"The longer Amada keeps me trapped here the harder it will be to do anything. We must help Nico get rid of Amada." Kat pointed out. It felt so strange speaking like this about her life... but it was the truth.

Johanan nodded, "Yeah we must get rid of Amada and her followers. They are a disgrace to all vampires. And the only solution for those kind is Nico's way. Extermination."

"So we must aid Nico and Father Van Andruian all we can so we can get away from here." Kat replied and placed her hand over Johanan's.

And Nico's way had proven a healthy distraction for him that night. It was by no means a record night, but he seen to it that a small handful of vampires would never stalk mankind again. He wasn't sure of their loyalties, but it mattered not. Nicodemus was good at a number of things, but taking prisoners was not one of them. Surprisingly enough, Brother Coronada was the one who had the best track record in this area. He was apt at pinpointing living men and women that were associated with the vampires, even if only loosely, and bringing them in for questioning. Between him and the zealous Vater Hexenhammer, Father Van Andruian had his work cut out for him at the Church.

But amid regulating the many new operatives at Santa Maria, Van Andruian had managed to forward a little bit of information to Nicodemus concerning the mysterious vampire who went by Johanan. "We're still investigating," he had told Nico. "But it would seem that he's quite a man of controversy. He's defended petitions to Saint Mary most eloquently to Protestants, but he focuses much more effort on trying to legalize marriage for priests. Anything else you wished to know, Brother? We've confirmed that he's already fulfilled the duties for which he was sent."

"Any birth record?" Nicodemus asked apprehensively.

"Hmm..." Van Andruian filtered over. "I... cannot find anything."

"I don't think that you will."

The Templar seemed displeased to hear this. "And what makes you say that?"

"Apparently," Nicodemus explained, disdain for Johanan clear on his voice, "the man is a vampire. Repentant, he claims, but... I do not trust him. Katrina is housing him for the night, and I do not think she knows."

"You think he's a vampire, and you let him stay with her?"

Nicodemus hesitated. "He supposedly rescued her from a plot of the cultist Amada. If she dies, then I've made a terrible lapse in judgment; one which I will regret. But this man knows that he is on record, and can only expect to be sent to Hell if he harms her. I think we can at least take a day's time to be sure this is a dangerous man."

"I'm not sure what to think of him being an unregistered vampire. He may have been turned recently, you know."

"True." Nicodemus sighed, tapping his chin as he moved towards the shadow of a building. The sun was beginning to rise in the east, and he needed to go find somewhere to rest. "Look to see if he is in connection with any bishops. He claims a number of high-ranking friends; golf companions, even. That might test the authenticity of his claim of innocence and good intention."

"I'll see what I can do, Nicodemus. Go with God, Brother."

"And you." With that, the Stregoni Benefici made his way back to the Church, slipping inside as the sky began to light. He'd left a note under the door to the other monks' quarters, reading

"Please ask Brother Edmund to visit the site of the new orphanage. His gifted perception will be put to good use in seeing them to a good start.

    ~Approved by Father Van Andruian

E Nomine Patris, et Fili, et Spiritu Sancti."

Johanan nodded, "Yes we must. And hopefully I can avoid getting on his bad side. He's got quite a bit more training in combat then I." Johanan winked at her but he was still showing concerns for the pain she felt. He looked out as the day began to blossom.

Kat fell asleep holding onto the hope Johanan had given her. It was difficult for her to rest with the pain in her head but she did finally succumb to her exhaustion. The Nun's forbid the children access to the mysterious Catacombs and so of course many stories began to spring up about why. They grew more fantastic as the day went on.

Even Mick was tired and slept most of the day by Katrina's bedside in the dark tunnels.

    ***

Amada was highly irritated the children had been moved to the fortress Kat had put up. Now she would have her work cut out for her.

After Kat fell asleep and had been asleep for a good while Johanan gently rose and went to the refrigerator. He needed some nourishment and helped himself to a packet of the blood. After he finished cleaning up, he returned to Kat and laid back down again holding her and joined her in sleep.

Holly growled as the night disappeared and she had to find shelter. She had remained outside the compound with the others hoping that they might venture out again. But the plan didn't work. She eyed the compound and then retreated back to the Bloody Skull.

And down into her secret room. She kicked over a wastebasket in her anger and resentment at the monk and laid down. She cursed the sun for coming up when she wanted to stay and keep her quarry trapped personally.

'A lowly monk shot her!' She couldn't believe it.

As the sun was low on the horizon, Kat opened her eyes. Her head was throbbing. Mick was whining to let her know he needed to go out. She stood and the dim room was suddenly filled with sparkling lights in her eyes. She felt nausea sweep over her then she collapsed.

Mick sniffed at his fallen mistress then began to bark frantically to alert someone.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 10th January 2009, 12:44 PM
Mick's barking woke Johanan and he sat up. Then saw what was wrong. "Oh no Katrina!" He rushed off the bed to her side and leaned down and prayed for a pulse. He felt one but knew it was weaker then it should be. He picked her up gently and carried her back to the bed.

"I want that 'russian pig' and the 'vampire slayer dog of the Church' out of here! They are messing everything up! No! You better do something about it or I'm going to move the operation! If I do, you and your friends will be paupers again!" Amada snarled into the phone then disconnected.

She was turning a several people a night with the help of her group but the vampire slayer was reducing their numbers faster than she could turn people. Amada was losing ground. Her attempts to get her hands on the American woman the vampire slayer had been seen with had thus far turned into disaster.

Amada had no leverage on the vampire slayer... not yet. However she knew the Swiss Banker she talked to before the local sheriff had connections in the Vatican. There were Cardinals in the Vatican that were willing to listen to reason.

This was looking more and more grim as time went on. She was about ready to pack it in and run.

About 15 minutes later Kat opened her eyes again. "Again?" she asked embarrassed but quickly realizing she must have passed out again.

Once the morning was underway, Brother Edmund arrived on the doorstep of Katrina's home; the new orphanage. The blind monk stood at the door, a slight smile accentuating his wrinkles and peeking through his thick beard. He rapped on the door with the head of his cane, then held tightly to it as he waited. Surely, one of the nuns would be able to spare a moment to let him in. If they took a while, well... he was a patient man. And the blind had little work to do around the monastery. He could wait.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 10th January 2009, 02:07 PM
The Nuns were trying to figure out the control panel again. Finally one of them hit the right button to allow Brother Edmund access. Several of the children greeted him at the door they watched magically open to allow him in. They had been calling to the Sisters to tell them he was there even though they already knew and were panicked about how to let him in.

Sister Ignacia went down to meet him. "Brother Edmund, I'm so sorry, we could not figure out the computer..."

Johanan nodded his head. He sadly answered, "Yes again." He took her hand and squeezed it. Then touched her face gently with his other hand.

((I get the feeling that Johanan would be wise to stay away from Brother Edmund))
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 10th January 2009, 03:01 PM
"Mick! Mick needed to go out... did anyone let him out?" Kat suddenly remembered. Her head was throbbing mercilessly and Johanan's cool hand felt very good to her.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 10th January 2009, 03:08 PM
Johanan grew concerned that she would pass out again."Take it easy. No... I didn't think to let him out. Don't worry. I'll let him out. Um does he need watched while he's out?"
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 10th January 2009, 03:13 PM
"No, Mick knows how to go out his door and come back in... just let him out of the Catacombs." Kat replied through clenched teeth, as pain racked her brain.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 10th January 2009, 03:21 PM
Johanan looked at her. He didn't want to leave her like this but he knew she wouldn't relax until Mick was taken care of. "I'll be right back"

He told Mick to come and went to the exit and opened the door to let Mick out.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 10th January 2009, 03:31 PM
The big mastiff darted out the door and several children were hovering nearby. He politely went to sniff at them and lick a few hands but then darted off to resume taking care of his duties. The dog had kept the children from crowding the door to ask Johanan questions.

When he returned to her bedside Kat was attempting to sit on the side of the bed, holding her forehead in an attempt to keep her head from exploding as it seemed to want to do.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 10th January 2009, 03:40 PM
Johanan returned to her after Mick was out the door and was happy he had prevented the kids from seeking information from him since he wanted to get back and sat down beside her and put his arm around her. Then hugged her. "I wish you weren't in such pain Angel." He sighed and look at her pain filled face sadly.
Posted by Paladin Dave (Member #82835) on 10th January 2009, 03:56 PM
Brother Edmund cast a friendly grin straight ahead as he tapped his way inside, having heard the door open and the children's clamor. "Good day there, children!" he chuckled lightly as he slowly made his way in. "Ooh, mind my cane 'there, little ones. I can't quite see where I'm going, and I would hate to poke one of you!"

When Ignacia came down, Brother Edmund managed to look in her general direction. "Oh, it's no trouble, Sister! I'd be lost on the things even if I had the eyes of a hawk. You needn't apologize. Erm... would miss Katrina happen to be in today? I had heard that she's returned, and wished to stop in and say hello and see what sort of start the orphanage was off to. Could you please tell her I'd like to visit?"
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 10th January 2009, 04:15 PM
"We haven't seen her, she was going to stay in the Catacombs, until she finds another place. We had an attack last night. She and her companions managed to protect us from the vampires. I haven't seen her yet this morning."

"Please Brother Edmund, follow me." Sister Ignacia led him to the elevator and took him up to the kitchenette, he had visited before. "I will make some tea and send one of the children to fetch Katrina."

Kat looked up at Johanan. "Yes... hope... and a miracle...that's what we need." The pain was intense and she could not stop the tears from flowing.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 10th January 2009, 09:20 PM
"We'll find it Angel. We must." His voice was sad but determined.

