up with his free hand while still barring the door as best as he could.

:) "Det. Jenkins. How may I help you?"

Molly Haron
08-04-2004, 01:45 PM
::"Thank God." Molly thought, keeping her eye and gun trained on the door. She rather use Kols gun then the revolver. If she fired or shot someone Kols would get in trouble because the bullet would be from his gun.::

It's Molly. I'm in Frank's room. Sergeants Kols and Hahn tried to arrest me but they are out of action for the moment. Where are you? And what should I do next?

Jason Sanborn

John: This is no time to be talking on the phone, Detective!

John quickly ran over to the medicine cabinent and grabbed several bottles of liquid and ran back to LJ. He put the bottles on the floor in frnt of them as they strained to hold the door shut.

John: I just brought over several, maybe if we mix them, we can get the thing to OD!

The monster banged louder on the door which made LJ yell out to it...

The banging continued louder than ever...

"Geez! Molly? Do you have the gun I gave you?"

Molly Haron
08-04-2004, 03:31 PM
John Ibets?? That man is alive?

::Molly was shocked to hear that.::

Wait a werewolf is there?

::Molly didn't believe in too much supernatural things. Then again zombies did attack Mr. Monet's bank, she still didn't know what to make of that. She had to stop herself from laughing when he yelled at the werewolf.::

Yes I have it and a gun I took from Kols.

Detective Jenkins
08-05-2004, 06:42 AM
He took his syringe and started withdrawing several liquids at random, hoping that his concoction would be poisonous enough to at least slow the beast. The sweat was dripping from his forehead from the excitement of the moment as the monster was almost inside. Still he found time to tell Molly something...

"Yeah, he's alive though I'm trying my best to keep him that way. Listen to what I'm going to tell you. That gun I gave you? The bullets are untraceable hollow points. Do you get what I'm telling you?"

Molly Haron

Outside the lab, the werewolf continued to pound on the weakening door. He could feel it giving way. Finally with a load howl and a crash, he burst through the door. He was completely in his werewolf form, his eyes glowing red with anger.

You will die now!

The werewolf growled and dove straight at LJ before he had a chance to hang up his phone.

Molly Haron
08-05-2004, 09:46 AM
Okay....

::Molly said to LJ, she heard the werewolf and decided they were real. She hoped Ibets and Jenkins made it through okay. She didn't really want to use the gun, she didn't want to be a killer. But to make sure she and Frank left this awful city alive she would do that.::

Detective Jenkins
08-05-2004, 09:48 AM
As the werewolf broke in and dove after LJ while he was still talking on the phone. All he could do in this split second is twist his body around and point the syringes towards the werewolf before it fell on him...

Jason Sanborn
08-05-2004, 09:54 AM
The werewolf impaled itself on the syringe and felt its blood boil as the poisonous substance entered its body. The werewolf screamed in pain, and slashed at LJ. The werewolf was slowing down though, and LJ was able to push the body off. Within a couple moments, the werewolf was motionless on the floor. The slow rising and falling of its chest indicated it was still alive, but asleep. The werewolf slowly shifted back into its human form, scars and dried blood on its face where the bullets once entered.

John: Now what?

<hr>
Down in the waiting room the police were gathering. They knew that two men were down, but they didn't know their condition. For all they knew, the two sergeants could be dead. There was an unknown number of suspects at large in the hospital, and the only place secured at the moment was the Waiting Room, which was quickly being turned into a command center. Ordenrs were being ginden, and arriving officers were being sent to other exits to the hospital, and the commander in charge was beginning to coordinate with hospital security for a layout of the hospital, possible exits, and access to the security cameras.

Detective Jenkins

While he was waiting to see if Molly would pick up the phone, LJ answered...

"My definition of bad is finishing a #2 and realizing that you have no toilet paper. Or getting cursed out by my significant other when it's "that time of the month". This..?"

Jason Sanborn
08-05-2004, 01:42 PM
John followed LJ out of the room.

So, where and who is this Frank?

((There are signs on the walls, directories with arrows, that will lead you to ICU, which is on the first floor, where you still are.))

Detective Jenkins
08-05-2004, 01:52 PM
((Thanx.))

