A Hidden Planet in the Matrix Quadrant

[Corey]

This was a small planet, not known to many of the Firsts. In fact, it was in question if even the master of the Matrix Quadrant, Lord Mattson, knew that it existed. The planet would be considered medieval like, not a lot of advanced technology and there was nature. Although it was peaceful until the new rulers came in. They were dictators, the king and his queen. Powerful gods, no one could challenge them and the people lived in fear of their rule. They brought their own forms of justice and were not kind to the accused. Today a man was being brought forth to them.

[Jenny]

The man had been beaten, bruises and cut were on his body. Work of the king and queen's soliders. He was in chains and the guard hit his head.

Bow before the King and Queen maggot.

He was an older man and did so. They were in the dark throne room. High on their thrones sat the king and queen.

The king looked at his disgust at the old man. Looking to the guard that brought him in.

What is his crime?

The queen watched with interest as the guard told them the man's crime.

He complained that the taxes were too high.

The old man tried to plead.

Please don't kill me....They are...I'm just an old man...I can't work....Please...

Silence.

And motioned for the guard to beat the old man for talking. The guard hit in the face. The queen looked to her husband to see what he would say.

If one wants to live in a civilized society one must pay taxes. It is the law. It is not your place to say if they are too high. In fact, I think they are too low. Make a note my dear we are raising them.

The king looked at the old man.

Now as for you. The queen will decide your setence for breaking this law.

As if his crime was not bad enough, his has no respect for our rule. We brought order to this world. His sentence is death.

With pleasure, his pathetic pleas bore me.

King Prime formed a fireball in his hand and threw it at the old man. It hit him and he burned slowly to death. In the end all was left as his ashes. He looked to the guard.

You are dismissed.

The guard nodded and left the room.The smell of fire and death lingered in the air.

Queen Sojourn smiled at this and used her telekinesis powers to clean up the ashes. Couldn't have them litter the throne room. She then sat on her husband's lap.

Hmmm...that was fun. I love it when you burn people up.

She said leaning her head down to kiss him.

Yes it was fun. And trust me I know who much you love it. Just like you love other things I do to and for you.

King Prime answered and kissed his queen. His hands moved down the sides of her body. The joy of killing the old man turned to thoughts of more funner things with his wife.

Sojourn how about you teleport us to our bedroom?

He said kissing his wife's neck.

Queen Sojourn kissed her husband back and quickly forgot of the life they took here. Heading to the bedroom was a perfect idea.

You read my mind. I was just thinking that.

She said as she teleported them to their bedroom and onto their bed for to do things they really loved to each other. The door to their bedroom was locked and they wouldn't be seen for a while.

A great party was happening at the King and Queen's palace. The warlords and ladies who loyally served the king and queen were there. Not too many smart people dared to challenge them. These warlords oversaw various parts of the planet. Kept the order and collect taxes. People found breaking laws were sent here for their punishment. Today's party was to enjoy good food, have fun and dance. Of course the poor were by some people's beliefs suffering, but these people didn't think so. After all the King and Queen did bring order to this world. They should be grateful and stop complaining.

The king had his arm around his wife and grabbed two wine glasses being passed around by servants. Handing one to Sojourn, he held the other one and looked at the lords and ladies.

Welcome friends. Tonight we celebrate how wonderful this planet is now becoming. Of course with out your loyal help it wouldn't be like this. Thank you.

He said and the other people cheered and said.

Here, here. Hail to the King and Queen.

Taking a sip, he held his hand to his wife.

My dear would you care to dance?

Sojourn clapped and took sip of the wine. She took her husband's hand.

Taking her in his arms, Prime began to dance with his wife. Before long everyone was dancing. As good as things were inside the palace, trouble was happening outside. Before long a guard came and bowed to the king and queen.

Forgive me. But we have caught someone trying to cause a rebellion in town.

Sojourn didn't like the guard interrupting their dance. But she didn't like hearing the reason for it. She frowned.

Really? Bring the ungrateful slime in.