Johanan moved behind her and straddled her as she sat on the edge of the bed and rubbed her back and neck soothingly. Trying desperately to find something that will ease her pain.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 10th January 2009, 09:28 PM
"I'm sorry about this... I'm not accustomed to being in this sort of situation." Kat was embarrassed. Johanan was being so good to her. Her head was not letting her enjoy anything at the moment. She seriously felt death would be preferable to this intense pain. She struggled up to her feet stubbornly. "An ice pack... maybe ice..." She was not steady but she was determined.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 10th January 2009, 09:34 PM
Johanan watched her get up. "Its okay Angel. I'm not used to this either. Wait go slowly" He got up and came up beside her, "You can lean on me if it would help."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 10th January 2009, 10:27 PM
"Might not be a bad idea..." Kat replied and took his arm gratefully. Her eye sight was somewhat fickle at the moment.

He put his other hand over hers gently and led her out of the room and to the kitchenette. "Sit down here and I'll get you some ice." He rummaged through the freezer and soon had an ice pack for her. He brought it to her and asked, "Can I get you anything else Angel?"
Posted by Paladin Dave (Member #82835) on 10th January 2009, 11:30 PM
"Oh, take your time." Edmund replied, nodding to Ignacia as he eased himself into a chair. He took a few sniffs, frowning as he realized that the air didn't smell of warm cookies like it had last time.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 11th January 2009, 05:16 PM
"Help me back to bed? Maybe if I lie down...?" Kat replied to Johanan, moving the ice every few moments, trying to cover all the areas hurting. She stood and held onto him as he escorted her back. She was fiercely nauseated from the pain.

    ***

Sister Ignacia put the kettle on and sat down with him at the table. "I am quite frankly worried about Katrina. She is deathly pale and seems to be in pain but trying to cope with it. Brother Johanan has been taking good care of her but I fear this Amada devil is taking its toll on her. The children even noticed." Ignacia commented as she folded two napkins and got out the spoons and sugar bowl.

A young man of about 10 knocked at the door to the Catacombs. "Senora Kat?"
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 11th January 2009, 05:23 PM
Johanan replied, "Of course I will." He put his arm around her waist while she held onto him and escorted her back to bed. He helped her lay down and looked at her. "I'd make you breakfast but I don't think you want any."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 11th January 2009, 05:35 PM
Kat looked up at him queasily. "You are quite right in that assessment. I don't think I could hold anything down at the moment..." She smiled weakly and leaned into his strength.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 11th January 2009, 05:40 PM
As she leaned into him, he tightened his arm around her and leaned his head against hers. "Maybe later I can." he added softly.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 11th January 2009, 06:10 PM
"No I know you need to rest during the day Johanan. Go ahead..." Kat whispered, miserably.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 11th January 2009, 06:14 PM
The tone in her voice told him she didn't really want him to leave so he said, "Oh no. I'm fine. I rested with you last night and I can again. I'm not going to leave you alone to your pain. I'm going to stay with you. Make sure you're ok."
Posted by Paladin Dave (Member #82835) on 11th January 2009, 06:32 PM
Edmund frowned, wringing his hands for a moment before returning them to the top of his cane. "I'd not heard that she was ill. That's terrible! Should I bring some of the Sisters to see to her health?" He blinked once and raised an eyebrow, a quizzical look slowly coming over him. "And who is this Brother Johanan? I'm afraid I've not met him. Is he a colleague of Father Hexenhammer, over in the church?"
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 11th January 2009, 07:16 PM
"He was sent by a Cardinal's order in Rome from what I understand. That's all I know Brother Edmund. Which is not much at all." Sister Ignacia chuckled then stood, going over to the now whistling tea kettle. Soon she had a steaming cup of fragrant tea slipped in front of Brother Edmund. She took his hand and placed it on the edge of the saucer so he would not burn his hand.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 11th January 2009, 08:09 PM
Johanan heard the boy at the door and told Kat, "There's someone knocking at the door. I'll be right back. Don't try to get up. Okay?" When he thought she would not, he went to the door and opened. "Yes?"
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 11th January 2009, 08:29 PM
"Um... um... Brother Edmund is here and Sister Ignacia said he wants to see Senora Kat." The young man stammered looking up at Brother Johanan nervously. He figured the monk would scold him as most of them did.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 11th January 2009, 08:35 PM
"Senora Kat is not feeling well right now. I do not believe she can see anyone. But I will tell her. Wait here for me to let you know one way or the other. Okay?"

Johanan then went to Kat and whispered. "Brother Edmund is here to see you. I told the child that you were not feeling well. But to wait for me to verify you do not want to see him."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 11th January 2009, 08:49 PM
"Oh but I should love to see Brother Edmund... I just don't think I can. Please tell him I would come if I weren't so frightfully sick at the moment..." Kat frowned. She truly did want to see the sweet Brother Edmund but she was in so much pain and knew it would be almost impossible to manage.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 11th January 2009, 08:57 PM
Johanan nodded his head, "Okay Kat I will tell them." He went back to the child and told the boy, "Please tell Brother Edmund that Kat would come to see him but she is frightfully sick and it would be impossible at this time. She really would like to see him though. Please tell him that."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 11th January 2009, 09:04 PM
"Yes sir!" The boy nodded and turned to race back up the stairwell the elevator was just too slow. He raced down the hallway and slid back into a walk just as he reached the door outside the kitchenette where Sister Ignacia was.

"Sister? The Brother told me to tell Brother Edmund, Senora Kat really would like to see him but she is very, very sick right now."
The boy hoped now he could go play outside in the gardens. It was beautiful here and the children were having fun inside the compound's walls.

"Thank you Pedro. Next time no running in the halls, don't forget," Sister Ignacia replied calmly.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 11th January 2009, 09:08 PM
Johanan watched him run up the hall and then up the stairs and nodded. He then turned and returned to Kat. "I told the young man what you said. I think Brother Edmund will understand."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 12th January 2009, 10:39 AM
"Yes, Brother Edmund is very kind. I'm sure you are right." Kat just wished her head would stop. She kept moving the ice around, holding it until her hand became numb from the cold.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 12th January 2009, 11:09 AM
Johanan took the ice from her hand when it became to numb, "Allow me. Just tell me where to move it." He smiled and winked at her. He didn't have to worry about his hand turning numb.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 12th January 2009, 02:42 PM
Kat finally got some relief and dropped off to sleep.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 12th January 2009, 06:58 PM
Johanan sighed in relief when her face relaxed and she was able to fall asleep. He kept the ice nearby and ready for when she woke and sat beside her. Getting up onto to get more ice as it melted so that there would be some there for her.

Holly meanwhile had fallen asleep witht he rising sun and was in dreamland. She dreamed that she was sucking the disgusting monk dry of his blood and a smile appeared on her face. It grew when she cast his lifeless body to the side and went for Kat.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 13th January 2009, 09:33 PM
Kat opened her eyes about twenty minutes later. She looked weary but her pain was gone. She smiled over at Johanan and held out her hand.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 13th January 2009, 09:41 PM
Johanan took her hand and leaned in and kissed the back of her hand. "How are you feeling Angel?"

"I'm not in pain right now. That's a wonderful blessing. I'm hoping I can get on my computer and do some research about this." Kat replied smiling because he kissed her hand.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 13th January 2009, 10:15 PM
Johanan grinned broadly. "That is wonderful news!" He was so glad Kat had no pain. "But lets not take any chances. Lets take it slow and easy. Can I help you with the computer?"

"Yes, I need the power supply adapter and the laptop. They should both be on the desk over there." Kat sat up.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 14th January 2009, 11:56 AM
Johanan went over and got the computer and adapter then brought the computer to Kat and then plugged it into the outlet. "Here you go angel." He smiled at her. "Being from another time, these computers impress me with everything they can find and the information they reveal. And what you did with the house. Its just astounding. "
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 14th January 2009, 12:08 PM
"Just modern technology at work." Kat grinned and booted up the computer. She set it aside while it loaded.

"Johanan... you are going to grow weak if you keep staying beside me." Kat looked down.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 14th January 2009, 12:26 PM
Johanan nodded his head. "Okay. I'm just concerned but you're right. I do need to get something inside of me. I'm getting weaker I can tell. Wouldn't our enemies like to see me now. I'll be right back." He squeezed her hand and winked at her. "Don't do anything to upset yourself while I'm gone."

He headed back to the kitchen and took out a packet of blood. Then went to his room and locked the door. He devoured the contents and then cleaned up. He sighed, unlocked the door and reappeared at Kat's door. "I'm back, refreshed."

"Would you mind if we went upstairs to see if Brother Edmund might still be here? I would like to see him..." Kat asked Johanan.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 14th January 2009, 01:46 PM
Johanan shook his head, "No I don't mind." As they began to go, he asked "Who is this Brother Edmund?"
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 14th January 2009, 01:51 PM
"He is a blind monk, a friend. He came after the first wave of vampire hunters arrived. He knows Nico, because Nico saved his family. I really don't know a whole lot about him other than he is very nice." Kat smiled as they left the catacombs, she looked very pale.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 14th January 2009, 01:56 PM
Johanan grew concerned as she was visibly weaker then she was before. But she wasn't in pain so that must be good. Johanan looked at her as she left the catacombs in front of him.

"Okay. I... you look so weak. Would you like to lean on me again?"

Johanan's eyes needed time to adjust to the light coming in from outside. It hurt for a second because he had grown accustomed to the catacombs.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 14th January 2009, 03:25 PM
"Johanan? Are you okay?" Kat asked noticing he was blinking his eyes more than normal. "If you need to stay in the darkness I understand. It will be darker in the elevator and the hallway upstairs." She offered hoping he would be okay. She was worried about him, just as he was worried about her.

