Quarrels and Quills - The Play by Post Role-Playing Community - Powered by vBulletin
  • Happy 20th Anniversary, Crossgen!

As I've said before, Quarrels and Quills' history is and will forever tied with the short lived Crossgen Comics. The very first stories of our community were Crossgen stories, mainly about the gods of the Crossgen Universe, called the First.

In January 2000, Crossgen published its very first comic book.

It was CrossGenesis #1 and it served as a preview to the Crossgen Universe and a launching pad for the first four series: Mystic, Sigil, Scion, and Meridian.

If not for this one shot comic and the interest it sparked in people, Crossgen wouldn’t have taken off. Without Crossgen briefly taking the world by storm, then their message boards wouldn't have been full of fans. Fans who decided to create their own stories in the Role Playing forum of their site. Fans that became friends, fans that wanted to continue their stories even after Crossgen had to fold.

Two of those fans, Jason and Lairston that founded this site.

    So, Happy Anniversary, Crossgen!

I know you didn't last as long as any of us fans had hoped but your legacy lives on. In the stories that were created, friendships that were formed, and this site that still lives on.

You're welcome and I agree, Quaxo.

I feel so old, lol. 20 years has flown by. I was 16 when Crossgen produced that first comic. Now, my kid is going to be 15 in April!

I know! It doesn't seem that long ago that I announced my pregnancy. Before I know it, the kid will be out of school and trying to me a grandma.

Okay, yeah. That was a little bit ago. They were such good books, too.

It shouldn't be, lol. He's almost done with his Freshman year. Of course, I can't believe how big your little boy is getting, Sil.

Don't worry, you're still much younger than me!

Amazing how fast they grow up, though - then you get grandchildren. Strangely, you don't feel nearly as old as feel you have to say you are, because the new arrivals take you back to when your kids were new arrivals: rejuvenation via nostalgia...

Well this Saturday was Teddy's 15th birthday. I definitely feel old but have some hope now. Since Xetal said grandkids make it a little better. Not that I want to be a grandmother any time soon.

No rush - it'll happen when it's meant to, but it'll give you years and years to enjoy yet...
