Sounds good to me. I won't be taking a new character at this point, due to the holiday season. Maybe after the first of the year. I assume we'll still be in the DCU at that point.
QC1: From this day forth you shall be called "Sprinkle Berryweather".

Kevin Flynn: The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Ships, motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day... ...I got in!

I'm thinking that our characters will be in the DCU for one adventure and then move on, unless we find some reason to stick around. When I first suggested this idea, Mattson referred to it as a Sliders SL, which is the kind of format that I'm thinking we could use for this RP. Our characters arrive in a universe, react to how crazy it is, get involved in whatever trouble is going on (or possibly cause the trouble, in the clone's case) and when the problem or situation is resolved in some way we move on. At least that's what I'm thinking we could try for now, things could change. If someone comes up with a different idea or if the story needs another format we could try other things out.

I think came up with an idea for the problem in the DCU that our characters could get involved in, and I want to know what you guys think about it.

My idea involves a race of higher-dimensional aliens called the Xorzam. They exist on a higher level of reality and possess supremely advanced technology. They have the ability to travel through the multiverse of the lower dimensions (aka the universes of the RP). Normally they explore the various universes out of curiosity or for entertainment.

The Xorzam travel within habitat cubes, which are floating world-sized pockets of higher-dimensional space contained within a crystal cube that's a meter in height and width on the outside. Each cube contains only one Xorzam and all of the advanced technology that they need in their travels. The face of the cube is a display screen which acts as a window that the Xorzam can sense through, and to outsiders it looks like a large eye peering out from one side of this otherwise transparent crystal cube.

The problem arises because a trio of Xorzam have arrived in the DCU, and they aren't the noble explorers that travel to worlds seeking to learn all about them. These three are geeks and fanboys that travel to all of their favorite worlds, abduct locals and through mind-control force the abducted people to fight one another in order to play out various debates these three Xorzam have about which person would win in a fight with another person. I'm thinking they're like some posters on comicbook messageboards, that I've visited, that like to post threads about one character fighting another character. Only these Xorzam kidnap and control minds in order to play out their little debates. Essentially, this trio will capture several heroes and villains, take them to an arena that the Xorzam have created with their advanced technology, and force various abductees to fight one another.

The trio will be three huge geeks with technology that grants them god-like power and they're constantly arguing with each other about matters of geekdom that matter only to them. They can only think to use their great power to settle their little debates about their favorite universes and people within those universes.

I'm thinking our characters will get involved when a Xorzam shows up to abduct Batman just as he's tracked down our characters and is about to confront them. The Xorzam will also decide to abduct one of our characters in order to take part in their games. I'm believe Gamma, Ruri, Meteorette and Cloney are the most likely choices to be abducted, since they represent a character or character type from the kind of universes the trio would be fans of (except for Cloney, but the Xorzam would sense a lot of energy within him and assume he's powerful enough to make an interesting addition to their game). If there's a good suggestion for why one of the other characters would be taken instead, we could go with that. Generally the idea is that one of the group is taken and the rest of us will have to get involved and try to free the captured character.

I'll probably let the rest of you decide who gets taken. It can be Cloney if no one else wants the role. The character that's abducted will essentially be left with interacting with the Xorzam and any abducted DCU character, while the rest of the characters are searching for them.

I wasn't meaning more than one story, but the slow responses that seem to have been the norm for the holiday season.

I think it is a great idea. Here's my suggestion to that as well. Those three are actually immature and younger. Perhaps teenagers of their people. Those who do more of the observing might have noticed the arrival of Cloney and the others. They could sense that they have more ability and instead of interfering with the boys, they watch to see what happens, looking for a way to become involved later when it might work to their advantage to find out how to travel to the greater dimensions. It could turn into a greater threat during the DCU, and a background threat in other stops along the way. Sort of like an overall threat aside from the smaller threats faced in other sub forums.

That's a great suggestion. Having the adult Xorzam step in can be an option for resolving the story, if we can't come up with another idea when the time comes. And I like the idea of setting them up for future stories.

Also, I've been meaning to ask you if a sub forum can be set up for this RP. I've been thinking that even though we'll be RPing in other sub forums we could still use someplace to put character bios, storyline information, idea threads and even RP threads for universes that don't currently have their own sub forum (for example, I've been thinking that a visit to the Star Trek universe might be interesting at some point). What do you think? Is it too soon in the RP to do this?

Teenage Xorzam sounds good. Not sure if abducting Gamma would be such a good idea considering how unreliably I'm on line (I'd suggest someone with a good connection and time to post frequently). I have thought of a completely logical (to Gamma's mind, anyway) reason for Gamma to suggest that the others all dress up as Batman if anyone needs prompted to do so.

Sure, we can create a subforum for this and other Cloney adventures if you like. Just think of a name for the forum and a brief description and PM myself and Gary. Whoever is available first can set it up.

    A name for the subforum?

Um. Naming stuff. My one weakness.

I could use the "On the Wrong Page" title.
Or maybe "Across the Void", in reference to the void-like realm that Cloney travels through.
Or "An Idiot's Guide to the Multiverse".
"George Cloney and his Amazing Friends"

I'll probably sleep on it and see if I can decide on something tomorrow.

What do the rest of you think?

"Cloney's Multiversal Misadventures" has a certain ring to it...

As a Green Lantern fan I like rings, and so I went with this. The PM's have been sent out, all of the glassware of this thread has been packed in newspaper and I think we're ready for a move.