"Can you pull your hood lower to keep the sunlight from you?" Kat whispered.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 14th January 2009, 04:41 PM
Johanan blinked some more. "I think I'll be ok. Just getting use to the light after not being in it is all. But lets get to the elevator quickly."

He smiled at her. "That's a good idea." And he pulled his hood down further. "That works." He walked with her to the elevator. "Now feel free to lean on me if you need to Angel."

"Thank you Pedro. Next time no running in the halls, don't forget," Sister Ignacia replied calmly.

She took his hand and placed it on the edge of the saucer so he would not burn his hand.
Edmund frowned deeply as he took hold of the cup Sister Ignacia had placed his hand on. He murmured a thank you as he took a sip, then gave a long sigh. "That's terrible news, Sister. Ill on the first day of the job... I hope she'll be well again soon."

"That is most curious." Edmund remarked concerning Brother Johanan. "I've not heard of him. Oh well; I'm certain that everyone back at the Church knows him. What is he like? Will he be watching the children with you all, or is he only here temporarily?" The old monk seemed puzzled after asking that. He asked with a quizzical frown, "Have you any idea as to why he didn't come stay at the church? Why here?"

"From what I understand he came to protect Senora Kat from Amada and her wicked ones. He has been doing a fine job of protecting her. I think that is why he has stayed with her but then of course she became ill. I hope this is only a passing bug. We need Senora's help. I fear Sister Diane and I are not technically literate enough for this building..."

The elevator arrived at the top floor and opened into the hallway. Kat walked out slowly leaning on Brother Johanan. "They are probably in the kitchenette." Kat guessed and they headed that way.

Johanan nodded, "Yeah they are. I can hear them." He walked slowly with Kat supporting her as much as she needed on their way to the kitchenette.

"I had thought we had that much covered." Edmund said, obviously a bit puzzled. "Perhaps he was sent to alleviate the amount of time our other slayers spent defending her? From what I'm told, she is quite the high priority for this Amada character. I certainly hope he's up for the job. As for the house... well, I certainly sympathize." he took a careful sip of his tea, then continued to speak with the cup hovering a few inches from his lips.

"Where does Brother Johanan stay, then? Does he rest during the day, as most of our slayers at Saint Mary's do?"

Kat smiled as she heard Brother Edmund's question. "Well Brother Edmund, he has taken Nico's room below in the catacombs. However since I've been having so many difficulties he has been watching over me and not had much rest I fear. I've been a terrible bother to him. This is Brother Edmund, Brother Johanan. He is my cookie partner." Kat smiled. Sister Ignacia was shocked at the way Senora Kat looked and could not help the sharp intake of breath in her shock.

"Senora Kat! Should you even be up and around? You look so deathly pale..." She asked finally finding her voice.

"I've had some ill news but I hope to find my way back... Enough about me. How have you been Brother Edmund? I've missed you." She patted his hand and her own hand was shaky and unsteady. "Did you get the cookies I left for you?" Kat asked.

A look of surprise came over Edmund as Katrina answered his question for Ignacia. He turned to look towards the source of her voice, baring his crooked teeth in a warm, almost goofy grin. "You do sound a bit under the weather; but regardless, it is good to hear your voice again, Katrina. I hope your ailment isn't serious!"

It took him a moment to remember the cookies, but his face lit up visibly when he did. "Oh! Yes, the biscuits were fantastic! I even shared a few with some friends at the monastery; they were most upset to hear we'd let you get away! Vows of poverty aside, we'd have much liked to have you move in as a new cook!" he chuckled. "But as far as how I'm faring, life is simply more of the same. It is nice to know that you are safe for the time being. Erm... Brother Johanan?" he asked, his eyes blankly searching the area around her.

"I don't believe we've met. Brother Edmund, at your service. How are you enjoying your stay here in Mexico, Brother?"
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 15th January 2009, 09:58 PM
Johanan cleared his throat so he knew where he was. "No we haven't met. It has been quite a time to get used to. I've been chased by vampires twice now and had to kill one. And I also shot one with Kat's gun that was chasing us. It has been quite different then I'm used to but I've actually found it exciting even if it is dangerous. Must be the company."

"Brother Edmund, how are Father Van Andruian and Sister Deborah doing?" Kat asked sitting down thankfully in a chair. She was feeling exhausted just from the effort to come upstairs and walk down the hallway? This was nuts. She couldn't go on like this.
Posted by Paladin Dave (Member #82835) on 22nd January 2009, 01:31 PM
"Sounds dreadful." Brother Edmund said with a frown. "If you should feel endangered, or require help, you may always request the assistance of one of our slayers. I'm quite sure that Brother Nicodemus would be glad to fill that position, in fact."

"Sister Deborah and I are doing well. Life simply goes on, for we non-combatants. Would you like me to ask her to come by? I'm sure she'd be delighted to help you speed up your recovery, Miss Katrina."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 22nd January 2009, 03:39 PM
Katrina could not bear to let the kind Brother know what the doctors said her tests showed. She would not burden him so she decided. "Thank you Brother Edmund. I would love to see Sister Deborah. I'm hoping to purchase another place for myself since it appears the Policia will not let me leave after all. Sister Ignacia, how are you doing with the computer systems?" Kat looked over and saw the Nun's face fall into a frown.

"Not good... I was going to ask you to write down the procedure for me. I'm just not sure how to do all of this." The Sister looked down embarrassed. Kat nodded.

    "I will do that."

"No Brother Edmund, Nico has much more important work to do than be bothered with me. He told me once I interfered with his job of protecting others. I do not wish to do that ever again. Please do not bother him. Brother Johanan and I were able to manage it." She smiled and sighed. She was so weary suddenly but fought the feeling.

"Do you know how Father Van Andruian is doing with Val? Have they learned more about The Brotherhood?" Kat asked curiously.
Posted by Paladin Dave (Member #82835) on 26th January 2009, 11:29 AM
Brother Edmund seemed troubled by Katrina's statement concerning what Nicodemus had told her. He'd never known the man to take such attitudes towards those in need; especially friends. But these were times of strain for everyone. "Well, I'm certain he'll come around." Edmund tried to assure her.

"As for the girl..." His face fell even further as they moved to the subject of Val. "We've actually endured a rescue attempt from the Brotherhood. They'd actually sent living men to try to infiltrate the church. Walked right in, they did. Brother Coronada and Brother Ridgehill were able to apprehend them, though. There were only two of them, and one of them was more or less blackmailed. We're arranging for he and his family to be taken somewhere safe. The other, however, was involved in organized crime before the Brotherhood arrived, and we're trying to get the police to take him in. The former had been most helpful in obtaining information, though. In ways miss Valerie has never been, despite the wide variety of cruelty and kindness that's been shown to her throughout her stay. I think we might have a base of operations to begin scoping out. And how about you, Katrina? Has this dreaded Amada character been up to more of the same? We've tried to differentiate between the two vampire factions, but our successes have been frustratingly few."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 26th January 2009, 08:04 PM
"What do you know about the differences between the two?" Kat asked Brother Edmund. Her headache was resurfacing but thankfully Brother Edmund could not see the grimace of pain that raced across her face.

"Senora Kat..." Sister Ignacia started to say but Kat shook her head in the negative to stop her from saying anything and held up her hand to indicate she should not say anymore. She smiled a weak thank you to the Sister and turned back to Brother Edmund.

"Do go on Brother Edmund, I am most fascinated to learn more about this mysterious Brotherhood. I've not found much doing research on them. Amada however, I've found ties to a drug cartel in South America..."

"I've found that the difference is quite acute, according to our encounter records. You see, Amada's cult is a most salacious, self-serving, and immoral bunch. They are satanic, at least in the upper echelons, and use money and decadency as their motivations at most levels. The Brotherhood, however, seems to be more purpose-driven. They've the intent to stop us securing this town, so that they might claim it as another base of operations."

Edmund sipped his tea and continued after clearing his throat. "They work in secret, and they regulate and control themselves with the sort of immortal patience that Brother Nicodemus shows. Many of them do not seem inclined to do evil for evil's sake; simply furthering the goals of their people. I'd say the Brotherhood are the more intelligent, long-term threat. Amada, however, is threatening their preference of working in secret. They're behaving rather violently and aggressively. So long as you've attracted their attention, I'd suggest remaining indoors at night." He frowned, setting down his cup and wringing his hands. "Quite frankly, I'm worried for you."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 28th January 2009, 01:38 PM
"Ah Brother Edmund you are such a sweet dear fellow. Thank you for being concerned but remember I have trained with Brother Nico. I am able to defend myself from Amada. She has tried twice to assault this compound and failed miserably. Besides I have Brother Johanan here and he is watching over me." She smiled up at Johanan.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 28th January 2009, 08:12 PM
Johanan looked down and smiled at Kat. "I am doing my best to keep her safe, Brother Edmund. Like I mentioned I killed a vampire earlier and shot another. WHat a night it was."

"Brother Edmund, you said there was an attack on the church? Was anyone hurt? What has Val said since then?" Kat asked trying to keep her concentration but the pain was growing steadily worse again. She fought the wave of nausea that threatened her along with the throbbing, stabbing pain she was feeling in her head.