The guard brought in an old blind woman.

Now tell me what happened.

She claims to have the gift of foresight. My men found her trying to make a group of citizens believe that she foresaw your downfall. Of course that is crazy and we arrested her. The people she talked with are in dungeon also. I figured you would want to see her personally.

The queen's eyes turned yellow as she listened to the guard speak.

You did the right thing. We will deal with the others soon enough. Strave them for now.

She leaned down and grabbed the woman's chin.

Now how dare you speak such garbage? You couldn't see your way out of a paper bag.

Yes my Queen.

The guard said. The woman sneered.

I may be blind. But I saw far more than you'll ever know. A god will come. The God of Vision, he will save us from your rule.

The king slapped the old woman.

There is no other gods. Only us. We are the true rulers of this planet. Nothing will change that.

You shall see.

She said with a big sneer, ignoring the pain of the slap. Prime's eyes were also yellow when he turned to his wife.

I've heard enough of this.

Sojourn summoned her bow to her and shot the woman in the heart. Killing her. She then took a sword and chopped off her head.

That's better. No more talking. Take her head and place it in the town. She is an example of what happens to rebels.

She said to the guard. How dare she claim a god would come to overthrow them. Only her and her husband were gods. There was none else. The woman was just trying to cause a rebellion. All rebels would be made example of and the people would know what would happen to those that dare to defy them.

The guard nodded and left. Prime looked at the corpse of the woman and set it on fire. Rebels how he hated them. So ungrateful for all the good he and Sojourn had done for this world. He smiled to the lords and ladies.

At least she makes a good bonfire.

The lords and ladies laughed and cheered the queen for killing the rebel.

Now back to the party.

Prime said and took his wife in his arms to continue dancing.

The party went back into full swing, people quickly forgot of the useless blond woman. She spoke nonsense and no one but the weak and poor would believe her.

[Jenny]

A man and a woman were alone in a junk yard. The woman turned to her husband.

Honey, why are we here?

[Corey]

Because in this place, we'll find the key to our freedom from these dictators.

Her husband told her. Although all around them was junk and really nothing else. Not much hope to be found here.

[Jenny]

I see. In this junk will be our freedom because...

His wife didn't think so. Actually it was dangerous to be here or anywhere where the rulers of the planet couldn't keep an eye on them. She remembered hearing what happened to the old woman who claimed to be a seer and saw another god come and save the planet.

[Corey]

Because one person's junk is another person's treasure. This is considered junk, but we can build a ship. Escape this world. There other worlds out there my love. We'll go to one.

He touched her face with one hand and her stomach with another. She was pregnant with their first child.

We'll find a new home to raise our family. Safe for the fear and evil of this one. There is hope, here we can find a way to a new life.

[Jenny]

She looked down at her stomach, it sounded so good. But what if the ruling gods found out.

But what if we are discovered? What of the other people on this planet? They deserve freedom too.

[Corey]

I know they do, but we have to do this alone so we aren't found out. Besides remember what the old lady said? The God of Vision would come. I just don't want to wait around for him, besides what if he is no better than the Archer Goddess and the God of the Spark?

He shook his head.

We have to do this, ourselves. For our child and our future.

[Jenny]

She nodded her head.

Yes you're right. Where do we start?

She looked around at all the junk, it seemed almost impossible. But for their child, she would not give up until there was a way to freedom found.

[Corey]

I guess just at one end and work our way to the other. We'll find the things we need to build this ship. It'll just take time and we can't give up.

He would be careful not to let his wife do a lot of heavy lifting in this task before them. They began to search through the rubble and junk hoping to find something, anything that could be used to build a ship.

[Dragons]

The Archer Goddess and the God of the Spark continued to rule over this little planet with an iron fist. People were losing hope and fearful for their lives. Meanwhile the couple was still working on their escape plan. It took longer than they orginally thought it would.

[Corey]

The couple continued to work on their ship. Soon it would be ready. However, word was leaking of activity in the junk yard though. Soon the gods would be there to check it out.

