The little Quaggan dressed as a ghost scored a tremendous amount of candy corn from me.

I did Halloween events in both GW1 and GW2 this year, and had lots of fun with both.

Its a toss up between the two Quaggans (ghost and pirate) and the char kid - 'Its Haller - hall- Its candy day.' for my favorites.

Yeah, that Charr kid is adorable! Charr don't usually trigger my cuddle reflex, but that one does.

So due to crazy weather, fighting off a cold and other real life stuff, I didn't get to check the November stuff and wasn't in a Christmas mood for most of the holiday season but I did manage to get a fair chunk of the Wintersday stuff done.

My friend and I proved that a party of 2 could do the 5 toy dungeons. It wasn't easy. We died a fair bit. But we did manage to do the Ventari, Princess, and Griffon runs with the two of us. Recruited helpers for the other two as the Griffon one was evil. Accidently did it second. It is a lot easier to do with 4-5 players though. The runs were rather fun and the get rewards to build a minipet toy was interesting if there were a few problems imoo. The toy frames are account bound so can't be sold. The magic cogs are the same. You can only easily get enough cogs for 3 of the 5 toys even though you can get all 5 frames. The other two bits needed were cotton and glue. You could only get enough for 2 and a half of the 5 toys with those two things. Now you had a small chance to get more glue or cotton from present drops but _I_ never did in all the presents I had and I opened probably two dozen or so presents at least. And maybe buying those via trading was looking at 20 to 30 times their listed value (if selling to a merchant) for the cotton or glue. So I think it could have been better if easier ability to get more magic cogs, cotton, or glue. If you redo the dungeon, you got 0 cogs, glue or cotton and thats just harsh. Even if you only got like 1/4th as much as the initial run, I'd be ok with that as I could make the minipets and not have the frames and cogs cluttering my inventory.

Now onto the Toypacolypse event. This was quite fun. You have your choice of 3 weapons - toy repair pistol, toy rifle, or toysmasher candycane. I picked the rifle as I was using my ranger and long range pain is my stic there. You and several other people have to protect animals in a central local from malfunctioning toys via slaying the toys and/or making defensive devices. It took me 3 hrs of play to survive the whole thing (3 play throughs) and when I did, I got high score too. Some people may say that you need headset coordination but I say that you just need to figure out how to get the defenses built, have others doing similer and just kill the toys before they get to the animals. Now I know there were issues with people playing together but getting seperated when they tried the area and thats annoying so I can't give this a perfect rating.

I looked briefly at the snowball fight and it was PvP and not my cup of tea. Then there was the bell choir game and I was just lost. So that just leaves the presents in random areas. Set up was open present - have 5 random monsters from the toy dungeon area show and attack along with a real present drop. Rather fun and it works well enough. Amusingly, my big bad char was humbled by the freaking princess dolls twice in the low level area. Little brats regened each other and status slaughtered me.

The decorations in LA were nice and the snowballers in the central area were cool (or pesky or both). So in the end, Wintersday felt different then Halloween and thats good but it felt more buggy then it and more demanding of you to have a good sized party around often too.