Kat knew suddenly she could not stay or she might get sick in front of Brother Edmund and Sister Ignacia. She stood up. "Brother Edmund, forgive me, I must go, I'm not feeling well..." Kat looked pale. She leaned against Brother Johanan. "My apologies Sister." Kat clutched Johanan's arm for strength.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 30th January 2009, 05:14 PM
Johanan replied, "I bid you both good day. I need to help her down to her bed." He put his arm around her for support and led her to the elevator that would take them down. When they were inside the elevator. "I don't think you're going to be able to keep them from finding out Angel."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 30th January 2009, 05:38 PM
Kat looked up at Johanan in the elevator. His worried look touched her heart deeply. It struck her again, he was a very attractive man. How unfair life was, she thought with chagrin. Then the pain in her head took over and all she could think of was the pain.
"I don't know how long I can stand this..." Kat whispered softly.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 30th January 2009, 09:37 PM
Johanan swallowed. He didn't want her to give up. He replied with a bit of urgency, "Lets get some more ice. It helped before. Maybe it will again." He looked at her with extreme concern on his face.
Posted by Paladin Dave (Member #82835) on 30th January 2009, 10:53 PM
Brother Edmund looked about in utter confusion, rising to his feet as he realized that Kat and Johanan were walking away. "Sister Ignacia? Where are they going? I... I take it this would be my informal cue to leave?" he asked dejectedly. This was all very puzzling, but even more troubling. He had a lot of love for the humble servant of God he'd found in Katrina. There was a sinking feeling in his chest that she desperately needed help, and soon. "I'll have to get Sister Deborah." he hissed through his teeth, steadying himself on his cane.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 30th January 2009, 11:03 PM
Sister Ignacia reached out and placed a hand on Brother Edmund's arm. "Senora Kat must be very ill. She appears to be growing sicker daily. She has these terrible headaches... Just now she was in a great deal of pain."

Kat smiled at Johanan but her smile faded quickly in the presence of the pain. She was eager to try the ice. Eager to lie in bed...
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 31st January 2009, 12:23 PM
Johanan led her to her bed. He helped her lay down, "I'll be right back." He went to the kitchen and got some ice out of the freezer and wrapped it in a towel. Then sat down beside her, "Tell me where to hold it Angel."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 31st January 2009, 12:46 PM
Kat seized his hands and pulled them down to make the ice contact her right temple and side of her skull. Once positioned she lay there fighting back the tears of pain.
"Thank you Johanan..." she whispered and took one of his hands. She brought it to her lips and kissed his hand.
"Thank you for all you are doing for me, Johanan. I finally find someone who cares about me a little and I have run out of time... I am eternally in your debt," she whispered.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 31st January 2009, 07:38 PM
Johanan smiled when she kissed his hand. But then it disappeared when she said he cared about her a little and she was running out of time. Johanan looked at her sadly, "Angel, I care about you alot. I've never felt this way about anyone. Do you know what that means? 1400 years and you're here. So I care about you a lot.. And I don't want you to give up. I'm going to find a way to get you over this. One way or another..."

His words played over in her mind and for a brief moment the pain was overwhelmed by shock. Johanan... cared a LOT? He seemed so adamant about finding a cure for her... but the doctors said it was hopeless... they had no hope to give her. NO! She couldn't find someone who cared for her only to DIE! How could this be happening?

"Maybe I should give up... before I cause any trouble for you as I did for Brother Nicodemus..." Kat whispered miserably.

"No... Johanan... you... you have it all wrong. It's just... hard to believe someone loves me." Kat whispered, studying his ruggedly chiseled face as her heart thumped wildly. "This is so unfair... why now? What do I have to give you?" Kat bemoaned the evil twist fate had thrown her.

Johanan took her hand and squeezed, "I can't answer why now. But I do know how I feel. You have you. And you is what I have missed all my life." He kissed her forehead, "Just as I have myself and I'd like to think you've missed me."

Kat's nerves were on edge and Johanan's kiss set her senses reeling. She gasped softly and looked up at him. "Johanan?" Kat wanted to throw caution to the wind, after all, what did she have to lose? Johanan had lit the fires of desire within her with that kiss. She repeated his name tenderly. "Johanan..." Kat's hand came up to gently cradle the side of his face and guide his face back down to hers.

Johanan hesitated when she spoke his name but when she said it again and cradled his face, he said, "Katrina...I " and then leaned down as she pulled him down and when his lips reached her's he kissed her tenderly and then lifted her up to him..

Kat went to him willingly, hungry to be close to him. "Johanan..." She felt him envelop her in his embrace. She let the ice pack fall and slipped her arms around him to press close to him. He had ignited her senses and she was lost in the moment.

Kat returned his kiss with eager abandon. Her body throbbed with desire, her senses heightened. She could feel his fangs as she kissed him but it didn't matter. He cared about her, wanted her! The throbbing in her head made a reappearance. Lights danced in front of her eyes but she ignored it. Nothing was going to steal this moment, not even pain!

He kissed her passionately and with all the desires that he had. He wanted her with every ounce of his being. He could feel her heart pounding against him and it seemed to get louder as they kissed. It was a sound that he had heard many times but never like this. And he wanted to hear it like this all the time. He didn't know that she was experiencing pain again because he was lost in everything that he had denied himself for 1400 years. And this kissing was extremely fulfilling in ways he didn't know. All those years as a monk denying himself. He let lose and kissed her again.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 31st January 2009, 11:24 PM
Kat returned his passionate kiss with equal intensity. Her hands slid up and down his back. Then suddenly the pain would no longer be denied and it assaulted her without mercy. Kat squeaked as she tried to deny it but lights began to dance before her eyes and she felt lightheaded. Johanan would feel her body suddenly lose strength and then she made a small protesting noise before going limp in his embrace. The pain had won by stealing her consciousness.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 31st January 2009, 11:35 PM
Johanan cried out, "Kat!" in horror when she went limp. He caught in her in his arms and held her, "Oh Kat I'm sorry." And the vampire wept for her. Even as he found her weak heart beat. "Kat please come back." He laid her on the bed and sat beside her. He was vigilant waiting for her to awaken.

Almost an hour later Kat opened her eyes. First thing she saw was Johanan. She smiled and placed her hand over his. "I think I was dreaming..." she whispered.

Johanan sighed in relief when she awoke. "I'm so glad you're awake. I've been so worried." He looked at her and asked, "What were you dreaming?"
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 1st February 2009, 04:10 PM
Kat looked away. "I dreamed you kissed me, Johanan."
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 1st February 2009, 04:17 PM
Johanan looked at her shocked that she thought it was a dream. He moved over to the bed and sat beside her., "That wasn't a dream Angel. I did kiss you." He squeezed her hand, "And I really hope that we will again."

Kat looked up at him, her eyes searching his for a sign he was teasing her or not serious. When she saw his look was sincere she smiled. "Could we try again?" She whispered, her eyes dark with smoldering desire.

Kat returned his kiss with fervor. When she pulled away to catch her breath she looked up at him. "I'm so glad it was not just a dream..." she murmured. Her hand came up to gently caress Johanan's face and move his long dark locks from his forehead. Her head was beginning to hurt again and she sighed sadly. "I wonder if the doctors could send something to help with this pain at least?"
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 1st February 2009, 07:06 PM
Johanan smiled broadly, "So am I." He leaned his face into her hand. While he caressed her side. "I think we should find out fast so that you aren't in such pain, Angel." He looked at her in the eyes, "I wish there was a way to remove the pain from you permanently."

"I will get on my computer and see what I can find out..." Kat smiled at Johanan and held his hand.

"Would you be a dear and bring it to me?" Kat asked. Once she had it she powered it up and began to read her communications. Finally she found one that made her smile. "Here! I will call Mary and have her send this prescription the doctor suggested. Maybe this will be just what I need to keep functioning."
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 1st February 2009, 08:30 PM
Johanan squeezed her hand, "Sure I can get your computer Angel. " He went and retrieved her computer and brought it to her. Then sat down and watched her work the keyboard. Then was relieved when she found something. "Great! I'll get you the phone" He got her the phone and handed it to her.

Kat chatted briefly with Mary and listened to the doctors report. Kat smiled and shook her head. When she hung up she looked at Johanan with a smirk. "Well the medication for pain will be sent but the problem with the tumor is the amount of blood pooling around it shutting off vital receptors in my brain. One of the doctors suggests thinning my blood or 'giving blood' if there is a place around here to do so." Kat chuckled and looked up at Johanan.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 1st February 2009, 09:14 PM
Johanan looked at Kat for a second and realized what she was thinking, "Well it sounds like one of my other qualities will be helpful in aleiving your pain. Its useful being different for once." He smirked.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 1st February 2009, 09:59 PM
Kat smirked again. "You are under no obligation of course Johanan... I can have Sister Deborah take blood." She looked down afraid he might not wish to take her blood, after all Nico had not been interested either... Her head was not hurting so bad at the moment but she was anxious to see if it would work. It seemed like such a perfect solution. Johanan would gain sustenance and she would gain pain relief. That seemed like a winning situation for both of them! Kat was elated.

Then she remembered Nico's words... 'The third bite will turn you into one of them. Except by me, my bite can not turn you.'

Kat's face fell and she looked up at Johanan with tears in her eyes. "OH NO! Greg and Nico both have bit me... the third bite will turn me... that's what Nico said!" Kat whispered to Johanan in horror, as she realized the latest twist in her fate.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 1st February 2009, 10:05 PM
"Oh I will definitely do whatever it takes to make you feel better Angel." Johanan said. He hugged her. "Its the perfect solution."

But then she remembered the other bites. "Well I won't if you don't want me too but once you get used to being a vampire, its not so bad. We would be together." He offered.

"What about you, Johanan?" Kat asked, concerned for his welfare. She had not seen him consume any blood and hoped he was at least using the stores for Nico. She researched the medications the doctor had prescribed and what she found was interesting. One of them was to reduce the sodium in her body which increased the amount of blood she produced. That explained why she was always able to give blood so often before without ill side effects.

She would arrange to have Sister Deborah take her blood, showing her the report from her doctor. She would swear the Nun to secrecy about Kat's condition. She did not want Father Van Andruian, Nicodemus or any of the vampire slayers finding out.

