    Planet Nero: Detour to Llyr

    Planet Nero: Detour to Llyr

Planet Nero is a planet that has two extreme climates and kingdoms. The kingdom to the South is called Fotia and is mainly desert. It has blistering heat. The kingdom to the North is called Pagos and is full of snow and ice. It has freezing temperatures. The citizens of both kingdoms have long since gotten used to the climates. For much of Nero's history the kingdoms of Fotia and Pagos would go to war. This ended 25 years ago because of the Great War. Fotia and Pagos had a war so horrible and bloody it almost destroyed the planet. Children were orphaned and it was hard to find someone who had not lost a least one loved one because of it. Queen Ember of Fotia and King Lars of Pagos called a truce. Both had lost their families and almost their own lives in a war they couldn't even remember why it started. In the Mountains of Mesos, they built the City of Eirini. Built perfectly halfway between both kingdoms, it serves as a peaceful meeting point for the rulers and a place of trade between the kingdoms. Over time the wounds of the past have slowly healed the kingdoms live peacefully with each other until recently.

    Previously on Nero:

The trials of the T'brryr, Dayana, and Geoffers were decided The T'brryr and Geoffers were given second chances, while Dayana was banished to Taurus to join Seth for her crimes. Afon (God of Floods and ex lover of Gwynn) decided to get revenge on his ex and her family for not going with his plan of killing Maverik, though. He recruited Dayana and Seth for it...

The coordinates to which Afon directed Dayana and Seth would take them to a barrier island off the coast of the largest landmass on Planet Llyr. The air was crisp and a little damp, but not chilly, and the wind whistled pleasantly through the pine trees. The coastline was peppered with rocky crags, and the nearby beach was formed of small round pebbles, rather than sand. A mountain rose in the distance, jutting into a steep point. Rolling hills at its base led to the pine forest that bordered the water. The visible grass was a pure, brilliant green.

The land was pristine and unspoiled - but clearly not entirely uninhabited, judging by the ancient circle of standing stones in a nearby clearing that hinted at religious rites performed generations ago, and further along the beach the ruins of an old building, now entirely rotted so only stone foundations and the remnants of a stone fence were left.

Afon drew in a deep breath, the sea air a welcome scent after the barrenness of Taurus. He didn't love Llyr. It bored him. Even so, there was an undeniable homey familiarity to the place for him, after hundreds of years as one of the resident gods before his long slumber.

"We're here," Afon announced to Dayana and Seth. "No one will overhear us. This island hasn't had anyone living on it for a hundred years. If we need anything, there are people on the mainland who will be happy to provide for us Firsts, but we can use the island as a place to plan without being disturbed."

It was very tempting for Dayana to dump Seth in a volcano instead of taking him with her to Llyr but she resisted the urge. She could kill him later. After they got revenge on Nero's Firsts and after the Hunter was dead.

    "Nice place."

Dayana replied looking around, much nicer then Taurus had been and more pleasant then Nero.

"I take it the people here actually realize we're better then them, right?"

She didn't think Afon would act like humans were his friends, not how the Royal Family and Angel acted around humans.

Depending on Dayana to take him to Llyr had been awful. Seth hated having to ask her for anything. Although he did agree that Llyr was much nicer then Taurus had been. Of course, any place was better then that hell Robin had put him through. He hoped the people around Llyr knew their places. He didn't understand why Nero's Firsts treated humans they way they did. Why act like their opinions mattered when you could just rule over them?

"What's your grand plan for revenge on those other Firsts?"

    Seth asked Afon.

"Thanks," Afon said when Dayana complimented their surroundings. He sounded almost like he was taking credit for it, although he'd had no hand in Llyr coming to be.

He nodded in response to her question. "They worship us and fear us," he replied casually. "No problems there. They'll do what we want to avoid a smiting. It didn't take too many floods and storms to convince their ancestors that the gods must be appeased, and old traditions die hard. Especially when the god shows up again."

Seth's question brought a smile to his face.

"That's what we need to decide," he said. "Obviously, one possibility is to just kill them. I'd rather make them suffer first, though. I'm sure you two must have some ideas for how to cause pain?"

"Good, that's how it should be."

Seth replied with a nod of his head when Afon said the humans worshiped Firsts and feared them. It was good that they knew their place on Llyr, unlike the humans did on Nero.

"Killing them would be too easy and not as enjoyable."

Seth said in agreement. The Firsts of Nero needed to suffer for what they had done and Seth was in favor of causing them pain before ending their lives.

"They're pretty attached to their precious mortals. We could cause some mass chaos among their citizens."

Dayana replied that Afon was welcome and was pleased that Llyr's mortals knew their place in the universe. Mortals were supposed to worship and fear the gods not think they were equal to them. When Seth said they could create some mass chaos on Nero, she replied.

"They would just help their people, although...Selene and Barrett's powers essentially cancel each other out and would create massive flooding if they fought..."

And they did have the God of Floods with them.

"When I fully regain my powers I can create the illusion that Seth and I are them and Afon you could create a massive flood on Nero. We could make their people think that Selene and Barrett trying to destroy their planet and be dictators. Maverik would go after them for it too."

Her original plan had been for the Gods of Fire and Ice to go to war with each other to protect them from Seth. Now, though, they could pretend they were still going to war and going to take Nero down with them.

    "That might work."

    Seth replied to Dayana's suggestion.

"Although there's the problem with our voices. Your spells can't mimic those and they've probably spoken enough in public that their people know their voices."

Still if they found a way to mimic that, that would cause some big problems for the king and queen of Nero.

"We'd also have to make sure they couldn't stop us...Perhaps Afon should pretend to be Barrett and I'll distract the Firsts another way, in another part of the planet."

He had an armada he controlled, he could provide a distraction in one end of Nero and Afon and Dayana could pretend to attack each other at the other end.

    "Yeah, there is that..."

Dayana said with a frown. Although she liked the suggestion of her pretending to fight Afon better. If she fought Seth, she might break character and actually try to kill him. Plus they'd need Afon's powers for the flood. She thought a moment and said.

"There's a First who might help us. His name is Camillus, or at least it was."

For all Dayana knew he could have changed it when he awakened. She hadn't seen him since her last life cycle.

"He can mimic the sounds of anything. Including other people. Although, he'd want something in return for helping."

Camillus never liked doing things for free.

Afon began to grin as Dayana and Seth batted around ideas. This was just his sort of plan.

"That should work well," he said. "We may as well talk to Camillus. It would be really helpful to have his skills, and if the price is too high, we can always say thanks but no thanks. That's a great way to go after Selene and Barrett. I want Gwynn hurt too, though."

Might as well be blunt about that. Dayana knew Gwynn was his ex, and there weren't happy feelings between them.

"Angel is just as bad as the others. We'll have to kill her too. So we need to figure out a way this destroys all four of them, not just the king and queen."

If he could destroy Gwynn's little human boyfriend in the process also, so much the better.

Dayana wasn't truly surprised that Afon wanted Gwynn dead. He might not be saying it, but she was sure the new boyfriend was high on his list too.

"Well, 'Selene' and 'Barrett' could kill Geoffers. He's a traitor and they might have decided they didn't want him a part of their family. Of course, if Camillus is willing to help, we could always have Geoffers break Gwynn's heart too. Saying he decided she wasn't good enough for him."

She was sure Afon wouldn't object to breaking Gwynn's heart in more ways then one.