[Corey]

The man looked to the women and then at the ship they built. It was finished but they hadn't tested it yet to see if it would fly.

Soon we'll be free. Just have to test it.

[Jenny]

The woman nodded her head and placed one hand on her stomach. She was about 6 months pregnant, a lot of time had passed while they were here.

Good...I can't wait to leave this place.

[Corey]

The man was about to say more when a fireball came flying by them, barely missing the ship. The God of the Spark and his queen appeared.

The talks were right. You are both under arrest for treason.

The man pushed his lover towards the ship.

Go hurry!

The woman yelled at him. She wouldn't let her love stay here. The Archer Goddess glared at the woman.

Leaving is not an option anyway.

She fired an arrow at the woman.

[Corey]

Honey please...go! One of us has to!

The man yelled as he grabbed the woman's arm to prevent her from being shot by the arrow. He ran and forced her into the ship.

I love you...I'll find you both...somehow.

He said as he kissed her and then locked the door of the ship.

FLY IT!

He yelled to her.

The woman had tears in her eyes, she didn't want to leave her lover, the father of her child behind. But he was right one of them had to go. They never even had the time to test the ship...She prayed it would fly. She started the machine and took flight. Hoping to find someone, anyone who would free them of these terrible rulers. Queen Sojourn tried to stop the ship with her telekinesis powers, but was not able to. She used her TK power to throw the man against a wall.

She won't get very far. We'll find her soon enough. Right now, you will pay for your crimes.

The man watched as the woman escaped. He was pleased and not scared of what awaited him. He didn't give the Goddess the satisfaction of screaming when she threw him against the wall. Although at that speed, it felt like his back was broke. King Prime grabbed the man by his throat. His hand heated and slowly burning the man's throat.

Traitors are not welcome on this planet. You will be made an example of.

Terrible tortures awaited the man for daring to defy the gods and find freedom for his people. The only hope was the woman who escaped.

[Janus]

Janus and his companion appeared before the torture chambers. He released the girl and waved a hand. The doorway shattered into small flacks of dust.

Gentlemen. I advise you cease your acts now, apologize to this man and release him. Otherwise, you will die.

[Jenny]

The woman was surprised how she and Janus appeared in the torture chamber. He must have been strong...It felt a little odd to just suddenly appear like this though. She forgot that when she saw her beloved in the chamber. She covered her mouth with her hand to prevent screaming and stayed behind Janus for protection when he shattered the door.

[Corey]

Janus and his companion appeared before the torture chambers. He released the girl and waved a hand. The doorway shattered into small flacks of dust.

Gentlemen. I advise you cease your acts now, apologize to this man and release him. Otherwise, you will die.

The man was chained to a wall, refusing to talk. He was bloody and had many cuts and broken bones. The three guards were determined to break his will though. It was the order from the king and queen to do so. When the doorway shattered, the guards turned towards Janus. The man looked also, although his one eye was closed shut from the beatings. He smiled a little when he say his love with the mystery man. The one guard spoke.

Let me think....No. Our orders come only from the king and queen.

He motioned with his hand for the other two guards to stand beside him. They withdrew their weapons.

I do not know who you think you are, but you are the one who will die today for daring to interfere.

[Janus]

Are those swords or butterflies you wield?

Janus waves his hand and the blades transform into butterflies.

Now, run tell your masters that the prophet has come. Your blades will return once you leave this room.

As for you girl. Do grab the keys and free the tenderized meat you call a boyfriend. Granted, I bet even when he was healthy, I am better looking but love is blind and makes fools of us all. You two will be sent away so their wrath can only come towards me. After that, I do believe I have a few more visits to make. Yes. The game is just warming up.

HEY! *:evil:

The guards yelled at Janus when their swords were turned into butterflies. Clearly this man had power. He was a fool to think he could take on the king and queen though. They rushed out of the torture chamber to alert the Gods about the new "guest".