"I have taken some of the blood from the refrigerator. So I'm fine." Johanan said to reassure her. He didn't want her worried about him when she was in such a condition. "I go off alone to consume it because I doubt you really would want to see me. drinking blood and I really never had anyone watch me do it."

Katrina blushed and looked down. "I'm sorry Johanan, I didn't mean to pry or embarrass you..." She wondered if she had said the wrong thing yet again. She was good at that... Kat sighed deeply.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 2nd February 2009, 06:14 PM
Johanan took her hand. "You're allowed to ask me anything you want Angel. You didn't embarrass me and you don't need to worry about prying." He smiled, "I would rather you asked then not care."

"Johanan? What is it like? Nico says it is a sad existence that he loathes... being a vampire." Kat looked up at him searching his face.

"Its hard when you first get turned. Especially if you're left alone. Without guidance, you can go wild and do many vicious things. But once you accept the change and learn to control yourself which is much easier with someone there offering guidance, you can enjoy life. I mean I got to meet Erasmas, Michaelangelo and called them friends. And there are many things once can do with a long life. Of course you will lose close friends over time."

Kat suddenly couldn't hear what Johanan was saying. She was feeling the deep attraction to him and she shivered as hormones raced through her veins. Her mind scolded herself for giving into this desire. Kat remembered what it was like with Nico... would it be as wonderful with Johanan? She had to wonder... Nico didn't care for her but... Johanan did! Surely it would be better! Kat's heart thumped in her chest. How she longed to be in his embrace again...

Katrina continued to look at Johanan with fascination.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 2nd February 2009, 09:31 PM
Johanan finished speaking and then looked at Kat and saw the desire in her eyes and his senses picked up the pheromones and hormones being sent into her blood. He knew what she wanted and he felt the same desire but he also felt her heart beating closer. Her blood was tempting him. He moved to her and embraced her again. Despite the desire to bite her, he fought himself to gain control and gave in to his desire to kiss her again but not take her blood enjoying these new feelings that she caused in him.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 2nd February 2009, 09:59 PM
Johanan excited Kat and her breathing became shallow. She responded to Johanan's attentions. Her door was now locked and there was no one in the world except the two of them. Kat kissed him passionately. "I will hold onto hope... for you Johanan..." Kat whispered as she kissed his face.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 2nd February 2009, 10:08 PM
"And that hope will keep us going." He felt the same as she did. They were the only ones on the planet. And he felt her heart speed up and it made him want her more. He wanted her two ways but he would only give in to the desire that didn't do what she didn't want. He lifted her up to him and held her close as he kissed her on the neck.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 2nd February 2009, 10:21 PM
Kat gasped as the pleasurable sensations quaked through her. Johanan wanted her! HER! Kat was so overcome with joy and desire she was no longer sure where she was. All that mattered was Johanan and the wonderful things he was evoking in her.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 2nd February 2009, 10:26 PM
He continued to fight the desire for her blood but gave in to his desires to please her and to enjoy the closeness of her body. His hands massaged her and he kissed her along the neck and up across her cheek to her lips. He was experiencing joys denied to him for way to long. And he wanted to give her the same joys and pressed against her.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 2nd February 2009, 10:37 PM
Kat reveled in the attention Johanan was giving her. His ministrations were making her feel wanted and so alive! Or perhaps it was because she faced the end of her life that she suddenly seemed ultra sensitive to everything. Kat sighed with pleasure as he kissed her neck. She wondered what he wanted. She wanted to make Johanan happy, as happy as he made her. "Don't stop Johanan... this is what I need...I need YOU!" Kat whispered softly and ran her fingers through his dark hair. The pain in her head was growing but she was trying to ignore it.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 2nd February 2009, 11:06 PM
Johanan brought his face up from her neck and he said, "I need you too." And he kissed her. He wanted to keep doing everything that made her happy. And everything that was giving him pleasures. He took a breath and looked into her eyes, "I have no intention of stopping. I want you."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 2nd February 2009, 11:12 PM
Kat sighed and melted against Johanan. "...then don't...because I want this too Johanan...Since last night when we walked in the sunset I have longed for this... I know this is happening fast but... time is different when you no longer have any left..."

Kat's head was throbbing. Darkness periodically claimed her sight but she tried to ignore it.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 2nd February 2009, 11:27 PM
Johanan brought her with him to the bed and fell down kissing her passionately. He desired her in ways that he thought impossible just a week ago. He couldn't believe how he felt about her. And how she felt about him him.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 3rd February 2009, 08:38 AM
The room felt suddenly warm and Kat felt the intense pain in her head. "Johanan... don't leave me..." Kat whispered relishing his feverish kisses and answering them with her own. Slowly though the pain won and Kat went limp after unconsciousness claimed her.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 3rd February 2009, 09:56 AM
Johanan gasped as she went limp again. His fangs seemed to grow as the shock momentarily drew his attention from controlling his desire but they quickly retracted, "Kat!" He laid her head gently on her pillow and laid beside her. He was so concerned about her. He couldn't believe this happened again. "Oh Kat"
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 3rd February 2009, 10:23 AM
Almost half and hour later Kat regained consciousness. She opened her eyes and rolled her head gingerly to the side. She smiled at Johanan. "You didn't leave me..." she whispered happily. Everyone left her... but Johanan did not. Katrina may have been selfish but for once in her life, someone seemed to love, desire and need her for her. Not for her money... not for her blood, not for what they could get out of her but because of who she was. She reached up and with two fingers gently stroked Johanan's face.

"I'm sorry Johanan, have I disappointed you again? My heart is willing, my body is betraying my desires... I am too weak..." Kat told him, worried about his response to her. She expected rejection, perhaps even anger...
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 3rd February 2009, 01:27 PM
Johanan smiled when she opened her eyes, "And I won't leave you Angel." He took her hand and kissed it when she asked if he was disappointed, "It is okay Angel. I am more concerned about you then I am anything else. We need to get that medicine here so that you don't lose consciousness when we are together. We will have to wait until it gets here and you become stronger. Until then," he massaged her side with his hand. "I will find other ways to make you happy."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 3rd February 2009, 02:16 PM
"Oh Johanan I have searched a lifetime for you... The one who cares about me..." Kat replied softly, delighting in his touch. "Having you near me... seems to give me the strength to go on. If you had not entered my life when you did... I think I would be in my grave already..." Kat told him honestly from her heart.

"I need to call and make sure Brother Edmund made it back to Santa Maria safely. Also I can talk with Sister Deborah about the blood situation. Maybe Oscar can take me to the church to have the blood drawn or maybe she can come here... I will have to see." Kat added.

"Could you do two things for me? Call Dr. Barringer the number is on my cell. Ask him what I can do before I get the medication. I just hope Amada lets me receive it... The second is, can you see to closing the deal on the house? She should have the papers for me soon." Kat leaned her head against Johanan. She had only known him a week and yet, it had been a very eventful and wild week.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 3rd February 2009, 03:33 PM
Johanan smiled and said, "I'm glad I give you the strength to keep going because I need you to keep going Angel." He hugged her.

When she asked about him calling the doctor and closing the house, he answered, "Yes. I can do both of those."

He got her cell phone and wrote down the number, then called it with another phone so she could use her cell.

When the phone was answered, "Hello Dr. Barringer? I am Brother Johanan and I am calling for Katrina. She would like to know if there is anything else she can do until the medicine arrives."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 3rd February 2009, 03:56 PM
The doctor explained many things to Johanan made suggestions in case the medication should be stopped from getting to her. Now Johanan knew a little more. He would need to increase Kat's salt intake and she would need to give blood on a regular basis to keep the pressure on the tumor down.

Kat called and spoke with Sister Deborah who agreed to come see her at the compound. Once she understood Katrina's situation she would travel rather than have Kat come to the church. Her first visit was scheduled for that afternoon.

After several hours Kat was tired and needed to rest again. She realized suddenly she had forgotten to eat.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 3rd February 2009, 05:20 PM
Johanan told Kat about the doctors instructions on taking in more salt and giving blood to allievate the pressure on the tumor. He was glad Sister Deborah would come see her here.

"Let me bring you something to eat before you rest. Then I'll call the realtor and see about the house. What would you like?"
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 3rd February 2009, 05:27 PM
"Eggs and toast? If it's not too much trouble..." Kat felt silly. She started to get up but the room swam. She was used to caring for others... not the other way around.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 3rd February 2009, 08:21 PM
"Its not to much trouble Angel. But don't try to get up. I want you to rest. Now stay here."

He watched to make sure she complied then went to the kitchen and began to make the eggs and toast. He realized she didn't say which kind of eggs so he decided to make scrambled. He cooked them up and place them on a plate, got two slices of toast and placed the plate on a tray and poured a glass of orange juice. He also placed a saltshaker on the tray in case he didn't salt enough.

Then walked back into the room with the tray.

"Here you go Angel. I hope you like it."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 3rd February 2009, 08:28 PM
Kat grinned slyly up at Johanan. Tilting her head to the side a little she smirked. "I wish I could provide you with some breakfast too..." she whispered feeling the intense attraction to him. She was finding it harder and harder to behave when he was near. He had ignited the part of her that had been sleeping for a long time. Nico may have awakened it... but Johanan had ignited it and fanned it into a raging inferno!
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 3rd February 2009, 08:36 PM
Johanan raised his eyebrows. She was causing the two desires to fight inside of him by doing that. He could sense the phermones in her blood rising and her desires were on her face. He wanted her blood again but... "I wish we could do that and that I would help you by doing it. But as long as you don't want to be a vampire I won't." He gave her the tray and laid down beside her. "After you eat, I'll work on your muscles some and some other things." He looked at her with the same desire.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 3rd February 2009, 08:44 PM
Kat could not resist that look. She put the tray to the side and turned back to him. "Johanan...this can't be all wrong... I feel too wonderful!" she whispered and took his face gently in her hands to kiss him tenderly.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 3rd February 2009, 08:52 PM
"No its not. You make me feel wonderful too." And he slipped his hands on her side and returned her kiss.

