  • Things look good for Hunger Games studio

    Attachment 1671Lionsgate has shown strong fourth-quarter profit on sharply higher revenue from the Twilight frachise and strong television production including Mad Men and Anger Management. The studio posted earnings of $163 million for the three months to March 31. Last year it lost 22.7 million. Revenue rose 21 percent to $785.7 million.

    The full year revenue was up 71% to $2.71 billion with increases in Lionsgate's theatrical, home entertainment, and international business. It is due to the performance of the Hunger Games and the Twilight franchise.

    "We completed a stellar fiscal 2013 with an outstanding fourth quarter that reflected strong contributions from our young adult franchises, as well as the rest of our theatrical slate and our home entertainment and international businesses," said Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer, in a statement Thursday.