He tried to remember where the ICU was. He started running in one direction at random hoping that something would....

...a few feet in front of him was a large wall directory that pointed out which direction the ICU was. No doubt if he finds Frank, he'll find Molly. He points in that direction and said to John...

"It's this way. Frank is an investigator hired by your sister to try and find out some info you gave her, I think. It was because of that case he's in ICU."

He started jogging down the hall...

Jason Sanborn
08-05-2004, 01:56 PM
John looked concerned as he ran beside LJ.

If he is in ICU because of my sister and I, and we were nearly killed because of me, then my sister could be in serious trouble, or dead, too. I should never have gotten her involved.

Detective Jenkins
08-05-2004, 02:02 PM
"Well, you did get her involved. Get over it. Frank's still alive, WE'RE still alive and if I had to place a bet I'd bet that your sister is still alive also. Past is past, do what you can for right now. Which reminds me... ssshhhh."

He stops their running when he heard officers close by what could be the ICU entrance.

Detective Jenkins
08-05-2004, 02:21 PM
He peeked around the corner and realized that they were not officers but instead were hospital staff going the other way. He dropped his head a little and went with John to the door. He opened it slowly and whispered...

"Molly? You in here? It's Det. Jenkins."

Molly Haron
08-06-2004, 08:09 AM
::Molly saw the door start to open and she walked over and aimed the revolver at it. Relief filled her when it was Jenkins.::

Hurry, get in. The backup will be here soon.

My partner and I went through a lot of trouble for you.

::She looked to LJ.::

We got get Frank out of here and fast.

Detective Jenkins
08-06-2004, 08:52 AM
As they went in, he took in what she said and agreed. Looking around the room he saw some operating clothes and wondered outloud...

"What if we wear those to cover us up and wheel Frank out of here? The building is being evacuated so it's natural to take patients out of here. It should work if someone sees us from a distance."

Molly Haron
08-07-2004, 07:59 AM
It's worth trying. We have to get out of here.

As soon as they all put on the clothes, they start prepping Frank as best as they could for travelling.

"Ok, here's the deal. We make our way to the Ambulance port as fast as we can. If any one stops us, we're in an emergency and we need to get this patient to the nearest hospital fast. That should take us to Spingville General."

Molly Haron
08-09-2004, 01:21 PM

Detective Jenkins
08-10-2004, 06:54 AM
As they were finishing with the prep, LJ answered John...

"Glad to have you aboard John. I will say this to you, we will find her. Now if we're almost ready, I've got a favor to call in."

He flipped his cellphone and called someone. He went to the side and spoke in whispers for a while. When he finished he closed his phone and said to them both...

He nodded at them both and said...

"Then let's do this."

"Now."

AMP

The gunfire from outside soon caused even more chaos for the officers. Several of the officers at the hospital were diverted to try to take care of the gunshots outside the hospital, while others remained behind, in an attempt to stop the suspects from escaping the hospital. At the same time, the officer in charge called for additional back-up, including the SWAT team. He only hoped that the backup would get here quickly enough.

"Phase Two."

As the firefight continued to cause a bit of chaos outside the hospital, Chino received the call for Phase Two to go into effect. He whipped his hands around to signal several guys with bandanas on. Three of them dropped their guns and filed into three separate black SUV's and tried driving around the melee of bullets. Through all of the chaos, their destination seemed apparent: the ambulance port of the hospital.

As LJ and Molly turned the corner towards the ambulance port, they nearly ran over two officers stationed in the hall near the port. Both officers quickly drew their weapons and aimed them at LJ and Molly.

Officer #1: Hold it right there LJ!

The officer who spoke was Sergeant Greg Little. Greg and LJ went through the academy together. From LJ's experience, Greg was not a bad cop, but he was very much by the book. He would not let them past. The other officer appeared to be a rookie or recently transferred from another division, as LJ didn't recognize her.

Outside a police helicopter reached the scene, circling the hospital watching the confusion. The pilot relayed information to the command center inside the waiting room of the hospital. SWAT was also en route, and would arrive in less than five minutes. In the meantime, the officers on scene did their best to try to regain some semblence of control, but the chaos outside was making it extremely difficult.