There was a chiming from her computer and Kat sighed. "Oh what now?" she grumbled and kissed Johanan before reaching across him for the unit. She read the message and groaned. "Sister Deborah will be here in about an hour." She reported to Johanan.

He sighed with the interruption of the computer. He opened his eyes wider when she said Sister Deborah would be there in an hour, "That was quick. At least she's dedicated to helping you." He put his arms around her and hugged her close while she was leaning across her. "Maybe in an hour I'll let you go." He chuckled and kissed her again. "Although I guess I better let you eat."

((Uh... they are still in the catacombs, aren't they? Let's jsut say Oscar has remained wherever his area is trying to find out information on Vampires, The Brotherhood, Amada, Mexio, the Policia, etc.))

((OOC: It's been several days now... ))

Kat got up and showered, then dressed. Sister Deborah arrived on time but the Nun was shocked when she saw Kat at the table in the kitchenette.

"Senora Kat... I heard you were ill from Brother Edmund my goodness, what is going on?" She asked as she sank into the seat opposite Katrina.

"You must promise me you will not tell anyone else. I have an inoperable brain tumor. Until I can get the medication delivered I need to take some steps to stop the pressure in my head. One of these is taking my blood on a more frequent basis. Brother Johanan has been watching over me and helping me with the doctors aid. Oh... this is Brother Johanan... This is Sister Deborah. I'm so sorry for forgetting my manners." Kat apologized to both of them.

"Brother Johanan, I heard you had arrived here. Is the Holy Father well?" Sister Deborah smiled. She had overheard his connection with the Vatican was close.

"The headaches have gotten worse, Sister Deborah." Kat explained. She knew the Sister would know what she was talking about. "This is supposed to help with the pressure..."

Sister Deborah tied the tourniquet then inserted the needle into her vein and let the small pouch fill with Kat's blood. Kat couldn't be sure but suddenly it seemed like she did feel a bit better. She asked about the children's health. Sister Deborah told her she would be looking at all of them here at the compound at the same time she took care of Kat. So it had worked out for her to see to Kat for the time being.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 4th February 2009, 02:55 PM
"Hello Sister Deborah," Johanan said as he was introduced. "Thank you for coming so quickly when you heard."

Johanan nodded his head, "Yes the Holy Father health was good when I left two weeks ago. "

The blood filling the the pouch began to draw his eyes. It was calling to him. He wanted and desired it immensely. He realized he had to go elsewhere while Sister Deborah worked, "I'll be in the next room if you need me."

He quickly left and and entered his quarters. He closed the door and leaned against the door. His fangs were expanding he could tell and soon they would be visible. He willed himself to get control. And slowly he did and his fangs retracted.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 4th February 2009, 06:32 PM
"How are Father Van Andruian, Brother Edmund and Brother Nicodemus doing?" Katrina asked.

"Father Van Andruian and Brother Nico are staying quite busy with these gangs Amada keeps turning. She must have a whole new supply of them coming in from somewhere. Many of them I have never seen before. Very few locals I see anymore... Brother Edmund is concerned about the children and... you." Sister Deborah replied as she finished up. Kat was relieved when Sister Deborah placed the blood on the table and packed up her things.

"Now you need to have some juice and plenty of water today... you know the routine." The Sister smiled over at Kat then put her med bag on her shoulder.

"Tell Brother Johanan it was nice to meet him and tell him good bye for me."

"I'm sure he had things to attend to. He has been taking too much of his time watching over me with me being so ill." Kat explained. The Sister smiled and nodded then opened the door to the catacombs.

"Oh are you still thinking of trying to find a house? You might want to reconsider with the gang activity."

"I will take that into consideration Sister..." Kat answered thoughtfully. She saw the children outside playing with Mick. The mastiff had become very fond of the children and visa versa. Kat was glad. She asked them to take care of Mick while she was ill and they had become close.

Once she closed the door to the catacomb she went back to the kitchenette and took the bag of blood, still warm. She went to Johanan's door and knocked.
    "Johanan? It's just me, Kat..."
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 4th February 2009, 07:42 PM
When he heard her knock, Johanan opened his door and let her enter and then closed the door. He sensed the blood immediately and licked his lips. "I'm sorry. I was having trouble with the sight and smell of the blood. It was drawing me. I had to go or she'd have known. Has it helped? Do you feel any better?"
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 4th February 2009, 08:42 PM
Kat smiled. "Yes! I think I do and I have a present for you..." She held the blood out to him. "It's all I have to give you right now...Tell me what you want me to do..." Kat looked at him, wondering if he would make her leave.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 4th February 2009, 08:58 PM
Johanan looked at the blood and swallowed. Then he took it gingerly and held it. It was still warm which made it even more desirable. It was calling to him. "Thank you Angel. I..." He looked at her for a second. "...want you to stay. Since we're going to be together, you should see all parts of me. Don't you think?" He took her hand in his other hand. "If you want to stay of course."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 4th February 2009, 09:09 PM
Kat nodded and took his hand eagerly. "Yes, I admit I'm a little nervous. I do want to share everything with you though." She wondered vaguely, 'What if he did not like her blood? Would he stop caring about her?'
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 4th February 2009, 09:17 PM
Johanan locked the door so no one would walk in on them and then nervously looked at the small pouch of blood. What if this scared her and she wanted nothing more to with him. "I'm nervous as well. Its not something I've let anyone else see." It was still warm and his fangs began to grow and he bit into the pouch and started consuming the blood. He did it hungrily and it was so good. It was obvious he enjoyed it. It was the first fresh blood he has had since the night he saved the woman from the mugger. He finished it and wiped away the blood from his mouth. His fangs retracted back into his mouth.

He looked at her and was afraid he disgusted her.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 4th February 2009, 09:23 PM
"I know it probably doesn't matter WHOSE blood it is... I just want to be a part of everything in your world Johanan." Kat replied softly, her head tilted to one side. "In these last few days you have given up so much for my sake. Not many people have been willing to do that for me. Thank you..." She smiled gently up at him. She drew closer to him, drawn like a moth to flame.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 4th February 2009, 09:38 PM
"It does matter whose blood it is Angel. Every person's blood tastes differently. And one who is attracted to you the blood is much better. Its the pheromones released in the blood."

He smiled at her, "And you have done quite a bit for me too Angel. You have made me feel like I have never felt before. And its wondrous. And I want you to be a part of every bit of my world."

He smiled happily. "I'm so glad that it is helping you feel better."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 4th February 2009, 10:00 PM
The gentle thrumming of the refrigerator and freezer unit in the kitchenette beyond the door and the pounding of her own heart were the only sounds in the room. Kat felt drawn to Johanan, the attraction was irresistible. She slipped her arms around his waist and looked up at him. "I'm glad Johanan..."
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 4th February 2009, 10:21 PM
Johanan slipped his arms around her as she embraced him. "Oh Angel I am glad this hasn't frightened you into running the other way." He could feel her heart racing and the phermone levels rising. Her blood would be even tastier now his brain said. But he wouldn't give in. Instead he hugged her close, "This is what I've always wanted." And he leaned down and kissed her.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 4th February 2009, 10:51 PM
"No Johanan, why would I run away from a chance for happiness in my life... finally." Kat whispered. She kissed along his strong chin and jaw. "You've made me so happy... I honestly thought no one would ever love me." Her eyes watched his. Johanan's medieval style shirt and modern slacks fit him very well and she could not help but to appreciate his physique. She ran a finger along the neck of his shirt.

"I want you to know how much I appreciate you. Johanan..." Kat leaned her head back to look back up into his eyes again and lost her train of thought.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 4th February 2009, 11:06 PM
"I do love you Angel. I would give up everything for you." He shivered when she ran her finger on the neck of his shirt.

"You are definitely doing that Angel." He looked into her eyes and smiled broadly. HIs fangs showing as he did. He leaned down and kissed her again.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 4th February 2009, 11:19 PM
Kat's eyes widened. "You... you love me?" She asked, startled by his revelation. "Oh Johanan, I think love you too! This is so crazy... we haven't been together that long and yet... death looming so near has made me appreciate each moment and we have built some amazing moments together, even though I have been in so much pain. Yes, I love you too Johanan." She replied. She held him close relishing his closeness. Her computer chimed the hour and she realized it was late.

"I am tired and it's getting toward evening. Johanan would you mind if I drink that juice and try to go to sleep? I don't want to push myself. I want to feel well enough to spend time with you the way I want..." Kat smiled and pulled the tie on his shirt with a mischievous grin to let him know she intended that time to be fun.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 4th February 2009, 11:43 PM
Johanan was thrilled by her revelation of her feelings. He hugged her and let her know how happy he was. He squeezed her close to him as the computer let them know the time. She said she was tired and he nodded his head. "Okay Angel. I want you to feel better too so yes drink the juice and get some rest. I'll see you later."

He grinned at her unspoken message and winked at her to let her know that he got the message and that he intended her to have fun too.

He left her room to let her get the sleep she needed and after a while went upstairs and out of the catacombs. He could sense them closing in on the compound and it was time they got the message that this was not where they wanted to be. He looked and made sure no cameras were around and turned into smoke and went outside. He floated over the wall and once he was sure it was darkness and it wouldn't be captured he solidified and appeared in the shadows.

It didn't take long for some of the vampires to discover his presence and they closed in on him.