[Jenny]

The woman gave Janus a look when he said he was better looking than her lover. She grabbed the keys that one of the guards left behind and unchained him from the wall...He was so hurt, it made her sad. But he was alive and would heal. She looked at Janus.

I still don't know who you are but thank you.

[Corey]

The man wondered who the guy was and why he was helping them. Well he was free, so he didn't care. Maybe Janus could stop the Gods on this planet. He nodded his thanks to Janus. Within a few mintues of hearing of Janus' arrival, King Prime and Queen Sojourn appeared in the doorway. King Prime looked at Janus with yelllow eyes.

I do not know who you tihnk you are, but daring to help prisoners escape is a crime that will not go unpunished.

Queen Sojourn looked at their "guest" with yellow eyes also, waiting to see if he would dare to make a move against them.

[Janus]

Oh, them. They are no concern. Dust in the wind as it were.

With a wave of his hand the two humans in the room became as Janus said but unsensed by most they were sent elsewhere for a year and a day and would appear at another local to start their lives anew.

Pawns so that I might get your attention. I have seen your destinies and it ends rather messily. Lord Mattson will slay you. Tricked by dopplegangers he will steal your power away and give it to them. Sadly without said power, you two will die mortal and rather painfully. This is where I come in. I've decided that plan simply won't work for my goals. A few subtle nudges and events will go in a far more interesting way then that. Now, I do beleive this is where you offer me the position of royal advisor.

So this Lord Mattson was real. The king looked at Janus, how did he know these things? He looked to his wife and asked telepathically.

The king wondered what Janus true objective was...However, maybe he and his wife could use him and his knowledge to their advantage. He nodded to his wife and then said to Janus.

What exactly do you have planned as our royal advisor? Seeing as we do not desire the fate you described involving this Lord Mattson. What is your plan?

I have already set events into motion. If Mattson returns to his homelands, there are other forces ready to move against him. And if not, his son awaits in the shadows. All you have to do is sit comfortably for the moment. Let the dance of the First play out and await the spoils from it. I will need a laboratory for other insurance projects and though it may seem I am gone, you will have but to call my name for me to return. Also, you must never venture to the Saber Vortex. Your doubles dwell there and a confrontation now will only bring you ruin.

The queen wondered if it was wise to trust this Janus. But what choice did she have if she valued her life. She would not allow this Lord Mattson to kill her.

Very well, you will get your laboratory. Have the guards set it up to your needs.

She wondered what her double looked like at this Saber Vortex. She would not allow the other woman to steal her powers. Queen Sojourn actually looked a lot like Sojourn Fan. Same build and height, blue eyes, but her hair was a little darker than the other Archer Goddess'. But their powers were the same.

Just as his wife looked just like Sojourn Fan, the king looked liked Optimus Prime. His hair was a little lighter than the other god's but their build and look were the same. King Prime had the same powers as his double and was not about to lose his power to them and die because of this Lord Mattson. He was willing to trust Janus a little to make sure that didn't happen.

We won't visit this Saber Vortex then. Janus do keep us up to date with your plans for the First.

[Janus]

With a slight bow, Janus acknowledges their requests.

Of course. Given I technically don't exist yet, the First won't know of my movements until its too late.

Pulls out a scroll and hands it to a guard

Exact measurements and materials.

Now for my first step, I must establish lies then secrets. Just call my name and I will return to your realm in a flash.

Floats into the air and slowly fades out with his face fading last.

The king did wonder how wise this was to trust Janus, but then in life there were always risks. The guards went to work to fulfill Janus' requests. Meanwhile the king and queen went back to their normal routine, for now they would not worry about their doubles. They were sure before long they would encounter them, although they would win that battle.

[Janus]

Janus reappears. The seeds of deception were planted and now the wheels would begin to turn. He walks the half built lab and studies the strange things being gathered. He stops and looks at nothing.

Interesting...Truth from another realm. Yes, she may help my gambit.

[Corey]

A guard came to Janus in the lab.

The king and queen wanted me to ask if you have news for them. They want to be kept up to date.

