Nice review Matts. 8)
I'm very much heart-broken that Jade died. *I still held out hope that her and Kyle would get back together again. *But I am glad to see that the writers did this the right way. *Now I have to pick this up.
I'm kinda "meh" on the way she bought it tho...
Seemed just like a convenient way to push the Ion plot forward. *She just kinda... died. I dunno. I knew she bit it in this issue but I was expecting something more dramatic.
The special itself was alright. I can't help but feeling that the people who just buy the IC mini are getting cheated out of story here... *but ah well.

First of all, congrats on your first review, Matts. *Very well done.
As for the content of the book, I have to side with Ozz. *I just don't like Gibbon's writing and the whole Ran/Thanagar War was so confusing to me that I never figured out what was going on. *That sorta happened in the special as well. *Too much of a war setting and too little character development. *Sure, there were some moments, but everything felt so clichéd. *Like Hawkman claiming that he would be getting revenge for the death of Hawkwoman, but most of all, Jade's death. *
Yes, Jade was a character I really liked, even if she wasn't my favorite. *But for a moment I had a deja-Matrix here. *I mean, she babbled and babbled and babbled and then she died. *:?
This event should have taken place in the Infinite Crisis anyway, it leads majorly into Ion and definitely is one of the great lasting effects of IC. *Why put it in a special instead of in the main book? *:ermm:
Anyway. *Gibbons keeps growing as one of my less favorite writers.