"The monk has come out to play."

How did he get out here without us seeing him?"

    "Who cares? Lets kill him."

Johanan started laughing. "Yes come get me." He continued to laugh as they came at him and he turned into smoke and reappeared behind the two attackers.
He drove one face first into the wall. And His fangs grew and he bit into the back of other one's neck drawing out their blood and giving him nourishment. When the one was finished, he cast the body aside and fed on the one that was knocked unconscious.

    Then stood up and sighed.

He then turned into a bird and purched on a building and waited for more to come.

When one did he flew down and got them much like he had the first. Three vampires dead.

But the changing shapes had used up the energy he got from the vampires. He frowned. He's going to need to start carrying his blade if he's going to do this. That way he won't have rely on changing shapes.

When Johanan paused in his assassinations of the local vampires, Nicodemus' voice reached his ears; quietly whispering forth from the shadows. "You are not without skill, Brother." he said slowly, clearly and calmly annunciating every syllable. "But I see that you are... out of practice. Yes... terribly... terribly, unprofessional."

The Stregoni stepped forth from his hiding place, eyeing Johanan with suspicion. "I am surprised, Brother. Impressive as your record is, vampire slaying was not among your list of accomplishments and interests. Although... neither was being a vampire." He scowled at the ancient monk, resting a hand on his rapier. "You claim to be older than I, yes? I suppose it would be a travesty among the unholy undead if one of your age weren't capable of what you've done; at the very least." He began to pace slowly to the side, studying Johanan. "And what of Katrina? How is she faring? Have you done to her as you did to those vampires, or are you biding your time? You keep secrets from the Church; from God's earthly agents themselves! Why not her as well?"
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 9th February 2009, 08:08 PM
Johanan turned to the voice calling him unprofessional. He frowned. He recognized the voice or he might have lashed out at the voice thinking it another Amada's followers. "I haven't done much of it since the madness after I was turned and left to fend for myself. Although I must admit that my targets were not vampires back then. And the madness made me do many horrific crimes. Crimes that disgust me. Although I have killed those that prey on others when I needed blood. Who would have killed their victim."

When Nico came from the shadows, Johanan noticed his hand going for the rapier. "Yes I am far older than you. Have I done something to indicate I'm a threat to you? I think I just did your job. So why is your hand on your rapier."

His eyes narrowed when he brought up Kat, "I would never harm Katrina." His voice changed. It showed his feelings for her... "She is special. I did this to protect her and the kids inside. She knows I'm a vampire just as you do.

I'm going to make sure this area is avoided by Amada's followers.
    "

Nicodemus sighed and shook his head. "The fact that you've kept so much from the Church is certainly reason for me to doubt your credibility." He replied matter of factly. "But judging from the last words of your victims, they already know where you make your home. So long as Katrina; or you, I suppose; are known to be here, this area will be crawling with the undead and their living cohorts. Nothing can be done about that."

The Stregoni turned to glance around, his red eyes scouring their surroundings. "If you are not a threat to me, the other vampires are. You do Katrina a better service inside. Her security measures have been circumvented before, and it could happen again. Your lack of subtlety and preparation for your night-time strolls are not going to help things in that area, either. Amada reacts in a most predictable manner. Anger her, and she retaliates with progressively greater force each time."

With that said, he turned to regard Johanan again. He sighed quietly, moving his hand from his rapier to rub the bridge of his nose. "Until Amada is assassinated, I ask that you leave her followers to us. We have the means to capture and interrogate them; you do not seem concerned with this. If your aim is to defend Katrina, do so in a less noticeable way. And what of the Church? Am I to tell them that you are an ancient vampire? You know, we found an old cleric that closely resembled you; a bishop, I believe. Father Hexenhammer will be most interested to see you, should he hear of what you're up to under the Church's radar."

Johanan frowned, "I had hoped to scare the remaining ones into staying away. I hadn't thought that Amada would react with more aggression. I fear despite all the research I did I did not do enough on Amada herself. I was more interested in other things and how it related to my argument..." Johanan sighed.

"But if you want to interrogate and capture them I can most certainly change my tactics to accomplish that if I can be of help. Of course my main objective is the safety of Katrina and those inside and getting Amada assasinated is in their best interests.

"I'd of course prefer you didn't since I've spent a lifetime trying to keep that from getting out." He looked around because he thought he noticed something in the shadows but there was nothing there. "Yes I was a Bishop on several occassions but found it was to difficult to keep people from getting suspicious. I love the church. Although originally I didn't join because of that. I had another motive which would not be well received... Some of the things I did in the past..." He shook his head and shuddered.

"I'm sure he would be and I would be watched like you are." He sighed. The idea appalled him.

Nicodemus narrowed his eyes at Johanan for a moment, a look of annoyance growing on his stony Italian features. "I cannot say I am surprised. You would do well to keep your "tactics" limited to protecting Katrina, if her best interests are in your heart and mind. She doesn't want my help, and you are not trained as we in Santa Maria are. The first Brotherhood vampire you encounter could be an end to all the long years you've enjoyed. They are far older than the new embraces these cultists take in. Far fewer in number, but immeasurably superior. You are a theologian, "Brother". Not a warrior."

The Stregoni frowned, almost looking sympathetic at Johanan's mention of being watched. The man honestly didn't know the threat Nicodemus had just made, and he felt guilty for it. "No," Nico confessed. "You would not be watched as I am. I am given a comfortable amount of freedom from the Church, and we would not be seen in the same light or treated the same way. No... if they learned of your deception, you would be hunted. Father Hexenhammer is a witch hunter, Johanan. I would hate to see Katrina upset by it, but it is what would happen if word got out. And Hexenhammer would not come alone. There are other slayers in our ranks that are more fanatical than he; few in number they may be. I must ask that, for your own safety and for Katrina's well-being, you avoid trying to combat the vampire infestation. Are we clear?"

Johanan considered telling him of his connections with the Brotherhood but thought better of it. He had the feeling he'd quickly be blamed for the idiots in the Brotherhood who can't control themselves and/or enjoy what they do. And he'd prefer distancing himself from them. "You're right. I didn't intend to run into the Brotherhood but that doesn't mean I wouldn't."

When Nico told him what would happen, his eyes widened and he realized that his feelings were right on how it would be if his connection was found. "Even though I'm no threat?" He sighed. "I will do as you suggest Nicodemus. But if they do attack the compound, I will defend those inside. Hopefully not so that everyone figures out. But that will not be something I consider. If it means I must run afterwards I will not let harm fall to those inside as long as I can prevent it."

Nicodemus actually sneered at Johanan as he replied. "You've only faced upstart cultists. I should like to think that any Brotherhood operatives would have either avoided you or killed you at a range. Amada's cult are the only ones that have attacked the two of you so far; yes?"

His harsh expression only grew more harsh as Johanan continued. "You must understand, "Brother". You are a vampire that lied, time and time again, about who and what you are. You are a threat. Protect Katrina if that is what you mean to do. The Church will maintain vigilance in this area on the outside, and we are content to leave the indoors to you. But stay away from Church records and intelligence from now on; do you understand? I would not care if his Eminence himself played bridge with you; you have proven yourself untrustworthy, and I will be watching. You may accept these things, or you may face being revealed to our superiors." He narrowed his eyes, his lip curling up into a fanged snarl. "I think it is in everyone's best interest if you keep quiet and mind your own business here. You will win no debates here. This is a war zone, and you are no warrior."
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 12th February 2009, 02:44 PM
Johanan had no idea what he had done to be sneered at. All he did was agree with him. Why the hostility.

His eyes narrowed and he frowned when he was barred from the church records. "Church records have been what I do. So essentially my life is over as I've known it for centuries. I was at one time the head archivist at the Vatican. And now I'm not allowed." Johanan was getting angrier by the second.

"I would think a threat would be one that would actually try to kill you or someone close to you. I don't understand when all I did was come here to aid you. I would have never been allowed to do anything that I have done that was good."

"And Now my life as I've known is completely unraveled and you're threatening me. You need to read the Bible and reacquaint yourself with its teaching Brother Nicodemus."

"I will stay inside as you desire. I will not bother you or your war again as long as it does not effect me or the people inside this compound."

Angrily, Johanan headed for the gate to see if he could get inside again without anyone noticing him.
Posted by Paladin Dave (Member #82835) on 12th February 2009, 07:45 PM
"I know the scriptures quite well." Nicodemus retorted. "And I know how the Lord feels about liars! You should have confessed and repented, as I did. You would have been taken in as a prodigal son, rather than having to hide in the shadows from what you are!" He watched Johanan's retreating form and couldn't help but shake with anger for a moment. Was Johanan really going to tell him that he knew and followed the Bible better than Nicodemus?! The man played the games of rich men and hobnobbed with higher clergy while Nicodemus spent his time performing monastic duties and fighting Vampires! Saving lives! While Johanan mourned a scholarly life of leisure, Nicodemus was going to have to return to his eternal battle against evil; both in the form of the Brotherhood and the cultists, and the evil within. Within his heart, and stemming from his remaining vampiric urges.

Alas, Katrina was not going to be happy with him. He'd meant to visit her at the next opportunity, but it was unlikely he'd have received a warm welcome BEFORE he'd made a foe of Johanan. Once she caught word of this; and being the man of Church politics he was, Nicodemus felt he could count on Johanan to fill her in; there was no hope of Nicodemus staying on good terms with her now! He had to wonder; was he being overzealous? Had he been too suspicious of the man who was still his senior, as well as a high-ranking and well learned cleric in the past?