[Janus]

Events are proceeding exactly as planned. I'll be back shortly.

The guard shrugged his shoulders at Janus' response and reported it to his rulers. The king dismissed him and frowned.

I don't like this. He expects us to blindly put our trust in him.

He said to his wife.

He told her and before long a spy left the planet to learn more about the "other" Archer Goddess and God of the Spark.

After several months of spying on the real Archer Goddess and God of the Spark, Shiara returned to her lords. Because of her "friendship" with Lord Kellan, ruler of the country Roke at the Saber Vortex, she was able to meet Sojourn Fan and Optimus Prime. She learned about them and knew Janus was lying to the King and Queen. The lord and lady of the Saber Vortex had no powers and she reported just as much to her masters in a long detailed speech she gave to them upon her return.

So as you see, Janus is deceiving you. Sojourn Fan and Optimus Prime are of no threat to you and have no powers. You could easily destroy them.

As the queen listened to Shiara's report, her eyes glowed yellow. What Janus' game?

She looked to her husband.

The king eyes were also glowing yellow and he nodded his head to his wife.

As do I. Shiara please wait with us. I am going to call Janus and see how he responds to your report.

King Prime called out.

Janus come here at once.

[Janus]

With a thunder clap, Janus appeared. His clothing black and in his hand a skull

Alas, poor Mattson I knew him well.

The king is dead. His dark child claiming the throne by right of patricide. But he would rather be a king maker then king so soon upon the throne a child he shall place. Sister to the fallen king. Her mind bent by the darkling. Her mother beyond reach. Life is stalled and only death remains.

But that is only local news, good rulers, things are much much more dynamic on the universal front.

Looks at their faces

Ah, but you did not trust my words and sent a spy to see your twins. Now you ask yourselves how can a pair with no power be a threat to us?

Janus takes the skull in both hands and shatters it.

The answer is they aren't anymore. It was never them who was a direct threat to you but Mattson. You two are but cogs in the games of others now you have a chance to become players. The king is dead. The waters are still and you can float to the top. But what will you chose to do? All roads are open to you now.

So Lord Mattson is dead? Well I wasn't expecting that, but I am pleased. As for our spy, we had to protect our interests and make sure you were not trying to trick us. Blind trust would be crazy for gods of our powers.

The queen remembered what the old woman said. Lord Mattson would bring their downfall and he was now dead. She smiled at this.

Well so much for seers. You say the roads are now open, do you have a suggestion about which one we should take?

So many choices. You can sit back and watch the games unfold. You can talk to the new king or new queen's advisor, whichever title he seeks to have. You can decalre your realms independence. You can attack the Vortex. Many roads, good rulers, many choices. Some lead to answers. Some to power. All to danger. So what will it be?

The king was more willing to try the options that led to power, but he waited to see what Janus' response to his queen's question would be.

Perhaps but the waters are still now. The halo of the moon holds them at bay for now.

The king saw his wife look to him and said.

You love to talk in riddles don't you Janus? Well since you are our advisor, what road do you suggest we take? I personally want one that will lead to a lot of power.

Then the most likely choice is to ally with Night and despite his temperment, you could gain much power. Or await the storm and clean house when the dust settles.

Oh, and do excuse me. I've a little lost sheep to grab and talk with.

Bows ans sinks through the floor.

Shiara teleported herself and Night from his world to the throne room of the King and Queen's palace. On the throne were her masters. She bowed to them.

SF would have said more to Shiara or leave to find her brother when she got the message. She had to get to Optimus. She was about to teleport home. (http://www.cbreview.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=68419#68419) But she stopped and looked at Shiara.

SF said and using TK sent a spear through Shiara's body.

Shiara didn't even know the spear was coming, she felt intense pain just before she died.

News of the deaths of the king and queen quickly spread through the kingdom. Before long people who were so scared to fight against the dictators, rose up and attacked the castle. They killed the servants of the gods and cheered as freedom returned to their world. A democracy was established and one planet in the Matrix Quadrant was free.