To part of Nicodemus, it didn't matter. Johanan didn't have to lie. He was feeling the consequences of his sins, right? But at the same time, he understood why he'd lied. Nicodemus had honestly expected to be killed when he turned himself in to the Church after a few years of vampirism. Why, though, could Johanan not have the same courage? Perhaps, Nico reasoned, a zealot such as himself should not be expecting people to operate by his standards? That would all have to be settled later. His guilt would have to wait. If there were amends to be made, they too would have to wait. He was certain that more cultists would be scoping the area out.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 12th February 2009, 10:32 PM
Johanan was fuming. He turned and stared at Nico for several seconds when he claimed that he knew the scriptures well. He would have retorted back at Nico that he only follows the verses that seem to support him but he didn't. He was to angry. But he thought to himself he knows nothing of the foundation of the Bible. And he thinks he knows Scripture.

Then he turned back and fuming continued on.

How dare Nico threaten to reveal him to the world! Why did he hate him so much? He openly revealed himself to Nico. That had taken courage he thought. After all he is a vampire slayer. And knew deep down that there was no point. HIs life as he knew it was over. He preferred it when it was his choice for the love of Katrina.

He passed back into the compound courtyard and headed to the door to get back in. He was feeling exhausted from the shapeshifting. He went into the garage and headed to the catacombs avoiding the cameras. Then entered the kitchenette and retrieved blood from the refrigerator and headed to his room and collapsed on the bed consuming the blood eagerly.

When he was finished, he got back up and cleaned up. He was still fuming at Nico. He started to pen his letter withdrawing from the order. He wondered if he would really send it. He couldn't imagine not being part of the church at all. He thought he'd still be able to write theology if he and Katrina... but Nico took that. He looked at his files of information that he had brought. He sneered at it and threw it across the room. Papers went everywhere. And he left them and forced himself to go to sleep.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 14th February 2009, 12:50 PM
Katrina slept for about 14 hours. The blood Sister Deborah had taken was helping reduce the pressure and she rested well for a change. Her body basically collapsed in grateful rest once relieved.

When she did awaken she felt refreshed and much better than she had in a very long time. She went to the kitchenette and actually made some breakfast. The kettle was ready and she sat at the table drinking orange juice while she caught up on mail and took care of some business.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 14th February 2009, 01:45 PM
Johanan opened his eyes. He looked at the disorganzied mess that his room was and read over the letter that he wrote earlier. He nodded his head. It would do. He folded it back up and put it in his pocket.

As he sat there he came to realize that he needed to find a way to get Kat out of Mexico. Away from Amada and away from the fanatical Nico. He'd have to figure out a way.

He came out of his room and found Kat sitting at the table.

    "How are you feeling Angel?
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 14th February 2009, 02:37 PM
"JOHANAN!" Katrina stood up and went over to slip her arms around him and hug him snugly. "I feel wonderful! Giving the blood has relieved my headaches!" She looked up at him smiling. "So what shall we do together this evening?"
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 14th February 2009, 03:39 PM
Johanana smiled brightly when she hugged him and told him she felt wonderful. His own problems vanishing from him. "That is great news Angel." And he hugged her close and leaned down and kissed her. He could feel the energy within her and that was great. It made the kiss even better then the previous ones

"I am so glad that you're feeling better." Then he looked at her.

"I can think of some things that we left off from doing earlier." He grinned mischievously and winked. "Perhaps we could go out for a special dinner this evening?"

"Oh and you asked me to close the deal on the hacienda and then you weren't sure. Shall I or shall we stay here?"
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 14th February 2009, 03:44 PM
Kat's face fell. "The hacienda was sold to someone else while I was so ill. That's what Marguerita told me when I called this morning. I guess we are stuck here for right now..."
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 14th February 2009, 03:51 PM
"Oh no I'm sorry. If I had done what you said..." He rubbed her back with his hand, "Well maybe this is a sign that we should plan to get out of Mexico altogether. They are watching the flight to America but they probably aren't watching European flights. We could go to an old place of mine that has been vacant for centuries. In Scotland."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 14th February 2009, 04:11 PM
"Amada's goons somehow got wind of my pilot's connections out at the airport. That's how she stopped me this time. She knew about my pilot and....my pilot... no surely not..." Kat finally asked the question she had dared not to. "But he was a friend of my father's... why would he sell me out?" Kat looked up at Johanan stricken as the truth hit her.

Finally it dawned on her what Johanan had said. "Oh a place in Scotland sounds lovely to me..."
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 14th February 2009, 04:20 PM
Johanan wasn't sure how to answer her, he wondered if she thought maybe her father wanted to leave her down here, "Surely your father wouldn't want to leave you in this battleground. Maybe the pilot was turned and revealed the plans to her."

Johanan smiled when she mentioned Scotland, "Its a lovely place right on the rocky coast." There also was a prison nearby and a village.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 14th February 2009, 07:29 PM
"My father would not have done such a thing but he is dead, so is my mother. I am alone." Kat looked away sadly.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 14th February 2009, 07:41 PM
Johanan swallowed, "I'm sorry Angel. I didn't know." He took her hand and kissed it, "You aren't alone any more. I will be with you as long as you want me to."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 14th February 2009, 10:50 PM
"Will you Johanan?" Kat asked sincerely, studying him carefully.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 14th February 2009, 11:31 PM
"Johanan looked at her with sincerity and said, "Yes Katrina I will always be there for you. As long as you want me to be there for you." He nodded his head and meant every word of it.

He hoped that Nico and his fanatics didn't do anything to drive them apart.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 15th February 2009, 02:32 PM
"Oh yes I want you there Johanan!" Kat looked up at him with a pitiful and pleading look in her eyes. She was so sick of being alone, being betrayed, being used and abused.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 15th February 2009, 03:16 PM
Johanan put his arms around her and smiled looking at her, "Then I shall be Katrina. I am tired of being alone too." He leaned down and kissed her.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 15th February 2009, 03:26 PM
Kat surrendered herself to the kiss and relished the joy that was washing over her. Johanan was igniting such passion within her she could hardly breathe. She felt weak in the knees and slightly dizzy. "Yes Johanan I want you there...I'm so glad I'm not alone anymore! I want to be a part of you, a part of your world where ever it may take me!" Katrina looked up into his handsome face and felt desire running through her veins, pulsing through her body.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 15th February 2009, 03:34 PM
Johanan was feeling desires on both fronts again. He wanted Katrin to be with him. And he wanted to taste her blood again. He fought the desire for blood and looked into her beautiful face, "That is what I want too. I want you to be in my life always and with me. I want you Katrina."

He felt the desire explode and he pulled her to him and kissed her again. Feeling her heart beat against him. He could sense her desires exploding from the pheromones. They were of one mind. And it thrilled him like nothing else had his entire life.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 15th February 2009, 07:41 PM
Kat returned his passion with equal intensity. "Johanan... I... I..." She couldn't even put into words the way she felt right now... it was so wonderful.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 15th February 2009, 08:08 PM
Johanan could feel her passion and delivered more to her. He was lost in her and he wanted her so much. He said haggardly, "Oh Angel, I love you. You are what I've waited for my whole life."
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 15th February 2009, 08:27 PM
"I always hoped someday I would find someone who could love me like this. Who saw me...who cared about me and was also someone I cared about and wanted to be with for always. Am I dreaming?"Katrina whispered looking up at Johanan.
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 15th February 2009, 08:36 PM

He hugged her. "Now what do you think about the two of us going out to dinner this evening?"

Johanan smiled, "Okay." And winked back. "I believe you. Yes I can eat it. Its something that I enjoy actually. I did have to learn how to eat all over again though. I did it so that I could eat with people while I was a priest. And well food is good." He grinned.

"Okay then I will see what I can do in the kitchen for us." Kat looked up at Johanan feeling the intense attraction to him become even stronger.

Johanan nodded and looked at her, his eyes revealing his attraction to her. "I look forward to seeing what you make." The spark between them was growing each minute. And it felt so good.

Kat knew from being around Nicodemus that vampires did not tolerate food well if at all. So she made a light dinner of two Filet Mignon she found in the freezer. She put together a salad, which she figured she would be the one doing most of the eating but it didn't matter, it was being with Johanan that she was most looking forward to. Had her attraction to Nico been preparing her for meeting Johanan? Nico showed her that her fear of vampires was unfounded. Not all of them were the same.

She sighed as she peeled the carrots and sliced them. She was so happy. The treatment had worked very well indeed and the pressure was gone. She felt like herself again.

Kat wondered where Oscar was. She had not seen him for days since she had been so ill. Perhaps he and Kathryn had a run in? On a whim she went to Oscar's door.

"Oscar? Hey are you in there? You okay? What's up? It's me Kat."
Posted by Lairston (Member #177069) on 16th February 2009, 08:41 PM
Johanan waited patiently for her to finish the meal. He was looking forward to trying her dishes. The smell from her preparation was filling the house and it smelled good. He was looking forward to spending the meal with her.

He was happy that she seemed to be her old self. Without any of the side effects of the tumor like fainting and pain.

He was trying to decide how their travel abroad would be best done. They need to get out without Amada and without Nico after that conversation last night. He sighed.

"Come in!" Oscar called. He sat in a chair at a small computer desk; cluttered with notebooks, books, pens and pencils. And of course the laptop. At least five windows were open on the screen; all filled with information on vampires.
Posted by cyberwing (Member #11784) on 19th February 2009, 11:42 AM
"What are you doing?" Kat asked him softly, seeing the files content. She was alarmed Oscar was getting as fanatical as Nicodemus.

Johanan wondered what he could do while he waited and then thought he'd set up arrangements for them to get out of Mexico. He got the phonebook and called the number.

When the phone was answered, "Hello, I would like to purchase two tickets to Scotland. Make that three." He didn't know why but an extra ticket might come in useful...
